Erin I just discovered your videos while searching for some smart fascial stretching routines that don't require any bricks, balls, bands or foam rollers. This helped me a lot of thank you for sharing it. I've done physical therapy strengthening and stretching for years with no results and no one ever suggested fascia might be the issue.

SO GOOD to work around the neck! The whole head wakes up! I love that we're not going too far with range (overs stretching), as neck can be so fragile - yet we're getting great benefits from this gentle work.

So glad I found your video! I’ve never stretched my neck this way (with resistance) and it helped release the tightness right away! Thank you so much!

I found this useful and pleasant - very different from the usual more exaggerated neck postures. Thank you.

Hello and thank you! Ahh, breathing. It can be a toughie! There is no exact formula with this work, intentionally. Sometime I will cue here abs there but as time goes, breathing will come more naturally! Just make sure to keep doing it! Fascia and breathing 😉

    Erin,
    I hope you can help!
Its helping my neck, but, at “can opener” 11:14- 11:41 my shoulder goes forward, neurotically i i am having trouble finishing this move.

Hello Cindy and thank you for asking! I would suggest retracting AND slightly rotating the shoulders back and waiting until you feel the muscles under the shoulder blades contract before moving the elbows in. When you do move the elbows in, if you feel your shoulders coming up, stop the movement and start again!

But if the neck has lost its curve, then these exercises will only provide a little help, the curve has to be bought back to be normal

I agree, but we need to start somewhere with the Fascia. If the neck isn’t ready for this, then doing fascial work elsewhere in the body can be helpful for the neck too!
