Exactly everyone was saying how Hamilton kept the tires alive and his performance despite Verstappen driving aggressively and kept the tires going for far longer.
You guys do realize that Verstappen didn't had a Ferrari and a Mercedes on fresher tyres behind him :)
Pirelli said 50 laps at most, Max just got on with it and saved his tires, he wasn't really pushing after passing Perez

That lock up could be due to lower downforce because he was right on verstappen's rear, just like vettel at silverstone, atleast that is one of the excuses that were given to the vettel verstappen incident

Perez had an even longer second stint than Hamilton, and his lap times in the final stages of the race were remarkable. Him and Ricciardo were pulling away from Hülkenberg at a rate of about a second per lap. A few laps more and they would have caught up with Verstappen again.
For all the memes about the Mexican fans, you have to admit that this year, Perez truly lived up to the hype and delivered an outstanding home race.

A stalled car on the grid is very dangerous, you can't see past the car in front much from the low driving position, so when the car in front swerves around a stalled car, the following driver has almost no reaction time. A driver near the front will at least be moving if he has anti-stall, by the time the back of the grid catches him.

Just gonna say something regarding Albon outscoring Verstappen after summer break. Yes, Max has had 2 dnf's. But if we strip Albon of his 2 best results to almost emulate dnf's, he's down to 36 points, Verstappen on 39. So yeah, Albon's doing amazingly in relative terms :)

I don't think they test the hards, because you gonna go on a stint, maybe 12-15 laps: The hard tire is not gonna move one bit. We saw it lasting 50+ laps this weekend. You gotta use your time to get to know the other 2 tires and perfect the setup. And Pirelli said the 2 stop would be faster, so clearly they also thought the hard would fall off more/earlier. And lets not forget that qualifying is so important in the modern times of F1, so they focus on that AND there was almost no dry running in FP3. Just all coming together to no one understanding the hard tire and use winging it.
