Boeing has really dropped a large rock on its collective feet. I used to work on the first 737s we had. To keep the same body with its short gears into the present is a financial decision made by the bean counters. An engineer would've bitten the bullet and built a new wing to allow more ground clearance to accommodate wider engines without the shenanigans that is the root of the 737 max's problems. The money printing going on in the USA is another nail in the coffin. The US gov cut funds to FAA leading to the FAA outsourcing certification testing to the manufacturer. This is tantamount to asking a thief to catch the thief!

I took this train in 2016. I arrived in Emeryville 9 hours late. Ruined plans I had with my friend who lives there. Scenery was great. Staff were cool and was given a free meal for such a long delay. I'd rather arrive early or on time at the expense of a meal. Of course, if you paid for meals you'd expect more than cold slices of pizza.

This only confirms my point that US really needs to invest more into public transport. I can get from Helsinki to upper Finland by sleepover train in a day. I could do it by bus too, but why would i when there's faster options. inb4 "wOuLdnT wOrK oN uS sCaLe" put some of the money into public transport instead of the military complex?

well about 10-12 years ago I spent 300.00 for a ride in a B-17 that was at Boeing field from the company that travels the states each year and another guy spent 1200.00 to fly a P 51 Mustang who was a Vietnam era pilot

That is not a sleeper berth, that is First AC coach which is the best that Indian railway offers. Regarding the food, in the long journey trains there is a pantry coach in the train where your food get prepared fresh. Even if there isn't a pantry coach, food is still available from various stations along the journey. Since you also ordered the food from outside, you have to get down and contact the guy yourself as train train stop for few minutes its not possible to hand delivered to various coaches. You have to quick on your feet to get the food.

I recall flown twice to New Zealand from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. One to Christchurch in mid-2011, and to Auckland with stopover at Gold Coast Airport in early-2019. Both onboard Airasia X Airbus A330-300 (with 9-abreast economy seat). Depart on the night before, and landed in the afternoon later. While the flights can be tiring, but i have to say that New Zealand might be the only country i would love to visit on over 10 hours flight. Perhaps Business Class on Batik Air 737 would be alright, but probably much better with economy on widebody A330 over the same seat on narrowbody 737 on that long journey.
