In the game she actually has a line of saying her own name without the u at the end and in that case the canon is Dimitresc(u) with a silent u at the end. Ergo Dimitresk... I called her Dimitrescu until i heard her say something like "you will never leave the Dimitresk castle" where she clearly says her own name without the u. Who am i to question how she says her own name? The same way we can call each other Carl/Carlo/Karl/Charles/Károly etc whatever, but i'm actually Kárl, because that is what i prefer, but i write it differently. When someone tells me their name i don't ask what country are you from and how they pronounce your name, i just try to say what they say. I think its more disrespectful if you directly say someones name differently than how they pronounce it despite the fact that they just told you. If the actress pronunciation was wrong that is still canon, because that's in the game.

Yep! And their family crest is roses over crossed swords. The necklace is also a rose motif. And there is a dragon like creature (no spoilers) whose open mouth resembles a rose. RE8 did a great job with having a cohesive design for her whole section of the game.

The character dating all lines up as well. The primary antagonist in the game started creating the minor-antagonists after their daughter died from the spanish flu which went from 1918-1920. Lady Dimitrescu adorning wear from fanciful and higher class women of the 30's would most definitely be because she was growing up in the 10's and 20's and settled into her immortal-ish villainous role in the late 1920's-early 1930's. That's her wear because that's what she thought was the pinnacle of class when she was a normal woman.

Another Slav here. It's because most Slav languages are just "say what you see." Like a semi-famous tumblr post points out, "minute and minute shouldn't be spelled the same," English is just confusing to languages where letters have only one pronunciation that doesn't change. Japanese is also relatively similar in this aspect (re sound is always re, no rii or rei) if you don't count in the amount of kanji and other non-latin alphabet system stuff.

For the record, the word "homage" can be pronounced the way you did at first, I think the way the phone did it is more common in the US.
I can’t speak for the entire US but at least in my region it’s “o-MADJ,” I’ve never heard it pronounced the way the phone said it

Oddly enough, the Japanese version of the game even gets the pronunciation mostly correct. It's ドミトレスク, read 'Domitoresuku', so I'm not sure how or why the english version ended up dropping the ku

Although ドミトレスク is still pretty wrong, since they decided to make it Do instead of Di. It should have been ディミトレスク. So this is pronounced exactly like in Japanese but make sure to lose the extra vowels (o from to and u from su)

Absolutely agreed! A lot of people seem to thing fashion and video games aren't really related or even on opposite sides of a certain spectrum, but personally a lot of my fashion inspiration comes from iconic video game character looks. Playing video games has actually allowed me to be more brave and pull off some more "extra" outfits!

I love listening to her speak. The low purr she had in her voice was so gorgeous. I don’t know of any other person sounding even remotely similar to her. It’s a one of a kind and will likely never be forgotten!
She was such a badass, honestly. As a woman who is proud of my femininity, women like Mae West are an inspiration. I feel like nowadays people shame femininity and see it as a weakness. It makes me sad.
