It was a good Monaco race. Kudos to Vettel and Max for ending the 1-2s at last. Great to see McLaren doing so well.

The only reason the 1-2 streak ended was because max hit bottas in the pits.
Megatron the only reason they even had a 1-2 streak was because Leclerc’s engine broke in Bahrain

Danni did so well to close 40 secs to Grojean in 30 laps on mediums that were 67 laps old. Doing the fourth fastest lap of the day on his last lap too. So he is my DOD.

His "luck" is more about the muppets at Ferrari constantly screwing up.
My opinion on Leclerc is he hasn't been up to how he should perform this season. While qualifying in Monaco wasn't his fault, I think he isn't as great as everybody hypes him up to be. I don't think luck has anything to do with him, just his skill. But that's my opinion.
Jacob Wilhelm but that would also mean that Vettel is underperforming as hell. They are pretty much the same speed all the time (sometimes leclerc is a bit faster, then Vettel again) and Vettel has been in this team for ages. So if Leclerc underperforms, Vettel does as well 🤔 just saying
Anyhow, if Vettel and Leclerc are underperforming, then we shouldn‘t even start talking about the ferrari team...
But I agree with you, the hype has been too much, but that‘s the time we live in. Everything is either black or white, the best or the worst ever.

For the people who blame Max for that pitstop release, it is not his fault! If the team says Go! You go, u dont look over your shoulder to see if someone is there. And for redbull it was this or waiting for Bottas AND vettel otherwise it would’ve been a unsafe release on vettel. So he would’ve been fourth in every situation. RBR could’ve told max: watch bottas on your right but thats RB’s fault!

Sorry but mirrors exist. It's not the unsafe release the main issue. The main issue here was the push by max to the wall wich damaged bottas' car. He had some space to his left.

@@neustrasen1980 you do realize that he probably wasn't able to see bottas till very late because there was a pitcrew in the way, and the f1 mirrors are not very great. Furthermore after he realizes bottas was there he jumped out of the way. The reason they gave him the penalty was because if something worse happened due to the unsafe release it could've injured people in the pitlane and unfortunately the only penalties they have in place are for the driver even though it is the teams responsibility. This was by no means max' fault.

Can we acknowledge how good Toro Rosso was this weekend? Torpedo #7, Dr. Albon #8. With this tempo they have a good chance at challenging for F 1.5 title.

The moment Leclerc was knocked out at Q1, you knew he was going to come out aggressive. Sadly, I think we also all knew that if he kept rolling the dice it was gonna end in disaster sooner or later. At least he made those early laps really hype.

It's called suspense. It was about the constant feeling that anything could go wrong at any moment, even if in the end it didn't.
People talk how unlucky Charles was, but it was his mistake as well. Did you see how fast he was going with a puncture?Do you remember how Alonso handled 2 punctures last year in Baku?He drove slow, didn't damage his floor that much and finished in points...Such a rookie move from Charles.

Why do people feel bad for Lecrec? Yes, Ferrari screwed up His quali on Saturday but he was 100% responsible for his performance in the race. He was being impatient, miscalculated so many times and destroyed his car when he rushed to the pits after his puncture.

Honestly, bit of cheeky tactics from Mclaren. Lando could in fact have driven faster, but intentionally slowed down the midfield behind him in order to secure Sainz' position. A bit of the middle finger to especially Magnussen And Ricciardo if i'm gonna be honest
This. There is an article about it, he knew overtaking was pretty much not going to happen and he was just outside the points so he played the team game which is actually fairly surprising as you are usually directly compared to your teammate. But he's shown his colors towards teams in general which has value.

@@nicko123454 True, but then again. F1 is ultimately about the money and publicity I would say. Having a McLaren in P6 is not only good for points (=championship money) but also good PR for the brand. It's very unsportsmanlike indeed but.. it's allowed unfortunately.

9:33 When i saw the race i thought stroll left a gap for Bottas but he didn't take it so then he had to wait, just how i felt watching this moment in the race
I felt like that on lap 76 when Max tried to overtake Lewis, Max wasn't much closer than on the laps before. But Lewis got a Haas in front of him in the braking zone. Such a tense moment that was!

Tim Hoefnagel I would say he’s a bit overrated, but remember that he still is new to F1 and if you look at Verstappen’s first couple of years, where he was straight up dangerous, as well as Hamilton’s first year where he messed up simple things ie China 2007.

It kinda felt like 92. Max certainly didn't have as much of an advantage as Mansel did and it wasn't as brilliant from Lewis. But Max gave it his best try and the whole time I was wondering if he would get close enough to make it.

Yes, when cars just blow up it's a spectaculair race! Michael bay would approve. But if you didn't enjoy the tenseness of Monaco 2019, you're not really a F1 fan (or even a motorsport fan. Monaco 2019 was real tense for me, an amazing drive from Hamilton, fabulous fighting from Verstappen, a lot going on in the mid-field... I really enjoyed this one!
Unfortunate Max got the penalty? That penalty was a slap in the wrist given that it was an unsafe released and it ruined Bottas's race and damaged his car. Gio on the other hand got 10 sec penalty for spinning the williams A smaller infringement than Redbull's unsafe release. FIA WHERE IS THE CONSISTENCY.

If you listen to the complete radio exchange with LH throughout the race, he barely complained about his tires. FOM/Liberty just highlighted the couple times he mentioned it. Most of the time he was complaining about backmarkers.
