Ernst Roets: Expropriation without compensation is racist theft

  • Ernst Roets, deputy CEO of AfriForum calls the ANC and EFF's policy of expropriation without compensation a 'destructive, dishonest, ahistoric, racist theft policy.' This follows on Parliament's that the South African constitution should be amended to allow for expropriation of private property without compensation. AfriForum responded, saying that it would warn the international community that their investments are not safe in South Africa and call on investors to put pressure on the South African government not to continue with this policy.

      Stefan Kruger when it was obtained illegally. Yes, why do you feel it’s an attack? If you compensate a thief It’s like they stole twice.

      There is no logic to assume and put all white people under the same umbrella to say because they are white they have stolen the property , what if they worked for it got a job got a bond? Or their parents did too... you are saying they cant have property based on white is associated automatically with being a thief? Is it the same logic to assume most criminals are black in this country and thieves too if you look at the evidence?

    • @ackshonlife
      @ackshonlife Před 6 lety +1

      Robert Koch I understand your point but illegal is illegal. You can’t hand down stolen property then claim rightful ownership. If thats the case everyone will still something and then move it to there kids to prevent law enforcement seizing it. You can’t do that. If I steal your home and put it in my kids name how does that make it legal ? Also if black people tried to use that loop hole whites would be screaming foul on that because all they have to do is go to a white farmer, take ownership of the land then leave it to their kids. The problem is white people feel entitled to the world as if they are the rightful owners of everything. YOU ARE NOT....

    • @stefankruger8133
      @stefankruger8133 Před 6 lety +1

      @mike Whether you like it or not... black people never enjoyed private ownership of land!
      It was allocated to them by their own leaders.
      Changing the constitution will only open up the door for government to take ANY land, whether it was stolen or not is irrelevant!! The ANC with its backwards Marxist ideology wants to build a black elite class to rule over all!!

    • @ackshonlife
      @ackshonlife Před 6 lety

When you bring the level of understanding down to primary school level is what is needed for everyone to understand. Thus you get people following just for the sake of following and never really knowing why, purely because intelligent discussion go's over their heads. Hardly any African country could fulfill its promises towards the people that elected them, hence why there's so much conflict and strife throughout the continent. The talk is also that if this disastrous and draconian law ever has to pass, which many doubt will be the case, the government will not give private ownership to those people who is given land. The government will have a 99yr lease on it and this is clearly socialism in the making which has failed throughout history!!!!!!

      Most property changed hands in the last 20 years and that happened after the getting the view on buying property from the democratically elected black government. Guys,I am black in appearance, grew up in a coloured community as my parents are mixed race in all three main race types in SA. I believe in being honest in order to have a healthy and productive future not only for us,but for our future generations as well. I am against white farmers losing their land this way,there is a solution,but we need to put our race-cards away and speak openly and civil to one another.

    Can anybody clarify whether a farmer will still owe the bank any outstanding mortgage/bond money if their land is expropriated without compensation? Or whether the government will settle the outstanding debt? Or will the bank simply have to write off the debt? This would also include any outstanding debt on equipment the farmer financed such as tractors, harvesters etc, because I’m under the impression that all of this agricultural equipment will be seized along with the land, unless I’m mistaken.
    This is not made explicitly clear in any discussions or articles. The term ‘without compensation’ certainly implies that the state will not settle any outstanding balance on the former land-owner’s mortgage/bond/equipment finance loans etc, but I’ve yet to see a clear legal interpretation of this question.

      My life haven't turned to crap and I've touched it since I was born and why do you people never mention Namibia, that's been run by blacks since before South Africa? It hasn't turned to crap so you never mention it. And if you knew anything about economics you'd know that it's the white Western nations that are bankrupt and are only surviving on easy credit, but not for much longer. Here's what England was like before the easy credit boom from 1987 onward: czcams.com/video/m1H5tfUOYBY_/video.htmlwhite_poverty_UK_1985
      I used to feel sorry about the white poor but not any more thanks to people like you convincing me that poverty is somehow linked to some sort of genetic deficiency. Your people are failing *now* worldwide that's why your all getting so uppity. Your unlimited credit card is about to expire and you subconsciously fear that you're granddaughter is going to end up selling her body to some Chinese guy to make ends meet in a couple of decades and that's whether you're in a 9% minority white country or a 95% majority white country. No one will have any sympathy for you as you are the most heartless creatures that have ever existed. You enjoy black poverty and suffering and need it to continue to maintain your own sense of self-esteem.

Because they are not under sanctions. Even an oil rich Qua-tar will end up in poverty if it’s sanctioned. Zimbabwe was heavily sanctioned by the west, which is why it’s in a bind.

    The Natives Land Act (No. 27 of 1913) was passed to allocate only about 7% of arable land to Africans and leave the more fertile land for whites. This law incorporated territorial segregation into legislation for the first time since Union in 1910.

      Section 25: Property
      No one can have their property taken away from them unless this is done according to a law (e.g., legally expropriating private property).
      Land Reform Section 25 also deals with land reform. It says the government must make laws and take other steps, to help people or communities to get land to live on, and to claim back land, if they lost it after 1913 and they lost it because of an apartheid law. Up to December 1998, in such cases people were able to claim the land back or compensation for the land.
      Labour tenants If a person has been living on land which they were not allowed to own because of apartheid laws, they will now be able to own this land or be paid compensation for it. An example of this is people who live on farms as labour tenants. The Extension of Security of Tenure Act has been passed by the government which gives labour tenants certain rights in terms of Section 25.

Excuse me, but please do you research on the expulsion of the Hyksos in Ancient Egypt who had controlled Lower Egypt for over 200 years. They were kicked out of Egypt which ushered in the middle kingdom, which was a GOLDEN AGE in Ancient Afro-Kemetic (Egyptian history). Ernst must stop misleading people with tired rhetoric.

You tell those who you oppressed, for years, that all is well, and that we should all just get along. Yet you are not willing to do things that make people whole that will allow them to build generation wealth and now you want to complain because of the things you refused to is being done by force? And for those who will tell me i need to mind my own business, i am just saying this in hopes that you guys will avoid the problems that the USA has had. Oh and he is wrong, the state owning property has worked and it is working in China. In China the state owns the land and it can be taken from anyone at any time and no one will say that China is not a wealthy country.
