  • Explaining the differences between Constant On (C/O), Instant On (I/O), Quick Trigger (QT), and POP radar, showing you what they look like from the radar gun and radar detector's perspective, and explaining why the different modes would be used.

    According RDForums the Highway Patrol here in Utah will run POP to get an initial speed then they will pace you with their car. I have turned POP on here just to make sure.

      Pacing has all kinds of issues. The LEO'S speedometer has to have been calibrated. etc.

    My favorite thing is when a cop leaves constant on running, and when you see them up the road they’re actually shooting laser but you exposed them long ago😂

    Where can I pick up one of those radars? I currently have a Kustom Signal GE 1, but would like to have a MPH for testing, but can't find one on eBay. Do you have any links to where I can find one?

    I think I encountered many automatic QTs in my hometown. Every time when a vehicle passes through the point very close to the radar, the radar turns on in a split second and goes off. But my R3 detected it as a regular K band rather than K POP. If there was not any others than me travelling on the road, even R3 couldn't do any help.

    Can you walk me through, or provide a link to a video that talks about how to get the audio alerts for the Radar bands for YaV1? (where he announce which band "33.8" "34.7" ect. ) like in your video. Thanks!

    I know the MPH BEE III radar can clock vehicles while the patrol car is moving, but can it do this with IO also? Or putting the antenna into stand-by is only possible with the patrol car being stationary?

    • @VortexRadar
      @VortexRadar  Před 5 lety

      Of course. IO is possible when moving too.

    vortex radar... is there any certification or licensing that you as a tester and enthusiast have to attain to run something like the mph considering you are not law enforcement ?... sorry for the long winded question i wasn't sure how else to ask

      @ardoin_337 Před rokem

      Not Vortex, but I can tell you that there are MANY radar/lidar detectors sold only offered to LEO's on eBay, and there's really no law saying that you can't run radar in a personal vehicle, at least in my state.

    6 years ago a cop gave me a ticket using pop. The cop told me he was using pop because he saw my radar on my windshield and said their was no way I could pick up his signal , because he was using pop get my speed. Wish I would of knew what I know today I would of went to court to fight it.

    • @ardoin_337
      @ardoin_337 Před rokem

      It's the frequency of the gun being used. Different brands of gun have different frequencies. 33.8 = MPH, 34.7 = stalker, 35.5 = Decatur or Kustom.

    so does being the only car in a group to slam on the brakes help the officer target you with the noise?

    • @SuperDodoe
      @SuperDodoe Před 4 lety +1

      if you slam on the brakes youre getting a ticket. Lets the po know youre runnning a detector.

    So Vortex with QT you can't lock the speed? and why do officers like to lock the speed, do they just forget the MPH they clocked you at? or for evidence?

    • @VortexRadar
      @VortexRadar  Před 9 lety

      You can transmit, lock, then go back into hold. It's slower but works too. You generally don't need to lock a speed though to write a ticket.

    Radar detectors really help when there are other cars ahead and they are being clocked You can get the signal before they see you and slow down. However, If you're the only car on the road and you meet them or suddenly round a curve or crest a hill, it won't really help if they are using that instant on radar. Maybe back in the day radar detectors worked perfectly (there was no instant on) and you really could speed with impunity. Unless of course you are paced. Which had happened to me and let off with a warning 97 in a 55 because said could electronically confirm it estimated it. They should make some other kind of detecting device to pick up another signal they would be using. I've tried waze. I live in the country so nobody uses waze out here its useless. Only a few troopers running County, so if you knew some backroads you could have a good chance even outrunning a radio.

    I got the most up to date v1 with the k junk fighter , would turning off POP actually give better performance

    • @VortexRadar
      @VortexRadar  Před 6 lety +1

      Well the POP feature on the V1 only affects K band. Ka band POP is always enabled. If you enable the junk K fighter, then you can't mess with K band POP detection.

    Most cops turn off Doppler and hit you with instant on. Explain to me how a cop sitting around the corner is going to develop a tracking history when the second you come up on him he hits the radar radar and pulls you over

    • @SuperDodoe
      @SuperDodoe Před 4 lety

    After seeing this, its pretty sure no detectors can save a ticket if you are over the speed limit. No time to react. COP WINS all the time!!!!!!!
