    Clubs do it pre season over in America, Asia etc every year without it being an issue.
    As for Gareth Southgate being concerned about it ahead of the Euros, I'm more annoyed that the premier league is interrupted by "international duty" for 2 weeks either 2 or 3 games into the new premier league season as player's always come back injured.

    • @beyond_hope
      @beyond_hope Před měsícem

    3 days after premier league season ends yes but 3 days before fa cup final, a week before europa conference league final and 10 days before champs league final. I think the problem here is that the big Prem clubs have been moaning about too many fixtures. This indirectly led to the phasing out of FA Cup replays. Replays are a financial godsend to teams further down the pyramid. So 2 big teams travelling on a 20,000 mile round trip for a money spinning friendly 3 days after the end of the season is bound to piss off people. Especially fans of smaller clubs who watch big clubs generate even more money while they have the chance of a financial lifeline taken away from them.

    • @beyond_hope
      @beyond_hope Před měsícem +1

      Not necessarily fans of smaller clubs. Anyone other than fans of those clubs involved, as the comments here show. It's so hypocritical of EPL clubs. Our players play too many games so let's drop games that rarely happen to us so we can go around the world for friendlies.

    Get off it Jim. They're getting a holiday to play a friendly game in Australia, and they will earn a fortune for doing so, I don't think they'll mind much. Some of us with physical jobs end every week shattered and broken and choose to play football whenever we can fit it in. Players in some pro leagues have to work other jobs. This will allow fans in Australia to see their team on person more easily, it is not a big issue.....
    Plus it allows Tottenham to play a big team which will be nice for them 😬
