    This will go on the top of my bookmarkt. Thanks John. My guess the sample at 6:10 is Olafur Arnalds Felt Piano from Spitfire.

    Very clever - this is going to save tons of time if you do a lot of film orchestration and often work with the same composers / virtual instruments

      Actually Dorico does it much easier than so many others. i dont count studio one and notion link becouse does it not perfect at all indeed is only direct link but at least i dont know how easy is fix in Notion (i dont know if one thing is measure by measure thing or not i dont care anymore Notion much (i still found how they do it better) becouse have so much problems even its only one what have sound sets what play some jazz trumpet techniques back for example (doit etc)) but with Dorico my project in 5/4 note grouping (i dont rememer how it doed it wrong i dont remember i expected 2+3 when my song is 3+2) is super easy fix in Dorico.

    Can you import an audio file into Dorico from other DAWS or just a .wav file?

    I thought I left a comment! Apologies if repeated! Amazing new features and upgrading straight away! I was wondering how would these features work for a workflow based on key switches as opposite to different tracks for different articulations? Anyone has tried it? Thanks!

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 2 lety +2

      We don't currently convert key switches automatically although we are investigating the option. What to do on e.g. a legato passage might be interesting as you don't just want one giant slur!

      @Dorico I was wondering that for a while if there is any chance in future to translate CC Informations in dynamics like F P MF , cresc etc? Is hard from Midi to figure it out what actually dynamic the composer want. All my best and really loving Dorico 🎉

    Is the mac merely a preference choice for your streaming computer or does the entire team run macs? I would like to know, as there are some windows specific issues that tend to crop up.

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 2 lety

      It's a personal preference. The team as a whole is around 50/50 but the people who tend to do the online sessions personally prefer macs,

      @@dorico Right. Is it possible to put some most requested features from a new version into an older one? I want to have the instrument filter in Galley View, but I don't want to buy Dorico 4 just to have it, 3.5 has all the features I need.

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 2 lety

      @@rikipondi unfortunately not. Often a feature in a new version also uses new components that only exist in the newer version. We may well run discounted upgrade offers in the future if that helps - nothing at the moment though.

    Whoah - how did you get from 4 flutes to 2 flutes around the 14:00 mark ? What buttons did you push ? I tried some combinations and end up with 2 Long flutes in stead of 1 Long and 1 staccato

      You click on each of the 'instruments in track' and then choose the 'players in the Dorico project' that you want to assign it to. Follow the mouse clicks closely :)

    Will it import dynamic markings from the MIDI velocities?

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 2 lety

      No, although that might be something we could consider in the future. Variations in dynamics between parts (depending on the samples used) might make this interesting though. Dorico does import the CC or velocity data though.

      @@dorico idea for it use can define what dynamics are seen for example pp what is thinked when is 0-31 and p is is 32-63,mp is 64-127. and this is example but one problem at least eastwest hollywood depends articulation what dynamics are sampled also old vsl stuff is this way (i dont know if new vsl stuff is also becouse new ones no dynamic information anywhere). technique by tecnnique such setting i know needs lot of work but when is configured used libs is very fast after it. you have similar features for notathing technuques in midi improt what i mean and i know is realtive easy code even i think even i dont know how dorico fileformat is made.(not remember midi but its open standard unlike dorico formaat).

    Sometimes your head is hiding what you are selecting.
    I have tried XML import, I lose all my tracks names.
    It will be great that you offer the same possibility in XML import
