Airline: British Airways
Flight: BA458 (callsign "Speedbird 71MA")
Aircraft: Boeing 777-200 G-VIIN
From: London Heathrow (LHR)
To: Madrid (MAD)
Departure: 07:56
Arrival: 10:47
Flight Time: 1:51
Seat: 11K
Flight Path: infl.it/b7hv4
Our journey today begins at the pod parking at Heathrow's Terminal 5. We take the 4 minute journey on the Heathrow Pod from our parking space right into the terminal building, before heading through the airport and making our way to the British Airways Galleries South Lounge. After breakfast we take the shuttle train to the C concourse, where our aircraft for today, Boeing 777-200ER G-VIIN is waiting for us to board.
We board the aircraft, taking our seat in the Club World cabin, in seat 11K. This is a rear facing flat bed seat just in front of the engine. We are given a hot towel prior to pushback, and the captain welcomes us aboard, explaining that the route is normally operated by a smaller aircraft but we are lucky today to have the long haul Boeing 777. We push back and make our way to runway 9R, before the powerful GE90 engines spool up and quickly lift us away from Heathrow and to the south. From there we are given a clearance direct to Southampton, after which we are handed from London Control to Brest Control over the English Channel.
Breakfast service today is a full English breakfast, served as we cross the Channel. We head towards Britanny and Brest, hitting an area of moderate turbulence over Britanny. From there we head across the Bay of Biscay, being handed off to Madrid control. We cross the Spanish coast overhead Santander, before we commence our approach towards Madrid. It's unusually cloudy and rainy in Madrid, as we descend through the clouds getting a fantastic view of the mountains to the north of Madrid. We make a smooth touchdown on runway 18R, before being cleared to taxi to our remote stand. Once on stand we are treated to disembarking via air stairs in front of the huge GE90 engine, and getting the bus to the terminal before we take the underground train from the satellite pier to the main terminal, and exiting the terminal to the taxi rank in front of the terminal.

Fell asleep on the sofa, woke up 3 hours later in Madrid. Ah the wonders of modern technology.
Probably 🤐
I love flying. The airport, the random purchase of magazines I’d never usually buy, the engines opening up to power down the runway, the flying, everything about it. 👌🏻 ❤
i’ve never flown before and this gave me confidence in flying! thank you definitely subscribing
I have watched quite a few of your full flight vids now, drink on the side, headphones on with some cool tunes, and your flight to far away lands. A great way to relax.
I like how many of these people are talking about the pod xD
I am not an aviation buff or expert but find these videos so relaxing while i work from home and i do wonder if we will ever get back to those days of walking around without a mask and no social distancing-so nice to see people queing next to each other- Thank You Noel
These pod's are really cool! Never saw them before :D
They are pretty cool! I've used them before but wanted to include them in the video this time :)
I love the full flight videos, including arriving at the airport, walking to the terminal, boarding, AND waiting for pushback... its the real deal experience. I absolutely love all of the ambient cabin sounds, the clicking of cabinets, the bells ringing and voices of the crew. 1st and business are my favorite because i enjoy viewing the service, especially BA. thank you so much for inviting us to join you on your full flight experience!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy the videos, you're always welcome onboard :D
Poopopopppo
Very enjoyable thank you.

Another picture- perfect flight! Nice spot-on view of the reverse thrusters doing their thing upon touchdown. Great relaxing video!
Thank you :) I wanted to make sure I got a good view of the awesome GE90s :)
I love these videos! It would be nice to see some more flights to and from Asia, like China, Japan, etc... Keep up the great work :D
I am definitely up for Japan, hoping to travel there soon :) 🇯🇵 🇯🇵

