- In our final Virtual Sunday School before summer break, Father Maggos explores the Book of Revelation - the final Book of the Bible and New Testament. What is the Orthodoxy stance on the Book and its strange predictions about the (supposed) future?
We'll see you again in September!!

Fr. Maggos, Thank you so much for all of your lessons and videos. I am an Orthodox Christian. I was a teacher in my Church's Catechetical Sunday School for the 11th & 12th grades for several years. Now, I teach the adult Sunday class. I have used many of your videos for great references for my classes. I have taught classes to many "Cradle Orthodox" and to many "Converts" to our Church. I and my wife, are "converts" also. Our only regret in converting is that, we didn't convert much, much sooner! Thank you and please keep continuing this great (and much needed) work!
Father l so appreciate your words of wisdom. I attend a Greek Orthodox church in the Bronx NY. I'm 64 years old and recently have been reading many books on the saints of Mount Athos. Please tell me father ; the issue of Ecumenism is really pressing me on what should l do. Should l attend a church that embraces Ecumenism or should l find a non Ecumenical church. Please advise me in this father . God love you.............Gus Papadopoulos'...
Non Ecumenism So I would go to a ROCOR church
Thor 😂💖 Love the teaching along with the humor.
This is beautiful. Thank you.
Christ Jesus has conquered sin and death.
Christ Is Victorious!
Revelation is the work of God Alone.
This is Why Orthodox Christians do not read from or stress over the book of Revelation.
Because when you have Christ, you need Nothing else.
Though this may be, Rev 1:1 reads "blessed are those who hear it, and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near."
So if it's a blessing to read and know the things of this prophecy, then it serves in our faith somehow and should teach about it more and pray that the holy spirit would give us wisdom on the subject.
Come for the New Testament, stay for the Old Testament!
You are dismissing (virtually making fun of) a book of the bible that Jesus gave to the Apostle John instead of trying to discern what it means. I don't think that is something that pleases Jesus and the Father.
It is. I found out by meditation about Mount Sion.
They should have a church there. And change the name. Mount herman is NOT THE NAME OF THAT MOUNTAIN. GOD BLESS
Xristos Anesti Father. Saint Paisos mentions the barcode label is the start of the implementation of the 666 mark of the beast. How do you not know this? Please clarify if I am missing any context.
He knows this, he touched on it in a pervious video on UFOs and extraterrestrials. Even though that was part of a different series, that context might be useful. Also, this series is mainly aimed at children/younger people, so it's going to pass over some details.
Also, St Paisios IS a Saint for sure, but he's not God, and Saints are not oracles. Even their words should be taken in light of the whole teaching of the Church. This is why we have consensus of the Fathers and dogma outlined in Council. We have to be careful
Just because a saint said something doesn't mean it's cannon.
掩八紘而爲宇 In your opinion. Carry on.
Fr, what does Revelation 1:14-15 mean? I hear a bunch of people saying it means Jesus is black, but that doesn’t look like what we have depicted in our icons.
The appearance he takes on here is not how he normally looked before his crucifixion. And I don’t see how those verses would imply that.
I suppose they’re making reference to the brass feet. But that color wouldn’t have been brown or black, since the color of his feet is of brass recently taken out of the furnace. That ranges from shining orange to white. Which is consistent with the way he’s described in the whole passage. Hair White as snow, Eyes as a Flame of Fire, and in verse 16 “…and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.”
@@boardbill5852 I had learned this a while ago, thanks though
