I love that dimensions kit! It’s perfect for spring and summer! The best part of summer for me is drinking coffee and reading outside early in the morning while it’s still cool and quiet ☺️

Love your Beauty and the Beast. Yes I make memories with my wips too and associate shows/movies or something happening too. Often I stitch and watch my boys play video games. I try to stitch everyday. I'm not much on summer, I'm a winter lover myself. So I don't stitch outside much. Some days I get a lot in, some days just a few x's but I know every stitch counts. Nice meeting you ☺️

Hello Kathryn lovey! It is always so wonderful to see you pop up on my Flosstube feed! I am so glad to hear that you changed jobs again and you’re doing what you like to do. I know you worked really hard to make it work at the last one- obviously a better one was coming up on your radar. I’m not much for being told “Well, that’s what you’re going to do” either! Life is too short. I was glad to hear that you went to Stitch North- sounds like you had a great time. You picked up some really cute patterns I loved your purple and purple variegated Sulky. I think they will be really pretty together. I started that pattern with the dark blue/ light blue combo and hated it. I already know yours is going to be better. I can’t believe how well Beauty and the Beast is coming along! Love it! The rest of your stitching is lovely as always. You have influenced me to get on the Dimensions train. I found a partially stitched Woodland Enchantress at a reseller and had to take it off his hands. Since then I’ve really been coming along with it. And I bought Spring Fairy, Autumn Fairy and another seasonal one! Vonna has just about convinced me to pick up and start a Santa Claus, although we really don’t have a big Christmas celebration. Looking at the Lavender and Lace one she is doing is just about enough to convince me I need one! Lol. I’m also on a big Jeannette Douglas kick- I’m doing her 12 monthly bouquets that were freebies last year. I have 2 months to go! And I just bought a Bee Sampler thing she did, so I guess we’re all on the bee tangent right now! I love the Tiny Town one, and am going to find the Seashore one. Ok, I’ll be quiet for now! Wow Beauty and the beast is looking amazing, and your plans for the Modern Folk embroidery pattern should be stunning I have not used sulky myself, but people are raving about it and that variegation is so pretty. If our summers here in Australia where milder I would probably love them but my favourite thing about summer is the first day of Autumn weather.
I’m right there with you on the summer heat - it’s always terribly hot and humid and I hate sweating just walking from my front door to the car! I like autumn weather better too!

the heat's a challenge and there might be some respite ahead from the forest smoke. It's been terrible, something I've never experienced before. Other places are even more affected. Praying for rain...

I finally got to watch your video! Beauty and the Beast looks soooo good! I should have taken notes while watching, but I also just picked up the Tiny Town piece. You blew it out of the park on Moon Hare. Whoa! Your needle was in fire.
I’m love summer time for all of the beautiful flowers we get to enjoy along with the various birds that come out. Looks like you had a great time at the retreats. I love watching Mimi’s Stitching and have had my eye on the Modern Folk Embroidery project everyone has been sharing. It’s gorgeous and the colors you chose are going to be perfect. It will have a nice contract between the purples.
Oh the Tiny Modernest Bird House patter! I’ve never seen it before 😍 then all of the Village patterns by Stoney Creek…I have those too. 🫣 oh I would love to start them one day.

Our usual summer thing is to travel thousands of miles in our 5th wheel to see family. This year was extra challenging with an old dog, and needing to get an elder into nursing home care. Nice to be back home!
I always love to travel but in the end it’s the best feeling to be home again! Hope both your elder and your pup are doing well ☺️💕
@@NeedleberryStitcher Well, the 17 year old dog didn't make the trip back with us. We buried him land our family has owned for many decades. The trip back was much easier without the caregiving responsibilities.

@@NeedleberryStitcher thank you! She had a port installed yesterday so she can start chemo soon. She's not real thrilled with life today. She has a lot of pain from that procedure. She has been in pretty good spirits otherwise. PET scan is next week and that's the thing we are all scared about. Have a wonderful weekend! ~J

Nice to see you again! I, too, am going to do the MFE 2021 SAL. I have a tiny start on it. I’m currently doing the MFE 2023 SAL and hoping to finish it this year so that’s almost all I have time for, but I’ll do little bits on the 2021 SAL here and there. It will be motivating for me to see you work on it, too! Congrats on the new job. When you talk about your job struggles I can 100% relate. Glad you found something that’s a good fit!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggles with finding a good job fit. There’s no perfect job but I know there’s work that I enjoy, and if I’ve got another 15 years in the workforce then I want to at least not hate my job 😂.
The 2023 MFE SAL is so pretty also! I may have to put that on my to do list. For now the 2021 pattern keeps calling…. 🙂

I can see how it happened. 😁 My favorite thing to do in the summer is hibernate in the house and stitch. Summer is my least favorite season. I am saving up and waiting for a seat sale to visit my daughter and her family that moved to Cape Breton Island 2 rears ago. My main summer plans as I live in Londo, ON and have not seen them or their new house since they moved, my one granddaughter was a teenager and spent most of Covid with me keeping me company. So we are a very close family. As for cross stitching I have been searching for the perfect cherry tree in blossom, lol
I hope you can visit your daughter and her family soon! Cape Breton is so beautiful. We traveled the Cabot Trail a few summers ago and loved every bit of it. The lighthouse at Neil’s Harbour is really pretty. ❤️ Happy stitching!

I would probably go with Fog or Vellum by Picture This Plus and use black and red , and maybe even a dark grey as my floss. That piece is by far my favourite MFE. I am so looking forward to seeing you stitch it!!😊
I was very interested in your dilema with fabric count. I've never done 1 over 1 on 28 count. I did do a HEAD on 28 count, but I did it 2 over 2. I think I will now try the 1 over 1....thanks for sharing your experience. It's definately summer here! Temperatures are a rising! Another great video!
I love 1 over 1 but my preference is 25 ct and not 28 ct. I do love 28 ct hand dyed fabrics 2 over 2 for my Mirabilias though. ❤️

My favorite thing to do during summer is to lay in my hammock just before dusk with a Stephen King book, I read until it gets too dark to see, then I make a mad dash to get to the safety of my house😝
That’s too funny!! I’ve never been brave enough to read a Stephen King book, I think my imagination is too vivid, not sure I could handle it 😂
Summer is not my favourite season but i enjoy having six weeks off work for it (I work in a school) great progress on beauty and the beast 😍 I'm also a huge dimensions fan!!!

I have that chart but haven’t chosen colors yet…so you are definitely NOT the last one to start it. Lol! Several of your purchases are things that I have bought recently (e.g. Tiny Town) or are on my mental wish list (e.g., Quilting Bee). Glad to hear that you found a job that you love…doesn’t it make all the difference?
The Tiny Towns are so adorable!! And the Quilting Bee is also gorgeous- so many pretty things and not enough time! 😂 The right job definitely makes all the difference, work is no longer drudgery 🙂

As a big LotR fan, I can't wait to see your progress on home in the mountains! I'm also curious to see how Beloved will progress. It looks absolutely massive. On a side note, how do you like the plastic bags you store your projects in? I've seen them around but I'm nervous they'll start to yellow over time and affect the colours of my fabric and floss.
My summer is spent recovering from an operation, but we've had glorious weather. I also have an excuse now to sit and stitch all day, so I'm not complaining!
Hope your recovery is going well and you’re back to full health soon!
The plastic bags seem okay so far, but I’ve only been using them for about a year… I have the same concerns long term with using them. I need to learn to use my sewing machine 🙂
