- Well that's a surprise! EA's latest game, set for release this coming Monday, has leaked from influencers who were invited to a preview event. Apex is a new Battle Royale game set in the Titanfall universe, made by Respawn Entertainment.

A Titanfall game without titans seems... silly. Like having a zombie apocalypse game with no zombies. But it's a battle royale anyway, where originality goes to die, so I guess that's another game to skip.
The mobility alone makes titanfall 2 great in my opinion

Battle Royale with Titans would be fantastic. That's where they missed the mark. They had a unique chance to put something out that NO ONE has. The greatest ever Mech game in the newest sensation of gameplay. Or, maybe just 8 v 8, 10 v 10, and 12 v 12 on much larger maps with maybe a buff in HP to cover the chaos.
Respawn was bought by EA after TF2 ..... I'm not so sure it was a 'mistake'

How does a monthly video subscription service figure a F2P game or any game for that matter is competition? I watch Netflix on my second monitor while I play games but even if I don't I'm not canceling my service because there is a game I want to play. There is a reason subscription services are ruling over cable... you can watch what you want when you want to. Like after you're done playing, or the next night.
And lets not forget about the C&C remaster although i dont think we're going to have it this year but hey it would be a good surprise

Anyone else think there is something off about Bellular's glasses? I think it is the clear frames. It makes it look like he just has nose peices on.

My biggest problem with gaming companies and dev's today are that they expect you to put in 100 hours a week on *their* game (as if none of us are currently juggling between 4-5 games to touch upon in my little bit of free time) ... I'm also not going to spend $60 every month on a new game or pay for 3 different live services fees or pay for loot boxes or waste real-money on skins/cosmetics ....
So basically my problem is that I'm being locked out of so much content just because I'm not meeting weekly challenges (like in CoD:WW2), competitive demands (like in FUT) or season passes (like Lvl. 100 Season Pass in Fortnite) and its fucking horrible. Its showing how greedy some companies are from even a *TIME* perspective, not even just my wallet. This shit needs to stop ASAP.
You're underselling the campaign for Titanfall 2.
It was a masterpiece. Compare it to all of its contemporaries... it outdid all of them in set piece design, creativity, core gameplay loop and all while achieving a perfect balance of length to quality. They didn't stretch it to 10 hours because. They crafted a solid experience and let its value be decided based on that. It is miles beyond any single player shooter campaigns we've seen in the last 10 years. (Speaking of games where multiplayer is the focus and the campaign is almost a side dish)

I wonder if they’re just taking a shotgun approach for their releases. Anthem seems like it’s going to receive lukewarm reception, so maybe they’re pushing these other two out to try and scoop up as much as they can.

The only Battle Royalle idea I would even consider playing myself would be something set in the Mass Effect universe. If EA wants to pump out Battle Royalles with pre-existing shooter engines in order to capitalize on the genre, give me something with more pre-existing lore I'm already familiar with and attached to, and I'd be more inclined to check it out purely based off of my love for the original franchise. lol (Just don't try to work it into the lore somehow.)

If it's just a case of Apex being developed alongside TF3, then I couldn't give a shit. If Apex is being developed as opposed to TF3, I will be extremely pissed off. It almost seems like EA is actively trying to kill Respawn and is just looking for an excuse.

I agree I will play fallen order because I just love star wars and cobble it up. The recent movies not as exciting but the games I hope can redeem.
it's probably was first made as dlc for titanfall 2 as a new mode. But since titanfall 2 is not doing so well, they seperate it. but I don't really think the world need another BR game. And this one is rumored will have lootbox in it's microtransaction...and it's publish by EA...so no thanks. and about your hope for Jedi game from respawn being like God of War, what I think it will be more attune of Jedi Outcast/Academy with emphasis on multiplayer experience/live service. EA already said multiple times, they are not making anymore single player focus games.

Everything about this is saying to me that EA, once again, is trying to fit a game into the trending cash cows. It's possible that this may be a good iteration on the BR genre. However, I am done giving EA the benefit of the doubt.
The way BFV is going I see Firestorm being terrible...

