    I like the pro taper pillow top feel but the end is prone to tearing for those of us who like to lay it down🤙🏻

    Renthal dual compound sport bike grips for hard enduro. Open ends for full wrap guards. I don't know why but they are really good.

    I've always just used the $15 pro taper diamond pattern grips. They've held up really well, and I like the diamond grip. They look cool too. I might try the pillow top next time around. Thanks!

    I actually have relatively large hands but I also work with my hands so much the gurth of my knuckles an fingers from years of bruising n scarring I actually love the smooth grips like the Scott's grips being a little smaller they fit nicer.

    @96joe Před 6 lety

    👍👌 they’re all awesome grips. I remember using 909 and Scott grips back in the day my favorite go to grips are Emig Odi. My second go to grips are the Renthal Kevlar tapered I ran those for years I agree with Chase they seem to get more grippy over time and last for ever. Only problem and reason I changed to the odi grips is if you haven’t rode in a while the Kevlar seam to be a tad bit more abrasive on the hands (I kinda have girly hands 😂).

    Do lock on grips feel bigger? Also, what's your method of punching out the ends to accommodate wrap around guards?

    Great video Chase, personally I don't really like the Emig odi grips I find them very hard on the hands and i don't like that it is part of the throttle tube as well, I like riding with the Renthal full waffle gripe one you don't have in this video, it has lots of grip on the palm of the hand and the fingers since the rubber is a bit sticky so we have a great feel of the bike (and i fined it reduces arm pump), tell me what you think please I would love to have your opinion on them👍

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 6 lety

      Zak, we actually had the Rentahl full waffle in our Grip Guide video. I've never used them, but I can tell they're soft and comfortable just from taking them out of the package. As for the reducing arm pump, that's interesting. A lot of people talk about how the full waffle makes the grip feel larger which for most riders gives more arm pump. But hey, whatever works for you! I know that Tomac looooves the full waffle and that is all he uses. I've tried a lot of grips over the years and I have just a couple that i stick to. V2 lock on and the Torc1 lock on. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I am curious about the protaper lock-on grips that just came out I use their protaper pillow top lites grips right now and I love those so I am curious if the lock on style is a has the same outside diameter as the light grips or the normal full-on pillow top grips

    If you haven't tried the Renthal Kevlar Grips, I suggest you do!!! I'm very picky with my grips and I've tried almost all of them, the kevlar grips feel awesome and sticky but they are also very durable

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 6 lety

      I have tried them and you're right. Very grippy feel to them and they do last. My only complaint is that for me, they do feel a little larger than some other grips. It's not a huge difference, just something i've felt. I have smaller hands so I try for to find the thinnest grip i can. Thanks for watching!-Chase

    I like the pillow top lite because its black and black would fit my bike better then gray, but i have big hands so the pillow top would fit me better. Any suggestions?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 6 lety +1

      *Gunnar Pierce* the ProTaper (Original) Pillow Top would suit you better. Even though they do not come in black in that style, your black gloves will be covering up that gray pillow top and will be feeling great on the bike! The OG Pillow Top from ProTaper is what I would recommend for a larger hand. Thanks

      @rmatvmc  Před 5 lety

      Pro taper has their new clamp grip with the pillow top design. I've been using the new Emig Pro from ODI and I really like that grip. There aren't really any grips other than the Pro Taper that I can think of that have a pillow top style design. Maybe check these out www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/spider-grips-slx-slim-mx-grips-p

  • @sceriffo28
    @sceriffo28 Před 5 lety

    Chase, I run the odi on my husky fe 250 '17 and now on my fe 350 '19. It is true they are so convenient in terms of installation but...they are NOT durable; if you tip over (pretty common while doing some hard enduro) the plastic tube, to which the grip is glued, will crack immediately. Very disappointed, I am gonna purchase an aluminum or titanium gas tube and the get some more durable grips (like renthal with kevlar). What do you think?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 5 lety

      Dr. Mangano, sorry to hear about that experience. I have to admit, I've never used them in hard enduro and that type of terrain can be pretty hard on any grip. I've had plenty of crashes and tip overs with the V2 lock on and they do show some damage, but i've never broken the plastic end cap. Maybe I just haven't had a bad enough crash (knock on wood). An aluminum or ti throttle tube with a Renthal Kevlar grip would definitely be a durable combo. But I would check out the NEW Emig Pro lock on grip if you haven't already. They have a molded piece of aluminum on the end of the plastic sleeve that makes them even more durable than the regular V2 or the old Emig grips. I've been using them and I love them!-Chase
