This is so true about the bread!! I use to eat garbage and after about 6 to 7 months of eating healthy i took notice of this. I gave in to eating a slicen of pizza for a friends bday celebration. When i ate slice i thought i ate a piece of pineapple that accidentally got in my slice. Nope! I realized it was the actual bread that was way too sweet. I ask others about the sweetness and they could not tell the difference, for them, the pizza was good. It was gross...

I discovered that you are based about 77 miles southeast of me. I want to find a doctor amenable to keto and carnivore in my rural mountain area. Will be searching for a new one before next summer. The only one I had who encouraged a low carb/keto way of eating passed away suddenly and I was left floundering yet again. I only go to the doc once each year to retest my thyroid to see if my Synthroid is still correct because I'm never sick. My current provider, a PN, became angry when I challenged her suggestion to eat "heart healthy" because my total cholesterol was just over 200, meaning again, ignorance about cholesterol (I'm an almost 67 yr old woman. My trig were only 55, HDL 60). I eat mostly carnivore. Ignorance is rampant in the medical community about sugar and everything else to do with diet. Generally, I can't even broach the subject with any doctor. Appreciate your channel. ~Cynthia

As being a past semi-pro/pro endurance athlete (cyclist), having a background in the medical field, and doing manual labor almost every day...even while still being in "great shape" I can really start to sense changes in the body...they are subtle. Subtle, or not, while being as a whole, the changes are absolutely relentless! THIS is pretty scary especially after seeing this episode! I will venture to say that this probably one you absolute best Dr. Sten Ekberg! Mosly because this presentation can hit home to most anyone who actually takes the time to listen. Realize that THIS is critical information that can probably change every aspect of your life...not many get to experience what it feels like to be at the very top your game. Simply put, it is a feeling this is out of this world. I have a feeling that for many if they take all this to heart...the differences felt between "now vs. later" would also be a feeling "out of this world." Thank you Dr. Ekberg for truly opening my eyes.

Sincere thanks for all that you do to educate us.
I have an interesting related story to tell ..
My UK NHS dentist took me off his list because I hadn't been in for two years (I brush well, inc gums). Back of queue? No, they don't even have a waiting list.
It was a bad time of life for me to sort this kind of thing out so I thought I would just go without a dentist, but as I have a sensitive tooth, and i wanted to be sure of no cavities, I completely stopped taking any kind of sugar except where it's unavoidable. I even avoided sweet cereals. I've been for years like that now, and the results are absolutely amazing. I had every single one of those symptoms in some small way, sometimes in a large way ... especially unstable energy. All gone. And I have not had a proper cold or 'flu in years (I'm 63 and walked off Covid easily too)
    SO IT WORKS!!

Most doctors don’t know (or don’t want to) test for HOMA-IR because they need a reason to prescribe diabetes medications. There’s too much money to lose if suddenly our populations became health conscious and cut out sugar. So now there’s a decent financial ecosystem from childhood cereals to old age medications that keep certain companies very profitable. 😢

Lost a lot of weight (about 25% of my peak weight). I also don't eat processed foods with any additives. The most processed foods I eat are red lentil pasta (one ingredient, red lentils) and canned fish (in water or olive oil).
Although I had lost a lot of weight, I decided to stop drinking alcohol about a year ago. I almost immediately lost 2" off my waist. That was a bit of a problem because I had just bought several pairs of jeans (on sale) having lost 2" at the beginning of my diet change.

The "getting started as kids" is very true. I drank Kool-aid as a baby, so sugar is the hardest addiction for me to kick. The only thing allowing me to not eat it (over a year now!) is that sugar tends to piggyback with soy. Unless I add it myself (or make desserts), I can't eat most sugary things so it's sorta easy to not eat sugar. Going carnivore definitely helped re: fruits too. lol
