    I have building harnesses for 30 yrs, before that I used Ron Francis harnesses. I like building mine because I can add relays and power distribution blocks etc and it's just cool building stuff. I used to sell my harnesses in the 90s and 2000s, at car shows and auto events, now I build them more as a hobby for mud boggers, drag racers, pulling trucks etc, I do pretty good by word of mouth.
    Your video was excellent, informative and should serve as a guide for DIYers, and that's one of the greatest benefits of CZcams. Thank you for the content.

      Interesting I see this comment. I’ve been looking into a Ron Francis harness for a 68 Cougar for a few years now just haven’t pulled the trigger. When you did use the Ron Francis were you satisfied with it? Chances are I will let a shop install the new harness when I get it. I would love to try myself but chances are it would take me forever 🤦🏾‍♂️

    • @phillipa7595
      @phillipa7595 Před 2 měsíci

      @powerband5235 I didn't have any issues. Besides a standalone harness for the engine from Bpautomotive, the chassis harness was my first wiring project. No sweat, everything pretty much laid right back in from where the original harness was. I did take out and unpin stuff I didn't need before like power windows, etc. But cannot complain, I don't see paying 800 dollars or so vs literally a hundred bucks shipped.

    • @phillipa7595
      @phillipa7595 Před 2 měsíci

      @powerband5235 quality wise only, painless is better, no doubt but..there were no loose connections, wire is average quality, I think it was a good purchase. I did change out the relays and fuses it came with because they were garbage.

I am also new to classic vehicles and dont want to sell myself short on the number of circuits. Also not looking to run power windows or seats. Basic stuff. However, I do see myself upgrading engine components which may need some new dash equipment. So my question is will a 21 Circuit be good enough or is it to much, not enough.......? Thx in advance

      @@WiredCustomsSpeedShop thanks man I will do that tomorrow. Keep up the strong work, you helped me wire new plug wires today, made them myself. I've never even seen a points car so this is totally new to me. Not easy to figure out the wiring when nothing is there, being foreign to cars, example I saw it has a restrictor mounted opposite of the distributor but the wires were chewed off at the voltage restrictor (regulator) so no clue how it was set up, no battery so I'm assuming it is a 12v system but restricted to 6v to the dash (going off one of your videos) but no way to confirm it. The good old fluke will be used more than ever before ha ha.
      I did check the omes with every wire and they were pretty consistent but is there a target reading to know the connection is solid?
