- On May 15, 2019, Montgomery College's DMS Program Class of 2019 graduated!!!! This is my recap of the pinning ceremony and our amazing celebration! Don't judge me for celebrating bc I have worked SO HARD to get to this moment! This journey to becoming a sonographer was a make it or break it journey and I sure was not going to let it break me!
I started the program at 19 being the youngest in my class and was always talked down to or underestimated bc I was so young, but look at me now, I am 21 as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer in ABD AND OB/GYN with the same credentials and making that money at the same level as others.
I share that just to show that you cannot get discouraged if you start your journey in sonography! You have to keep going, thats with any career in medical!
I hope you enjoy this fun video bc I will and love the memories with it.
Thank you MC, Dr. Zanin, and all the clinical staff for not failing us! BECAUSE WE MADE IT.
KRISTY LE RDMS IS HERE!!!!
Feel free to contact me @KristyDMS on IG for any questions!! :)
When you get a job in this field, can you make a day in the life video. I am curious what the work schedule is and how harsh the hours are.
I have hospital day in the life videos if you want to see what that’s like! 💖
Omg No way!!! Congrats 🍾 I remember when u just started school!! I’ll be graduating in summer 2020! Can’t wai👩🏻🎓
West Coast Ultrasound Institute Los Angeles 🧠

You motivate me more to go into the DMS Program the college I attend has !! I graduated 2018 from HS and i went for my fall semester of college but wasn’t able to go for spring meaning I didn’t finish my freshmen year in college.. and I feel very behind .. but you just motivate me even more!! I’m currently taking summer classes (I didn’t want to waste more time) and I’m currently focusing on prerequisites atm and when I’m done with those I’ll be ready to apply for program next fall! I just want to say thank you for your vlogs and encouragement!

Thanks for sharing your DMS student experience and your convocation day. It has encouraged me to be tedious towards obtaining my RDMS degree.
Congrats love !! Goals !!
I have gone through most of your videos and being a student who finished 2 years of community college that doesn't know exactly what to do, I am considering this career. Your videos are very helpful, thank you.
Congratulations!!! 🎉🎊🎉🎉

Can’t wait to start school! I want to be in an ultrasound Tech!
Aww this looks so funnn! I really wanna experience this :)
YOU FREAKING DID IT GIRL!
Congratulations Kristy, you deserve this accomplishment. Your dedication, studying, and time towards this degree was well worth it. I am so eager to graduate now lol so, I can also become an RDMS as well.

Omg I go to Montgomery college too! Applying to the program next year, so scared. You are my goal 😭😭
I’m so happy for you girl❤️ If I’m accepted next year in the program, i’ll be a Class of ‘22 graduate! 😚 Don’t forget to continue your vids please.
Margarita Perez I used to have another major so I practically wasted almost a year in college. I’m starting my first semester of the prereq for DMS now during summer B. I will be taking two classes but for fall and spring I will take 5 per semester. I’m quite nervous but 🤷🏽♀️ you never know till you try.
Congrats 🍾
Congrats!!
Hey Kristy! Glad to see Uve made it thru! I was wondering how the job market is where ever ur at (without giving away ur location)? This is prob my most fav video of urs! I literally Day dream about my pinning party. Next yr! Any advice for someone whose got 8 more months of school left ???
Love this ....
Please do a video about the job opportunities in your area, how difficult or easy was it to find a job, any regrets/ successes, and maybe stories of how other people in your class are doing now after they graduated.
Can you do a 'whats in my sonography bag" video? Like what you would put in your backpack/bag when you went to clinical or to the hospital?
Congratulations! I just got accepted to CVS school!
Congrats 🥂🍰
Congrats! Im trying to get there.
Hi there! I’m currently in university in Canada and wanting to applying for sonography schools around Canada in the next few months. I was wondering if I could ask you some questions !
-I was wondering where can students work in clinicals?
-where are all the facilities sonographers can work in?
-what would be the best specialties a sonographer have to get a job right after school?
-does ones work pay for continuing education (if one wanted more specialties?)
-what are the working hours like for sonography ? Is it possible to work Monday to Friday 8-4 kind of thing? Or always random, on call, night shifts?
-thank you for your time!!! 🙏🏼
Cheers,
Natasha
I would love to see a day in the life during your work day! I am pre ultrasound right now, and I’m debating going into nurse l&d. I like the lower stress that I think an ultrasound tech would have but I feel like nursing might have more opportunity to advance?
Hey ! I just started school for sonography and I’m very excited and nervous. Any advice or tips ?
Congrats
Congrats girl! Can’t wait to have my white coat!
Do they give the white coat when you graduate or while in the program?
@@reemaabdul6022 the place you’re work at gives you one
Hi
Congrats ☺👍🥂
I really want to do the program but I couldn't apply for autumn 2019 so if u could plz tell me who should I talk to about the classes I need to take and who can I ask other general questions ☺
Congrats beautiful ! I’m also interested in this career and hopefully I can apply and get accepted and start ASAP.
I heard this field is highly saturated and difficult to find a job after graduation. I'm in CA and I'm considering this program (currently in college).
Please continue to make videos
I'm currently going for nursing but I'm also interested in sonography. I need some advice :(
Would you say sonography has alot of jobs and are high in demand? (I'm from Florida)
Danny Pham dude! Totally in the same boat. I ended up just doing both. Getting my lvn and then getting into sonography is now the goal. With the specialties that you can go into it’s literally a book you study and then there is a state test. Passing each test for each specialty brings u up in demand and your pay. Neuro seems to be the highest paid specialty where I’m at. Idk if this helps lol! But I’d say while your young and don’t have a fam to take care of do it! (Do both of possible) maybe finish nursing and work and see if u like it and go from there. Either way I’m sure you will do well. 😊👍🏽
I will be applying for the limited access DMS program and I am so scared of not being selected and then backing out , for anyone that has been in a limited access program, exactly how hard is it? And when being selected based off of the “point system” , whats the recommended amount of points & is it recommended 100% to take anatomy 2?
OMG ME TOO! Please let me know how it goes! My DMS program is HIGHLY selective and competitive :( what prereqs did you take before applying?
I just had a job interview w a sonographer and employer. Sonographer said her salary min was 20 per hour. Is that how much the regular pay for this profession?
Depends on where you work and live but most places pay more than that.
does anyone know if sonographers can work 3 12hour shifts like nurses or do they have to work a regular 9-5
they can do both!
You finished the program in just 2 years?!? Is that possible for everybody or were you just very smart?
My program was a 2 year program!
I wish I was smart like you.. 😢
How is Kristy THAT pretty!
Would you say this field is a more female dominated field?
Dollar Bills yes, I believe females dominate around 85% of this field.
Sonographers get a white coat ceremony?
Really hope nobody drove after they cranked . But nice video
Its all fun and games until your getting called in to work at 2 AM🤦♂️
BestSportVideos wait what
Do they actually call that early? Lol
