I am so sorry for your loss! I lost my mother 1 year ago this past January. I know the pain and sorrow, I still have moments where something reminds me of her and I tear up. We were very close. I too know she is with her Lord, that gives us hope. Hugs my stitchy friend.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Kathryn. I certainly can empathize as I lost my dad and father-in-law to pancreatic cancer. The surgeon and internal medicine doc screwed up big time on my dad. They didn’t like me, an RN, and my doctor brother asking questions. The hardest loss ever was 3 years ago when our youngest son died at the age of 32 from an unknown heart condition. He was getting married that summer. Our oldest son Is a pastor and did his service. I couldn’t stitch after for about 2 months. I still don’t want to make quilts but only finished one for a great niece. Your dad sounds like a wise man.

I’m so glad your Father is well now and coping well with the loss as best he can. You will miss her dearly always but the deep abiding pain does lessen a bit over the years. My sister had that same surgery...and I completely agree with you about the Canadian health system you don't have to try and sugar coat that, it is a mess.... Anyways I just wish I could give you a big hug. I love what you did for your mom's friend I know she will cherish that. And your mom's Nora is beautiful! I hope working and finishing it helps heal your heart a little, having a little piece of her with you. There is something very comforting in having a dedicated project to focus on, time spent honouring the memories of our dear loved ones. I stuck to the end - and oh my. I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your beautiful mama, I know she must leave a terrible hole in your heart. I am so glad that you are able to let her live on with her stitching, and that you are able to support your dad with all of the things that come with losing someone so dear. I hope things have got (not easier to bear, that isnt what i mean) but that when you think on her, it hurts less and you can smile more. It is not easy to lose a parent, no matter how old they get. Hello My Dear, I'm sorry for the loss you are going through. I was caretaker for my Mom now she's in better hands. Everyday, every single day I miss her, talk to her, reach for the phone to tell her something. God Bless your Dad and help him find a new way. God's blessing on your family. The pain does ease, but the heartache of the missing part doesn't. BTW...I truly believe what you believe. My way of coping with the recent loses I've gone through is to cross stitch memorials. It, eases my pain. A favorite I did for my Mom was: "My mind still talks to you, My heart still looks for you, My soul knows you are at peace." These quips while stitching has helped me to heal some.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in 2017 and I still miss our phone calls. She lived in Germany and I am in Canada, so I was not able to say good-bye to her in person. I was talking to her the night before and I think she needed to hear that my sister and I are going to be okay and that it is okay for her to let go, because she passed the next morning. That was the hardest conversation I ever had to have. Take care and know my thoughts are with you!
Kathryn - I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. It sounds like the healthcare system failed her and your entire family. Having lost my mom to cancer 14 years ago I can tell you that you never get over the loss of your mother. At some point you will stop crying - and then you are shocked that you haven't cried. It is crazy. I believe as you do that we will see each other again. Also, I am glad that you are over the horrible job! I will add your father and you to my prayer list. Finally, I will be heading to Hawaii next month - this trip has been postponed for three years - but my husband and I will be celebrating 30 years!