I really enjoyed the trip thank you for presenting it.
This is the largest schedule visitor to my island in the Caribbean, BA has a flight from London Gatwick with one stop over...i have never been on a 777 but some day, i have been to the UK in 1996 but those were days of the 747 service to the islands, now its the 777...awesome video i really enjoy your stuff :) !!!
Thanks you for these videos amazing!!! 💜💜💜
Thanks for watching! Appreciate your comments :)
Love your videos 👍
This boeing 777 have takeoff sound like the boeing 747 !!! I love it !!!
Great video!
Thanks :)
Didn't think I'd be able to enjoy this, but I was wrong. Very relaxing, almost as if I were there in person.
That pod system is kind of weird and futuristic looking. I had no idea Heathrow had that system.
my Mom rode it, but got yelled at since she wasn't parking in the lot. I used to be obsessed with PRT, remember tracking this heathrow project when they built it. Did you know that there's one at West Virginia University (the first ever, opened in 1975, and the only one until Heathrow)
Been there a few years now..connects a few hotels and business parking...kinda cool to ride one...
@@isaacalvarez9401 Yes Morgantown, been there.

Wow those pods are cool
i like to go there just ride the pods lol
Haha they are pretty cool, and you can just ride them from the terminal all day long if you are ever at LHR :)

Thanks Darryl, glad you liked it!
Congratulations for the nice videos

Hi. The self-driving pods. Those are so cool. Never knew they exist. Usually arrive by Piccadilly line. Didn’t know those exist. So cool.
Fantastic video! I will be travelling BA next year May 2018 seeing my brother in Toronto Canada. I know its a year away but looking forward to it.
Cheers Danny you will enjoy it BA are excellent, never had a bad experience with them.
;)
Great video of a jet engine. Can tell it was early in your career 👍
Nice!
Wow. So wished this one was longer. One of the best ones.
Lol, awesome pods! So that's what they look like from the inside? Sweet!
Haha yep there isn't much to them really, but they are very cool :)
It rotated so quickly!! B777 has such powerful engines for a short-hauler!
Yep, and sitting backwards for takeoff it felt especially powerful, amazing to feel the power of those GE90s on such a short route :)
Additionally, the 777 was actually designed & built for long-haul, international flights. This was a rare use for it to be used for such a short trip.
@@PDohm123 Yes, I'm aware. I think I was referring to the much shorter takeoff roll compared to what you'd be expecting for a 777 flight. (4 year old comment, I don't remember exactly what I was thinking about)
I had this on all morning love your vids hope you make more inflight videos
loved the flight noal. it was rare for ba to send in a 777 into madrid. the 777 looks amazing
Thanks Alan! They are sending the 777 every morning through the summer on the BA458/BA459 rotation, the earlier one BA456/BA457 is operated by a 767-300 :)

Was on the return flight in CW!
Awesome! Hope you had a good flight :)

Thank you so much!
Thanks
Heathrow has self driving vehicles now?! :O Mind. Blown.
These videos are excellent for first time flyers. I remember how petrified I was first time but I had no idea these videos existed. I,ll fly anywhere now and still love watching 'the experience'. Thanks Noel.
Does London already lives in 2080? That looks amazing! The british are smart people.
Jeez!! It only took me 2 hours for London Heathrow to Madrid not bloody nearly 4 hours.
Those cars in Heathrow are sooo so cool! Never seen them
Yep they're very cool :)
Great video 😊those pods look cool we should have these rather than buses lol 😂
Thanks Stephanie! Yep the pods are awesome, expensive but awesome :)
I've never really had the pleasure of travelling on a 777 as yet.
However my Dad has a few times and was quite impressed, I know that they are often described as workhouses and reliable.
When you think of the current issues that Boeing is having with regards both the 737 and the 787 Dreamliners let's just hope that 777 keeps going as well as it has been.
However, like all airliners the 777 will have a lifespan and when it comes to renewing their aircraft of this size I imagine that Airbus a330 and a340 would be the equivalent and would duely be considered if Boeing are still experiencing major trust issues in the quality and workmanship of their aircraft.
Nice Video! I Hope This Channel Can Get Much Subscriber
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)

I love the videos mate! Its awesome that you also record when you are on the way to the plane (sorry for bad english)

