- Yamaha scored a big hit with their MT-09 naked bike and it was obvious that the platform would be developed into more models. First to appear is the MT-09 Tracer; a more touring orientated bike. Mat takes it for a blast and comes away very impressed.

Great review as always. I can't wait for the new and improved 2019 Tracer 900GT which will be available mid 2018. Better styling & windscreen, cruise control, heated grips along with all new improved suspension. Can't wait to have a go on one as well as seeing you review. Any chance your full show will be available for viewing in N. America?

One question, why hasn't you tested the BMW F800GT? You mention it but hasn't tested it.

FJ-09, versys 650, fz-09 or fz-07. Which one is better. I'm on a KLR right now and looking to upgrade.

Check the Yamaha website. I believe they do make cowlings and mid-sized windshields for the fz09.
If you want some decent fuel range, the FZ is not the bike for that. FJ or Versys 650 both have better range. 4.75 gal and 5.5 gal respectively.

GSX-S1000/F is basically a superbike for the street. FJ/Tracer is around 30 hp less, 20+ torque less, and has long travel suspension for messy road surfaces and touring. Different bikes.
GSX-S1000/F is more comparable to the Z1000SX.
115 hp in the Tracer
145 hp in the GSX-S
Tracer stands tall and comfortable
GSX-S is more dedicated and sporty, with some comfort
Tracer has nice wide gear ratios, for crawling along or for lower revs at highway speeds
GSX-S has a tall 1st gear and higher revs at highway speed, although doing just over 40 mpg in most reviews.
Please God, if you love me, you will allow the U.S. to get this color with the anodized blue forks in the future!

The Honda maybe boring to your taste but it a very good bike (crosstour 800x) I'm referring to, give me the Honda and you can keep your Wheel's.

Great review guys I bought mine last month. It's such a fun bike but I found 45 minutes on the saddle is about the limit for my body and need a break. If you're interested here is a dedicated Tracer forum motrider.com

I had MT09 Tracer for 2h demo. Bike has been returned after 25 minutes. I did not like it at all. :)
