    The screw fixing the plate interfered with the camera and could not turn.
    It is possible to solve with this movie!

    Well done, thank you!! That little noise from the tilt knob is disconcerting, so thanks for explaining why that happens! Great video, you covered every aspect of this pretty awesome video head.

    Thank you so much for your clear and extended information about the tripod that I just ordered for my new C100 M2. I will certainly come back here when I get the tripod. Stay sharing your knowledge, I like your way of doing this....

    Excellent review !!! I just ordered this head today, along with the Manfrotto MAT055CX PRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod, and the Celestron Regal M2 100ED Spotting Scope. I will be doing lots of digiscoping with the Audubon Club and also this summer during my 3-4 week trip up the Pacific Coast ... observing birds, whales and other wildlife, taking lots of pictures and videos.

    Here's a mistake: they don't cheap out making them in China. The quality is still there, it's just that taxes and labour are very cheap for them to move production in China. It's not easy when in Italy about half of your salary goes into taxes!

    Hi! I own a MVH502AH and MVM500A Manfrotto heads. Which quick release plate recommendation would you have for my situation? Apart from my tripod and monopod would be nice too to swipe my camera between slider/glidecam. Basically all my movement tools and just one small plate on the bottom of the camera. There's something like that in the market? Thank you so much!

    I was about to get the MHXPRO-2W Manfrotto fluid head to pair with my Siuri monopod and gh5 for shooting weddings but then someone said this fluid head is superior in panning/tilting BUT they say its a lot heavier... now I don't know which one to get lol.

    Hi. I just got a very good Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 with Manfrotto MVH502AH Professional Fluid Video Head. When I open it up and set it up on a perfectly level floor (already pre-measured with a builder's level) there is still a slight tilt of the camera (noticeable to the eye). Furthermore, when I remove the fluid head, I notice that the slider part of the head that attaches to the camera is also slightly off level from the rest of the head, as if it is not a precise snug fit in the track, even when it is clamped tight. Is this normal? When you look at the setup the camera looks a little cockeyed sitting on the mounted fluid head. How level are good quality tripods supposed to be right out of the box, or is it assumed, that, no matter what, even on a perfectly level floor, you are supposed to level the tripod anyway. Being that I just got it and it was a pricey setup, I am thinking of asking for an exchange. What would you do?

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  Před 7 lety

      These should not be slanted out of the box, given they're made to be quite durable. Does the bubble level on the 502 head itself show that it's perfectly leveled?

    • @Halunlimited
      @Halunlimited Před 7 lety

      The crazy thing is, If I make the head level facing forward, it will not be level when turned 180 degrees facing backwards. This would not be a problem with stills but would be a problem for panning video. Even though the sliding quick release is cast material, it appears to wobble slightly on a flat surface. So it's possible that tightening the clamp on it might actually make it change level out of whack. I'll ask for an exchange of the 502AH, and if it still does it, I may add a tripod leveling head base, but between the head and the camera, rather than between the tripod and the head. BTW I had also considered changing my tripod head setup to a built-in ballhead setup such as the Manfrotto MVH502A Fluid Head and MVT502AM Tripod or Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Head & 755XB Tripod. They're on the B&H website: But, then I'd have to give up the great flexibility features of my current Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 tripod which I think is superior ( It looks from the video like you have the same MT055XPRO3 tripod and I also have my new Canon 5Div on it), so probably, I would rather just pay 50 bucks to add a base leveler to my existing system. Then I would add the leveler between the head and the cameras rather than between the tripod and the head, as is normally done. Does that seem like a good solution if the replacement does not work perfectly? Do you think that configuration might cure the problem? Thanks for your interest and reply. Subbed and thumbs up. Hal

    Well done video. Just 1 thing though. The pan lock does not need much to unlock,.Just turn it 1/4 turn or less. Any more is unnecessary and it won't fall off.
    Its great when using fluid head without the handle. Its easy to lock and unlock the pan by just rocking the pan knob.

    Nice review, but i feel like this tripod would be too big/heavy for me. Do you have any other recomendations for manfrotto video tripods/heads? One suggestion, you should mention the price tag next time ;)

    • @zy_cheng
      @zy_cheng  Před 9 lety

      This head is about $200 :)
      For a smaller video head you can go for the MVH500AH, its really just like a smaller version of this, with less counterbalance and no drag controls. That head is only $170 though. For a good tripod I'd recommend the Manfrotto 294.

    Is not that head a bit of overkill for that camera and lens ? Guess it is the "luck of the draw" with Manfrotto, mine was made in Italy...