This video is so underrated, amazing content
Another good one Noel. I envy you! My traveling days are over, because of my health, so I live vicariously through your videos.
Thanks Jim as always! I'm glad you enjoy the videos, and I'll do my best to bring you another flight every Friday :)
Jim McCuin • Same here, friend! Not only do I love the "feel" of flying again, I love going "with" him as he goes through the terminals. The armchair experience affords me the next best thing if I don't ever get to actually go again.
How did You get atc Noel i Love Your video!
Hi noel
Thank you for these videos, all are amazing. Question do you happen to have any British airways flights on the 787 flying after 4 years and just looking forward to getting away for a few Months
Thanks again ❤
Hey man! I loved the view of the HUGE engines! I wasn't expecting a huge plane to fly a 2 hour flight from London to Madrid. Can you make a flight on Delta Airlines? You're still working on the flights coming soon, huh? I can't wait for the flight back with Iberia :D
Hey Branden, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! It's a great way to get a long haul aircraft on a short route :) And yep I just haven't had time lately :) Iberia will be next :)
LHR-MAD? That sounds like an awfully short flight for a 777-200ER... But great video regardless! And those Heathrow Pods are so cool.
It's a very short 777 flight. They also operate the 767 on the MAD route - and Iberia send A330 and A340-600. It's a good route to get the heavies!
I love hearing captain who is full of energy and excitement. His appreciation and passion for his work comes through clear. It helps me relax as a passenger. How many people were on the plane? It seems a very large plane for such destination.
I haven’t been to Heathrow in 10 years so I’ve never seen the pods.
I have insomnia and this put me to sleep.
Great flight as always. Interesting that you parked at a bus gate. As this bird has GE engines you always know its a bit older than the rest !
Thank you :) Yep I love the GE engines, was pleased to get a GE bird as the sound is incredible. Also great to get the bus and walk in front of the huge engine!
Good!👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Sergey!
Loved the pod but I miss that screen on the bottom left of screen to show where you are
I miss your commentary! This was an odd video but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
that is one smart pod in the beginning.
They're so cool :)
If only America had those.
I wish they had those pods in America especially at Atlanta airport
Lovely rotation at 9R
Beautiful aircraft to fly on!
That was a long ride from the plane to baggage claim!
Really good that you filmed the Pod and there were transit and bus rides as well ;) as well but why such a big plane for such a short flight I thought it would be a 767 or an A320.
I remembered you liked the bus and transit rides so made sure to include them :) Two reasons they use the 777: this flight ties in with all the lunchtime departures to South America, so they boost the capacity and also Madrid is the freight hub for South America so they have a lot of cargo and need the hold space of the 777.
Okay a few more questions firstly why didn't you film more of the Heathrow transit interior and secondly when you got the bus you should have sat on the back facing seats because you would have got a better view and I'm going to try and do what you did on the Madrid Transit when I fly from Stansted to Reus with Jet2 next month :)
OK so I had a really bad experience going through Heathrow. I was almost threatened by airport security as they thought I'd filmed the security checkpoint (I hadn't). They told me there would 'be consequences' if they checked the CCTV and found that I'd been filming. This shook me up a lot, and made me pretty scared to do any filming through the terminal, hence why I didn't take a lot of footage :( Sorry I didn't get more footage, but I didn't want to risk getting kicked off the flight, and their security were really intimidating this past weekend.
And that's awesome I can't wait to see it :) I may be flying with Jet2 early next year as we are going to Menorca and there don't seem to be many options from the Midlands :)
Never heard about this.
Boeing 777-236ER to LEMD ... Must have been better than getting a ride in a Rolls Royce! IIRC this flight is usually the preserve of one of the remaining Boeing 767-336ERs (used short to medium haul only now) which BA will be operating until December 2018. Iberia also has a bit of a 'Rollie' on LEMD / EGLL afternoon rotations in the shape of an Airbus A340-642 as the A343 is no longer in service with them. Travelled on one in September 2017 and the idea came from when I travelled on the same flight back in the last days of McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30s at IBE: LEMD to EGLL Terminal 2 back in August 2000 though! :o)
