My first year of college, I was on the dean’s list and the first semester of my second year, I pretty much flunked out due to some family issues and returned back a year later for 1/2 a semester before withdrawing. if you want to go into ob, you will go in "general" track for an ultrasound program, this will train you to be a general registered diagnostic medical sonographer. . you will need to go through the training of abdominal ultrasound and ob/gyn, theres not avoiding learning to scan everything else.thats basically all organs except heart and some vascular. once you finish you will take whatever board exam, in this case itd be ob/gyn. i took both. and you can go specialize in ob like me!

    This looks like such an interesting career field. Do you work with needles or have to see surgeries at all? • @KristyDMS
      @KristyDMS  Před 5 lety +2

      Hey! We do not always work in a surgery setting or with needles. Those are usually with procedures thatt need ultrasound to guide it. For example, amniocentisis, HSG, biopsies.... those are needles or cathethers that use ultrasound to guide the object in. those usually arent very traumatizing as it isnt dealing with major bleeding. those are usually in a hospital setting though. no procedures will be like that in a outpatient setting generally.

Meaning, you don’t necessarily have to get a bachelors for this career. However, if you want to, you can. At my college, you first take general classes required before you can apply to the program. So English, math, biology, anatomy, etc. Once those are completed you apply to the actual RDMS program. So the program is in college. :)
