    You know what Noel, that $1,000.00 flight on the private jet is basically the same price as commercial flight business class anyway. You got better service and were treated as a person and not cargo. So definitely worth it. I have a close mate who's a geologist for 16 years and was contracted with ConocoPhillips in Jakarta, Indonesia, and flew on their private jets and choppers where ever he went on business. He was totally spoiled. Anyhow, Noel is a great video that keeps flying high and with a smile 😊

    When I was about 10, I was invited up to the cockpit of a commercial domestic flight. They showed me around, made me feel welcome, and I was even allowed to "pilot" the commercial flight (I'm guessing it was on auto-pilot, or the second pilot was prepared to take over) -probably one of the most memorable times of my childhood!
    Since 911, that doesn't happen much, but the open cockpit style still exists in private jets and limited small-scale domestic flights.

      My best flying memory was in 2005 flying LAX-AMS on a KLM 747. I was a little kid back then, and we were flying to visit family in the Netherlands. It turned out that my mom's cousin was a flight attendant on our flight, and his wife was one of the pilots. They invited me into the cockpit and I got to look at a 747 cockpit in flight, after 9/11. There's definitely not a lot of other people out there who experienced something like this.

    I am thinking they fully book that Love Field to Aspen flight every flight up and back during ski season. It seems a lifetime ago (actually about 45 years) when I visited Aspen when dad was stationed at Lowery AFB in Denver. Maybe my memories of it are of Vail or other ski resorts further east towards Denver, but it looks very high-desert in comparison to world-class ski resort.
    Thank you for sharing with this aging, disabled man. One of my very first posters I remember buying for myself was from the Flughafen in Frankfurt. It had about 40 or so different airlines (every single one that flew into and out of Frankfurt at that time in the early 70's, sans the Air Force contract flights using the two gate terminal on the U.S. Air Base side). I was fortunate enough to cross the north Atlantic 10 times and criss-cross the U.S. (including flying to St. Paul Island in the Pribiloffs from Anchoarage) about 30 or so times.
    Keep up the great work, my friend. It is refreshing to see your new video every Sunday morning at the top of my YT feed instead of the constant din of the modern world... To use the proper British saying, Happy Christmas to you and your family, Noel❤

    Expensive is relative to the person.. for me that’s crazy money! For others that pocket change 🤣! For what you got tho it looked good value for money

    I often ended up on a Continental Airlines ERJ-145 (which this is nearly identical to) and did enjoy it. I am pretty tall but I think Noel is taller than me and he isn't bothered by slumping and peering down just to avoid the roof? Even on a regular passenger service (which they don't use much anymore in USA) it was fun to have both a window and an aisle seat.

    I'm hoping one day they will make something like a cheap Business Class. All I care when I travel is the business seat. If there was a cheaper fare where all they give you is the seat and no food and no lounge I would love it. Call it Business EASY class or Business Simple. They already do for last minutes business upgrades on Emirates or Qatar. You get the seat and food of course but no lounge access. Now, strip away the food also from me and sell me a 1,200USD return and I will get the Business Class seat

    • @yaziyo
      @yaziyo Před 7 měsíci +5

      Unfortunately I think you'll find the only expensive thing about a business class ticket from the airline's perspective is the seat. A bit of better food and being let into the lounge doesn't really move the needle much in terms of what you cost them to be there.

    • @MrJimheeren
      @MrJimheeren Před 7 měsíci

      Dude you do realize the space is reason why you pay so much money for your seat. Not the amenities. A bottle of champagne cost a big airline like Emirates less then 20$. The food probably even less. You pay for the privilege and the space. That’s why they can give you an update for free if the flight is overbooked. That’s a lot cheaper for the airline then giving a economy class passenger a new ticket and a couple of hundred dollars

  • @phyllislowry6265
    @phyllislowry6265 Před 7 měsíci +5

    I dont think $1,000 was all that expensive for a hassle free , comfortable seat & excellent service & even having transportation to your final destination I had wondered if you woud do a loo review so I was happy to see it! And you had on jeans instead of shorts! Colorado is a beautiful state & I have driven thru it a few tmes & taken the train many times thru in the past . Hope you reached your final destination before it was really late & where ever you were going the weather was good.

  • @JimDean002
    @JimDean002 Před 7 měsíci +3

    Given that this was probably 80% of the experience of a charter jet at a fraction of the cost I don't think $1,000 is out of line. Especially if you're considering that the upgrade tickets where you can make changes are only a few hundred more. Given the convenience it would be more than worse than money

    It really isn't "like flying on a private jet" at all. A private jet goes when and when you decide. This is just a fancier scheduled commercial flight. Yes, bypassing all of the terminal crowd situation is a nice bonus, but the plane itself looks pretty bare bones, with no IFE.
