    I enjoy watching your restoration process. You give me hope for myself (haha) on replacing the wiring harness. Mine needs it as it's been hacked to pieces by previous owners. Thanks and have fun!

      Marcus Wyatt Thanjs Marcus! If I can do it my friend you can as well. Just have to study the manual and get really familiar with it first. Good luck.

      That's awesome. What a great project for a Father and Son to do together. You will actually enjoy doing the wiring, just take your time and study the manual. Thanks for the feedback and comment!! Good luck with your project. Make sure you check out the video on my channel that combines all the parts into one longer video of the entire wiring process. JD

    So glad I came across your channel.
    Definitely subscribing. I have my 79 CJ7 that's in need of another rebuild (I've done a few, now) but the part I'm dreading most is the wiring. I have the harness (I've had it for about 2 years) and I've just been waaaay too scared to start it.
    You've got me feeling inspired! Thanks so much!

      Mercedes Ann hey Mercedes. Glad I could help. Working on the final video now and I’m going to combine them all into one video I’ll try to publish this week. I dreaded the wiring as well and I’m glad it’s nearly over. I studied the painless wiring manual very thoroughly and studied the wires as well before I started. One wire at a time! Thanks for the comment and feedback.

    Great video I am going to tackle this same project soon . I’ve decided to also go with the painless wiring, I am a electrician/ builder by trade , but when it comes to vehicle wiring I am pretty green . The most I’ve done are lights on my hunting boat or re-wiring boat or work trailers. You helped me make the decision to go with painless wiring. As usual thanks for your time and the great video. Big hello’s from Snohomish Washington.

      jason lenihan Thanks Jason for the feedback. Advice so far w the wiring is to just make sure you read the manual they provide. It’s really thorough. There’s three total videos on my channel so far about the wiring be sure to check them out! Good luck!! You can do it!

    Hi mate, can I seek your advice re the neutral safety switch (NSS) on the steering column of my 79 CJ7. We took the column out to paint as part of the bigger restoration. My column auto is all over the place and doesn't start in park or neutral. When I get the NSS locked down with the quarter inch mounting screws with the tongue that enables the shifting to occur in place it all works and starts ok, however as soon as I shift the gear leaver the NSS moves and it all goes out of sync again. Does the body of the NSS have to sit in or recess into the square cut out of the actual steering column, it looks to me like it sits up too high. I appreciate your advice and enjoy your Jeep videos, its the same color as mine.... Cheers

      @JDOffline  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for the comment! Mine is a manual so I didn't have to deal with the NSS but it sounds like you are onto something by recessing it in that cut out. I would try that and see if that works. Sorry couldn't be of more help. JD