Titan fall needs to be a looter shooter with missions for single player or pvp I want to do a mission that’s already hard and then someone on the other faction is doing the same mission but in order to finish we have to fight the other guy or guys to complete it not all missions should be pvp but larger missions with a chance to be pvp it’s not guaranteed so you never know if anther titan will drop in until they are right on you and will it be one or a hole team but don’t set it up like a typical death match or other pvp games I want it to be exactly like I’m playing a 1 player or 4 player looter shooter missions with other players that are out to get to the finish line first and have to kill you to trip you up from getting the item and then you have to escape to your factions Territory or Secure a base and lock it up so the other players can’t keep coming but keep in mind if hacking and small entry points that titans can fit so it’s up to you to get in and unlock the door without the aid of your titan if you let the enemy lock the door but also you can slowly seal all entryways for the slow and long but easier win or simply just be running around the world in your factions safe zone for the exploration part or venture into the no mans land and risk pvp if you run into enemy players for huge battles with all allies shown on map so you know where the battle is but only enemies seen by allies directly will be displayed on map but this can be countered by adding stealth Tex to the titans or yourself but doing so will hide you from Alice as well so you can’t expect backup without reviling your location unless you are directly in a squad THAT would be the perfect titanfall to me

Titanfall 2 was really good. Just way to short. Wouldn't pay more than 5$ for that game. beat it in about 4-5 hours.

captain? Lord Gabens voice boomed over the commotion, bringing silence
to the surrounding crowd and startling the veteran knight. Me lord, he
replied, these... people seek asylum here, and I have chosen to refuse
entry. The captain stood tall, gripping his limited edition Highwind
spear tightly as Lord Gaben approached the gate. I see you belong to a
house pledged to Sony, Lord Gabens eyes fixate on the blue shoulder

thrust it into the air, let this be the first banner of the Mobile
houses we welcome into our ranks. I ask you all, should we not simply be
allowed to buy and play our games... with our fellow gamers, without
being forced to pay more than we can, without worrying where you will
have to purchase it from? Gone are the days where we can pick up a game
and enjoy it, and it's entirety without a battle sparking over it. Lord
Gaben rammed his clenched fist into the stone wall, a heavy boom echoed
throughout the streets, welcome these poor souls into our alliance, for
anyone who plays for fun should be allowed to do so! The ensuing roar of
the crowd grew louder and louder as the mobile users shambled into the
city, many quickly found others they could bond with other titles that
has bridged the mobile and console markets. Lord Gaben look now to the
man who stood next to him, what was your master's name lad? Coughing as
the lad spoke, Candy....Crush, for many years I paid to mine their
golden bars.... I just wanted to know what the next zone would be like..
each level grew harder and harder. Lord Gaben tighten the grip on his
shoulder, rise now as house Crusher, the war will be long... and we know
not who will win but I seek a market where all can play the games they
wish no matter their platform choice. The man now stood tall, a smile
beaming as he accepted the kind words of Lord Gaben, I shall not let you
down me lord. Lord Gaben returned a heart warming smile, I am glad for
we will need many in the days to come. Clouds started to darken the sky
above, the once bright market that brought such joy has been damaged,
minor factions now form to battle one another as the true masterminds
watch from the shadows. Who now will heed the call, will gamers rise up
and fight or will a divided house crumble as Lord Gaben makes his last
stand. House Friendly has done their duty, will you?

There's already a game called APEX so don't know what they're going to call it. I assume they've checked that fact but hey it's EA... maybe not. All this battle royale stuff is done to death now. I remember when Battle Royale was just a good japanese film that got ripped off by holywood as The hunger games.
I'm not a fan of BR games, and I feel like the success of pubg has hurt a lot of titles I was legitimately interested in (paragon's death was directly at the hands of pubg's success), but a BR set in the Titanfall universe just might be enough to get me to play one. I was in the original Titanfall beta and really enjoyed it, but never really jumped on it, because by the time I could justify buying it (despite EA's evilness), most people had moved on, and when Titanfall 2 came along it wasn't even on the radar for me as a result of that EA badge.
And here I am, despising Blizzard for the state of probably the game I have devoted the most time to in my life by a factor of 100, and looking forward to seeing Anthem happen (praying that EA doesn't murder it with their shady predatory B.S.) and somewhat hyped to play a BR game from EA....

@@Xero_Kaiser Eh, the dev team was doing some interesting things toward the end, and the game was really starting to shape up into something quite fun to play, though I personally preferred the original card system back in the very first beta. It definitely had a lot of stuff going against it (not the least of which being that the dev team was a bit aimless up until the last 6 or 12 months).... Either way, it was specifically cancelled to focus on fortnight, and without the success of pubg pushing epic into doing the BR fortnight, paragon may still be around today.

Well I probably won't be playing Apex if it actually is coming out on Feb 4. I loved Titanfall 1 and 2 but Apex just sounds like something I would not enjoy. I hated Siege for not being a true Rainbow Six game, and Battle Royale games have just never appealed to me either.
So many people are looking at apex as another BR game. And saying BR is dead.
BR as a genre is not dead. But paid BR games are pretty much going to die, thanks to Fortnite.
If Apex requires players to pay $20-30 to own the game, then it's not going to take off. Considering it was by EA, it might die even faster.