Correct, the 767s are being retired at the end of October. I came back on the A340-600 with Iberia - that flight is on here too :)
@inflightvideo How did you get to park in the Business lot and ride the PRT?
Late to the party here...been a subscriber for a while now but the algorithm pulled this one up. How'd you get the radio audio while onboard? Was that dubbed over after the fact? How'd you know which frequency to monitor? I'd be very curious to know. Thanks!
Same I never knew about these!
Oh the pods. i thought great i'll have the free ride but then i got to the car park and the hotel gate said something like £5 to get in so i thought forget it
It's free if you park in that car park, or you can ride it from T5 to the car park for free. I've heard people have just pressed the buzzer on the gate and they open the gate for you from the hotel too, but not confirmed.
Seems to be common BA using remote stands esp for 458
Wow I have never seen these pods,do you mind telling me where you found them because I would love to go on these pods
great video. are the pods free?
Thanks! The pods are free, but you have to have to park in the official car park which is quite expensive. You can ride them between the terminal and the car park all day for free though, you only have to pay if you want to leave the car park :)
good。
why the description is in italian? good job with your videos :)
Roberto Volpe its russian
😍😍😍
777 for such a short flight
Wow 🤧
Which seat are you in? 11K?
Yep seat 11K :)
Hey there, did not know that you can board a pod straight to terminal 5?! Do we all have access to it? I'm guessing only for business class
Hi, no it is available to anyone but you have to park in the pod car park which is quite expensive, or at the Thistle hotel next door which also has access to the pod :)
Oh really? Nice one! Thank you for the info!
You can also ride on the pod from T5 to the car park and back if you want to, you just follow the signs in the terminal :)
inflight Video Haha I really need to check this out. Just curious, when did this come in to action?
It's been there since T5 opened to the public, so a few years now. I first used it in 2014 and this is the third time I've used it :)
Ok merci ;)
Nice. I'd have enjoyed the video more if the pace was a bit faster, cutting out too much waiting. I also got bored with the prolonged constant shot of the outside. I do like the details though.
Hi Noel,
Great flight just loved it. Keep it going. I especially loved the pod travel to the Heathrow airport. However, I have couple of questions:
1. How was your flight? Was it comfortable?
2. How many flights did you take during this trip to Spain?
3. When did you book those flights because I checked your website around 4 weeks ago and I didn't spot this particular flight.
4. What flight are you going to release next week?
Hey Adam!
The flight was very comfortable thank you, flat bed seat for a 2 hour flight is amazing :) I took just two flights, out to Madrid in the morning and back with Iberia on the A340-600 in the afternoon. I booked about 2 weeks ago, as there was going to be a couple of weeks without videos to release so figured I had to book something haha :) They are operating the 777 on the BA458/BA459 every day throughout the summer. You can combine it with the Iberia A340-600 in the afternoon which I am releasing next week :)
Thanks for answering
I have couple more questions however
1. Have you thought about 2 full flights a week?
2. Are you going to bring timelapses back to CZcams?
3. When are you flying to Miami?
Hey Adam, at the moment I don't have the time or money to do more than one flight a week, but going forward that is definitely the plan. I've started putting the timelapses on Facebook now, follow us there for weekly timelapses :) And Miami should be coming in a few weeks time :)
Can't wiat then
Lol.Ameizing
Me encantan tus vídeos podrías volar en un Boing 747
Je vous remercie! Bien sûr, je vais monter sur le B747 le mois prochain de Francfort à San Francisco :)
inflight Video ok thanks
Sadly I flew in and out of Terminal 2 at Heathrow. They need to brings this pod system to JFK in New York
How are you getting ATC?
Como consigues las radios? How do you have the radios of spain?
What is an EK ad doing outside of T3?
Keep this long destinace , VIDEO'S there great ❗ especially✔️ with the tower control voices talking❗ Please☝️ try to keep the tower control keep🤔 speaking‼️through the hole flights‼️👌
Wish I was rich to ride the nice seats))
I only bought business class as it was only £20 extra on this flight :) I usually buy economy tickets and then either bid on an upgrade or take up an offer to upgrade :)