Hi Kathryn, it's so strange how life works. I was just thinking about you the other day so was delighted to see you back and catch up with your progress. I'm so sorry for your loss, which does seem to have come a bit out of the blue, when you thought things were on the road to recovery for your mum. I think, while they make you aware of associated risks, its something that you never actually hear as you assume that those kind of things happen to others (maybe) but will never happen to you. Keep speaking about your mum. The dead never die if they live on the lips of the living. You were clearly very close to her and she was obviously deeply loved. Take care of yourselves and your dad. Will keep you in my prayers. 🙏
I know everyone saying this but I am truly sorry for your loss. There’s nothing like losing a parent or a spouse. It is very difficult and I’m not gonna say that it’s easy there’s not a day goes by that you don’t think of them and wonder what they think of this world today I will keep you in my prayers and you take care.
I'm so very sorry for your loss, Cathryn. I lost my mom 17 years ago and her death left a hole in my heart. I had someone tell me that grief was like carrying around a backpack filled with rocks and all the rocks had to stay in the backpack. The backpack never gets any lighter, but our backs become stronger. I believe that is absolutely true for me. I got stronger, but I still miss her every single day. So sorry to hear about your mom. Couldn’t watch to the end bc it was breaking my heart and too real. My mom is in nursing right now and it was too real. She was/is my biggest cross stitch fan. Glad you were transparent about the medical care in Canada. People need to hear this. It’s awful that your mom had to wait a month to get the surgery she needed. Yes, Canadian healthcare needs some work. So does US healthcare. Nothing is perfect… but finding out she was misdiagnosed and didn’t even have cancer… that’s been heart wrenching. She was my best friend, but she’ll always be with me. Thanks for all the support 💕💕
@@ArleneSolomon-vr2ue Ya… she died from infection from the surgery which caused a heart attack and then all the scans came back with no sign of cancer at all. It doesn’t bring her back to dwell on that, but I encourage everyone to get a second opinion if possible. It wasn’t possible for her… small town, few healthcare providers. We believe what you do as far as Jesus and Heaven, however with all my heart and love with telling you this: my uncle passed away fro exactly the same circumstances and he lived in Moncton- and I do believe yes, you have to accept what happened, but something needs to be said about this misdiagnosis and conduct, because if we continue to ignore it, they will do it again. Our health system has gotten sooo bad and they are killing people 😢 I feel so bad for you and your family- my heart goes out to you and yours- I’m saying this out of love and friendship. I would be getting in contact with the medical board of Canada and a lawyer- you could be saving someone else’s life. Obviously, make sure your dad gets a second opinion or goes to the USA to get proper diagnosis. I’m again so sorry for your loss. My husband and I send our condolences and love. The hard part is that there’s NO option for a second opinion, you get who you get and there’s no alternate for someone else to ask. We had a bad feeling from the beginning but had little option but to believe what we were told. Thank you for sharing. It won’t bring her back, but it does help make more sense of the situation. My sincerest condolences on the loss of your Mother and your Father's diagnosis. My family went through much about the same in 2019-2021 and at the height of COVID-19, so everything you shared with us resonated with me - including a new job in the middle of it. You will hear this from others, and I will tell you the same. The passage of time will make a difference. You will not "get over" the last few weeks of your Mom's illness ad her passing. However, the passage of time will give you and your family the fortitude to carry on, and be there for your Father, your Brother and your immediate family. Stay safe and well.

So nice to see you again Catherine. Don't beat yourself up over how you stitch - in hand, or in a hoop or frame, it's a hobby so just about doing it how you enjoy it. Same with WIPGO - only do it if it enhances your enjoyment (I know some feel it helps them make good progress so that's why they enjoy it - but it doesn't work like that for me so I ditched it too). I finished It Is Well last year as well - it is one of my favourite hymns and I especially love the story behind it. (I've been commenting as your video progressed - I've just got to your life update part). So sorry to hear about your Mum. That must be so hard to keep walking through. My prayer is that, like the writer of ''It Is Well", you will also be able to say that, despite the storms of life. I’m so sorry for your loss, Kathryn. I certainly can empathize as I lost my dad and father-in-law to pancreatic cancer. The surgeon and internal medicine doc screwed up big time on my dad. They didn’t like me, an RN, and my doctor brother asking questions. The hardest loss ever was 3 years ago when our youngest son died at the age of 32 from an unknown heart condition. He was getting married that summer. Our oldest son Is a pastor and did his service. I couldn’t stitch after for about 2 months. I still don’t want to make quilts but only finished one for a great niece. Your dad sounds like a wise man.

Hello My Dear, I'm sorry for the loss you are going through. I was caretaker for my Mom now she's in better hands. Everyday, every single day I miss her, talk to her, reach for the phone to tell her something. God Bless your Dad and help him find a new way. God's blessing on your family. The pain does ease, but the heartache of the missing part doesn't. BTW...I truly believe what you believe. My way of coping with the recent loses I've gone through is to cross stitch memorials. It, eases my pain. A favorite I did for my Mom was: "My mind still talks to you, My heart still looks for you, My soul knows you are at peace." These quips while stitching has helped me to heal some.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in 2017 and I still miss our phone calls. She lived in Germany and I am in Canada, so I was not able to say good-bye to her in person. I was talking to her the night before and I think she needed to hear that my sister and I are going to be okay and that it is okay for her to let go, because she passed the next morning. That was the hardest conversation I ever had to have. Take care and know my thoughts are with you!

