- We all know the real Xmaxx Killer is not a new Arrma,...it's actually the Skatepark, So can this little 1/16 RC Car take the test? Durability/torture test for the HBX 16889.

This thing took a beating! I couldn't break it! I think because it has a plastic chassis, and nearly all the components are plastic, it absorbs the impact much better. These may be the toughest RC Car in the world! lol.

fell in love with this car, I got myself three brushed, brushless and the pro version. Then upgraded alluminum parts for the pro version man its a 10/10 car robust stable and quick! super recommended

I have one of these. I’ve tried to break it. Run it on 3s exclusively. I can’t. I can overheat it but that’s about it. Even play chicken with my buddy’s xmaxx. Unbreakable. Btw the gens ace 800mah 3s battery fits the tray perfectly.

Waaaay less bouncy than I expected for friction shocks.
My first one was a Nikko black fox with turbo boost ! I would charge 8 AA batteries while I was at school and come home to run it and jump it off kurbs for about 6 minutes. I hope this truck brings the same fun for my son a few decades later.

tomley, i know you have both the 1/16th and the 1/18th scale 18859. are the diffs interchangeable from one to the other? having problems finding the 1/18 metal diffs, but plenty for the 1/16th.

is there something like this, a budget option, in a larger scale? i fear this would be swallowed up in the grass and hills in my yard .
This could probably use a bit larger pinion, I'd say 4 teeth up for the skatepark on 2s, or maybe if the esc handles it go 3s lipo as it is (driveshafts might not make it though.)

I think i've seen people put brushless in the Red Cats... maybe worth a quick search on here for the conversion.

Breaks easily keep breaking the body mount posts that's the week spot on the 16889 . They need to make thicker stronger ones
The stock shocks that come with this are too unstable, can i fit wltoys 1/18 oil shocks on this which will lower it by 10mm thereabouts.
You can and indeed one of my cars has the 18th scale shocks on them but it rides kind of low I would suggest looking on bang good for the right size

Nice one gov!! This stepson was really tough, you're not joking mate. It's cheaper on Banggood than the 144001 and a tad bit more expensive than the a959b, would you say it's better than those 2 cars? It jumped beautifully!! 👍💯
The 144001 is still my favourite, but this with oil shocks would be my choice over the A959B
so would this hbx be the best out of all these to run in the grass/woods/rocks? 144001 sets lower?
@@bigb69ti my experience with the 144 has been horrible, broken front diffs to knuckles to servo issues. Some people had better luck. I'd go with the HBX and do the upgrades especially wheels and suspension.
yah and its the cheapest $ brushless, is the controller really that bad on the hbx? that has been the main reason i am looking at others rc
@@bigb69ti Also look at some of the lower end Arrma and RedCat stuff, they're pretty 👍 good.

I have a couple more coming (different body styles) so might try. (I've gifted this one out now)
Mine broke already lol. I tested it at the beach. And ran through some water. Later on it wont run. But it still turns. Just wont run forward or reverse
you ran it through saltwater that is a huge mistake

Mine broke on the third run, lost a wheel. Haiboxing does NOT honor their own 90 warrant! Claimed a collision caused the problem? Ignored emails for 2 weeks! Amazon intervened...
