  • Using the latest in grip technology and molding techniques, ProTaper’s Clamp-On Grip System offers the comfort and control of traditional grips with the added advantage of quick, effortless installation. The design eliminates the need for glue and safety wire, yet ensures durable, slip-free performance. ProTaper’s super-slim clutch side Windowed Core not only minimizes the outer grip diameter, but also delivers critical relief areas for the palm and fingertips. The result is increased impact and vibration damping over competing solid-core designs, leading to significantly improved rider comfort and control. The grip surface utilizes and extra-supple, tacky compound that is seamlessly molded to the inner core. This provides maximum comfort and traction and alleviates blistering. A firmer compound is used in the flange and endcap areas to resist crash damage and reduce wear.

    I got the pillow top clamp on grips and i had the odi rogue lock ons before and i have to say i prefer the odi rogues because it is thicker and softer and to me the protaper is too thin and small for my hand and it isnt as comfortable also the donuts give my thumb knuckles blisters and i had to put grip donuts where as the odis are have softer donuts and dont give me blisters overall the odi rogues are more comfortable and vibration dampening than the protaper ones and i will go back to using the odis after.

    Do the ends pop out for bark busters? Also, why don't lock on grips find a way to incorporate throttle tamers?

    Is there anyway to use these with the Protaper twister throttle tube? I see the throttle grip has the tube built in so not sure how that would workout...

    • @rmatvmc

      These are designed for dirt bikes only due to the throttle side being a larger diameter. We do offer several lock on grips specific to ATVs. Here's the link www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/atv-grips

    I have a G2 Throttle tamer on my 2016 KTM XCF. Do you know if the pro taper grip will work on the G2 throttle tamer?

    • @eliworks8549
      @eliworks8549 Před 5 lety

      These will not work for you. You need to reuse the throttle tube and replace just the grip. These replace the whole unit.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 4 lety

      Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Pro Taper lock on grips. The part that clamps on the bar is plastic vs metal and I've hard them slipping. I would go with the regular pillow top lite. - Chase

    Hi Chase, I have one question. How do they compare to the Odi Emig V2 lock on grips and which one do you prefer?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 6 lety

      Jarno Terpstra 👋!! If you’re comparing These to the Emigs, here is what I would say. They are thinner than the Emigs and about the same hardness. Since I have smaller hands I would prefer the pro taper. If you want a softer compound AND and thinner feel than the Emig, go with the ODI V2 in the grey or the white. Those two colors are a softer compound than the other colors. I use the all white and love them. However, the V2 in my opinion won’t last as long as the pro taper. Let me know if you have more questions. -chase

    The protaper half waffle clamp-ons are total crap. They are so thin it feels like you have no grips at all. What where they thinking?!