Kathryn - I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. It sounds like the healthcare system failed her and your entire family. Having lost my mom to cancer 14 years ago I can tell you that you never get over the loss of your mother. At some point you will stop crying - and then you are shocked that you haven't cried. It is crazy. I believe as you do that we will see each other again. Also, I am glad that you are over the horrible job! I will add your father and you to my prayer list. Finally, I will be heading to Hawaii next month - this trip has been postponed for three years - but my husband and I will be celebrating 30 years!

I'm so sorry for your loss, which does seem to have come a bit out of the blue, when you thought things were on the road to recovery for your mum. I think, while they make you aware of associated risks, its something that you never actually hear as you assume that those kind of things happen to others (maybe) but will never happen to you. Keep speaking about your mum. The dead never die if they live on the lips of the living. You were clearly very close to her and she was obviously deeply loved. Take care of yourselves and your dad. I'm so very sorry for your loss, Cathryn. I lost my mom 17 years ago and her death left a hole in my heart. I had someone tell me that grief was like carrying around a backpack filled with rocks and all the rocks had to stay in the backpack. The backpack never gets any lighter, but our backs become stronger. I believe that is absolutely true for me. I got stronger, but I still miss her every single day. Glad you were transparent about the medical care in Canada. People need to hear this. It’s awful that your mom had to wait a month to get the surgery she needed. Yes, Canadian healthcare needs some work. So does US healthcare. Nothing is perfect… but finding out she was misdiagnosed and didn’t even have cancer… that’s been heart wrenching. She was my best friend, but she’ll always be with me. Thanks for all the support 💕💕

It doesn’t bring her back to dwell on that, but I encourage everyone to get a second opinion if possible. It wasn’t possible for her… small town, few healthcare providers. We believe what you do as far as Jesus and Heaven, however with all my heart and love with telling you this: my uncle passed away fro exactly the same circumstances and he lived in Moncton- and I do believe yes, you have to accept what happened, but something needs to be said about this misdiagnosis and conduct, because if we continue to ignore it, they will do it again. Our health system has gotten sooo bad and they are killing people 😢 I feel so bad for you and your family- my heart goes out to you and yours- I’m saying this out of love and friendship. I would be getting in contact with the medical board of Canada and a lawyer- you could be saving someone else’s life. Obviously, make sure your dad gets a second opinion or goes to the USA to get proper diagnosis. I’m again so sorry for your loss. My husband and I send our condolences and love. The hard part is that there’s NO option for a second opinion, you get who you get and there’s no alternate for someone else to ask. We had a bad feeling from the beginning but had little option but to believe what we were told. Thank you for sharing. It won’t bring her back, but it does help make more sense of the situation. My sincerest condolences on the loss of your Mother and your Father's diagnosis. My family went through much about the same in 2019-2021 and at the height of COVID-19, so everything you shared with us resonated with me - including a new job in the middle of it. You will hear this from others, and I will tell you the same. The passage of time will make a difference. You will not "get over" the last few weeks of your Mom's illness ad her passing. However, the passage of time will give you and your family the fortitude to carry on, and be there for your Father, your Brother and your immediate family. Stay safe and well.

So nice to see you again Catherine. Don't beat yourself up over how you stitch - in hand, or in a hoop or frame, it's a hobby so just about doing it how you enjoy it. Same with WIPGO - only do it if it enhances your enjoyment (I know some feel it helps them make good progress so that's why they enjoy it - but it doesn't work like that for me so I ditched it too). I finished It Is Well last year as well - it is one of my favourite hymns and I especially love the story behind it.
(I've been commenting as your video progressed - I've just got to your life update part). So sorry to hear about your Mum. That must be so hard to keep walking through. My prayer is that, like the writer of ''It Is Well", you will also be able to say that, despite the storms of life.
