Sick. I'm getting these. I race enduros/hare scrambles so I'm definitely gonna have to get rid of the end cap. I've done it with other grips using a hole saw the exact same size of inner diameter of the grip.

Contrary to what's said in the video, the ends knock-out really cleanly for full wrap guards. The remaining plastic outside of the aluminum has a nice taper to it like it was manufactured for this purpose. The aluminum end caps also must be scored or something similar. Much cleaner than the old style, which didn't always knock-out cleanly, and the rubber would sometimes separate a little.

I bought my bike with these installed by the previous owner. That end cap came out rather easy.... what I didnt know at the time was the right grip being the throttle tube... I purchased a G2 dirt tamer throttle and now I am kinda stuck. Buy another set just to use the clutch side on the throttle, or change grips all together..... kinda torn because if I go with another set of these and ever need to replace them, I won't buy 2 more sets to make 1... wish they sold 2 clamp style together!!!

Just installed a set and the throttle seems to plunge into the housing about an 1/8” as if there is space in there. Is this normal or what did I do wrong because old grips didn’t to it ?

The end caps dont remove for us off road HS racers with full wrap hand guards? Kind of a step back IMO. Was about to purchase some. Good for the track guy only group I suppose. Thanks for making sure to point that flaw out.

Jason Padgett Thanks for leaving a comment Jason. But having a plastic end cap w a metal end cap is not a “flaw”, this grip is designed w a mx/sx racer in mind. 99.9% of racers would not run full wrap hand guards. The end cap design is actually more durable than before. If you like the grip design, and you want to run full wrap hand guards, simply take Dremel and cut the end cap off. It should leave you with a clean cut w no end cap. If you decide to try it, make a video and send it to me, I would love to see how it comes out. 👍🏼

Jeff Emig what is the best method to knock out the end cap on the original version? I just bought my first set of ODI lock on’s but I run full wrap handguards. Wanted to get the down low b4 starting the install. Thanks you Legend !!

@@jamesbramblett3346 on the original, you can just score them with a blade and knock them out. I just installed the original myself and also use full wrap for hare scramble races. The end caps on the original are plastic.
