How to disassemble and replace the grease of a Manfrotto MVH502AH tripod fluid head.
I do not know what type of fluid it carries, but this works:

It is also known to work well: Dow Corning high vacuum grease, although I have not tried it yet

Desconozco que tipo de fluido lleva, pero esta funciona :

Es la alternativa para Europa a la nyogel 767A. Acabo de probar la oks 1110 y funciona perfecta. Antes lo había hecho con grasas ptfe y silicona y mal. De milagro tenía un tubito de oks 1110 ya en casa... pero hasta ver este vídeo no quise probar y posiblemente desperdiciarlo. Va perfecto

My 504x has a little oil coming out on the pan drag ring. Is that normal? Can the grease escape a little during transportation?

Fantastico, raro encontrar material sobre este tema (en mi opinion el fabricante podria tomarse la molestia de realizar algunos videos al respecto). Muy educativo y una prueba empirica de que esta cabeza realmente es fluida pese a estar en el rango de precio donde se podria poner en duda.

Hello! DowCorning can only be used if you use 502AH at> = + 5 ° C, if you use at
Indeed, when using the fluid head, you must bear in mind the operating temperature to choose the degree of viscosity...

However, if you or anyone else can help….I have attempted this with (3) same heads and CANNOT remove that disc@ 2:29 by hand or by using a screwdriver thru the underside while improvise other ways to apply addtl leverage (and yes I removed the “set screw” first)
It almost seems as if threadlocker(loctite) was applied to the thread, when assembled.

Did you get the disc loose? Have the same problem on mine.

Does anybody have a similar video for the Manfrotto Nitrotec N8? I have gone through three units so far (2 replaced under warranty). The dealer told me that they are not fluid heads and have rather cheap plastic parts inside and the grease becomes really sticky after some use. Sad cause I paid a very high price for mine.

What would prompt you to do this maintenance work? Did you notice any issues? Also, if it is routine, how often do you expect to need to regrease your head?
You only have to do it when you notice that the head has lost fluidity, due to the passage of time, the heat or the cold because it has gotten wet

Gracias, es un cabezal de tipo medio, yo lo uso habitualmente, no esta mal dado su precio.
Excelente video amigo gracias por aportar a la comunidad! queria recurrir a su sabiduría para ver si me puede ayudar con my fluid head MVH502AH, lo que pasa es que el mio ya no ajusta al 100% el tornillo de bloqueo del giro horizontal... lo ajusto al máximo pero igual el cabezal gira un poco y hace un chillido :/ espero su respuesta! tenga buen dia!
En el video se ve como opera ese tornillo de bloqueo del pan, desmonte y compruebe su desgaste, sui fuera necesario hay que sustituirlo.

Grazie. Per favore, i 3 pezzi di plastica che vanno sotto il foro vite, non si riesce a capire come rimontarli, essendo il video troppo veloce nella parte del smontaggio. Mi potresti dare una mano per favore?
Formano un quadrato, si montano con la parte triangolare rivolta verso l'interno, con la linea segnata sulla plastica verso l'esterno della scatola metallica dove si incastra, spero di averti aiutato, saluti
