      The ac is great on my 04 200 k miles there’s 2 things that’s wrong with it if you let it sit with the ac on it gets hot but if your moving like on any road it’s ice cold and the air in my truck is not blowing as hard as it should idk if it’s a flap or something else

      A/C in my Ram 1500 Classic is running nice here in the Southwest. I also just deleted the clutch fan and upgraded the electric fan so it cools the compressor fast. Any black vehicle with black interior and black leather seats is going to take longer to cool down. Also a dash mat helps reduce the heat the dash absorbs.

      I came across a video, it may have been here, to install an air cabin filter. You buy the cap/door and the filter, cut out the closed space behind the glove box and you’re done. Anyways, I did the install because I was getting all of the odors from vehicle exhaust living in a city. I do feel like I gave up some of the ability for my a/c to blow stronger, the vents seem to be a bit weaker.

      I have 51,000 on it and I feel it takes a bit of time to cool down but not too bad. my truck is silver so there is less heat absorption ...I wonder if the ceramic tint really would make a difference. I have thought about getting that.

    I’m a truck driver. They use to do that with trucks too. You might even be able to find some of the older trucks that still have that valve. They do a pretty good job. Unless there is something different in the system I don’t see that causing any problems. Good luck to you.

    I did this to my 2020 RAM 1500 2 years ago and it helped a little bit. It is still not as good as my wife's car, or other cars I've been in, but it is a noticeable difference at least. I was told to open the valve every year or so to keep mold and stuff from growing in the evaporator.

    This just closed the deal on the new 2022 RAM 1500 I was looking at. I'm in AZ and the last 2 times I refreshed my Jeep Grand Cherokee for a new model I was on the fence with buying a RAM 1500 but the biggest complaint from the wife and kids was the rear A/C. The Ford F-150 seemed like it had much stronger A/C especially for the rear seat passengers but I didn't like the way the F-150 was laid out or drove. With low inventory everywhere except the Jeep/RAM dealers I wanted the new 2022 RAM 1500 but the wife said no. I showed her this and she signed off on the deal. Thank you for posting this really helpful.

    The AC on my 2019 Ram SUCKED! I went on a road trip from FL to AZ to FL in May and paid the price. I also had a water leak in the cab since the truck was new. The stealership and Safelite couldn't figure out where it was leaking after 3 attempts over the course of 3 years, so I got fed up and bought a new '22 Ford F150. My F150 blows so cold that my glasses fog up during the day in the middle of August in FL. Big difference!

    I live in Vegas and have a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie. My number 1 complaint has been the A/C. I know exactly what you’re talking about. What makes it worse is that mine has the Etorque system so it has auto stop/start. When I stop the engine turns off even if the A/C is on! And it starts blowing hot air. IN the Vegas summer!! So I obviously turn off the auto stop/start function to avoid that. But the A/C still sucks. I have ceramic limo tint and that barely helped. I’ll tell the dealership next time I get my oil changed! Hope you have fun in Vegas! I’ll look for your truck in the streets lol

    I have a have had a 2018 ram 1500 and I now have a 2020 ram 1500. I will say my 18 ac worked way better than my 20. I felt my ac was subpar even for what people have had so I took it in since it was still under warranty. Turned out my blower motor had a short in it and my compressor was leaking. It works significantly better. Oh I should add I live in Texas and it’s been over 100 degrees multiple days and I have a navy blue truck so it just bakes. I did consider doing the TSB since it was still under warranty but after hours of research and scrolling through discussion post most the people that have had it done say there no significant difference. So I didn’t feel like having my dash taken apart for something that may not help. I don’t idle as much as you do so when I use my thermometer when driving my vents get between 45-48degrees coming out on max ac. Which I can’t complain I guess. When at idle it does increase about 10 degrees but I have never seen it go to 80 like you have. I will add my parents neighbor is a mechanic for a ram dealership and I was talking to him about it. He said that the new trucks have the new freedon in them. And according to him it’s less efficient than the old which is why it loses performance at idle.

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler Před 2 lety

    Mr. Wheeler, as always,good to see you sir. Great video. Of course it doesn’t get as hot here in Pittsburgh compared to what you have to deal with on a daily basis,but it’s good to know there’s something out there to deal with Rams ac units not getting cold enough. Also watched your other video on test driving a Ford 150 Lightning. For your everyday use , it was probably not the truck for you right now. Doubt it will be in my lifetime, but EVs are coming. But our nations infrastructure, in my opinion is decades from being able to handle that type of load nation wide. As always,great to see you, take care my friend.

    I have a 2019 Ram Laramie Longhorn and live in Phoenix. The AC is sub par at best. The badge on the center console lid has branded my arm more than once during the summer. (Brilliant to slap a big piece of solid metal on the console). The truck takes forever to cool down. I have also had a heater core go bad and the dealer tried to get the evaporator replaced since they know that they are a issue. They also know I have the unlimited year unlimited mile MOPAR warranty and I am going to run this truck until the value of the truck falls below the warranty repair value. Milne had 127k now.

They said it would be a $225 diagnostic fee just to look at my truck and tell me if there's anything wrong with it and if there was, what would be covered under warranty. Ridiculous. on my 2019 Laramie ds i like to clean my cabin filter every 5-6000km and you would be surprised at how much stuff gets in it. you can get different types of filters for them some are more restricting then others because they have more cleaning ability so have a look at what best suits you, definitely don't run without one as you will clog up your cooler core. it's behind the glove box and has arrows showing up for the direction of air flow.

      Think your climate control is not in "Sync" which is in the climate section in the infotainment center....mine changes every once and a while and that happens

      @@hexdookhay3369 just go to your uconnect stereo and select "climate"...when it opens look for a "sync" and select it and it will make both sides the same (it's an option for separate climates in the cabin). If that doesn't fix or you don't have that option it, it's something else. Good luck
