  • In this video I test out different length dart points ranging from 32mm long all the way up to a ridiculous 66mm long! I offer feedback on what I think of the 4 different lengths. Enjoy the video!

    So glad I found your vid! Just changed from 32 to 43mm. I've been noticing a lot more bounce outs! Nice hearing you noticed it too. I do like the longer points though. 43mm is probably the longest for me to play with. Thanks again!!

    Worldwide; great review. I bought the Designa point tool over a year ago; one of my best dart supply purchases. Most of my darts have the Target Storm 30mm black smooth points now installed. I agree, the silver points don't stick as good as the black points.

    Great topic! I have a repointing tool and have gravitated to longer points over time - either 38mm or 40mm. One great benefit of the longer points is that if you use plastic trident nosecones, the longer points protect the tridents from being destroyed by the board wires. I also think it is logical to see that the longer points enable tighter grouping- as your skill level goes up.

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for the comment. Spot on about the nose cones. With shorter points the nose cones get chewed up because of the spider. I also forgot to add that it's probably beneficial for those that use fatter darts to use longer points. Much easier to group 👍

    I need those darts 😂 think they’ll be one of my next buys once my Pipes arrive. I’ve used 32mm for as long as I can remember, barring a year of using a Target Storm Nano point that was 26mm. I sanded them down so much by the time I switched them out, they were 21mm. Took me a while to even get used to a new set of 32mm black coated points.

    Those Frankenstein points are ludicrous but I kinda love them lol. One question for you guys though, I have been throwing my old darts, 24g unicorn purist v1, the gold phil taylor ones from back in the day. I love them, especially the grip in my arthritic hands, but after about 30 to 45 minutes my arm and shoulder starts aching like I've been at the gym. Would switching to a lighter dart or 20 to 21 gram with same or similar grip pattern be beneficial? I have a relaxed but moderately powerful throw. I've heard heavier darts are "easier" to throw, but im thinking it's a strength versus effort type of deal. Lighter darts = more effort but less strength needed and vice versa. Any info would be a great help as im looking to order some new arrows. Cheers

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  Před 3 lety

      Hi Mike, here's my take on that... I do think that heavier darts are easier to throw but... only for a few turns or maybe even a leg or two. Heavier darts seem to be more popular in the USA but look at the format we mostly play, usually best of 3's. Imo lighter darts are more forgiving over the long run. That's why the top 32 PDC professionals use a dart that weighs 22 grams on average. Over the distance a lighter dart is easier to throw.
      Imagine trying to play back to back 501 best of 11's with a 26g dart. Even though it's only a few grams heavier it might possibly cause fatigue in your arm/shoulder. Again, just an opinion of mine but also found that to be true from a personal standpoint

      I lived in England for a few of years and was spoiled for choice on darts and supplies at a good price. I have a store close here in SC that sells darts but it's 80 % soft tip but great for flights/ stems.
