Also using an undershirt makes the shirt look better as sometimes you can see the skin, specially if you have darker skin like me. Many people don't like to wear them but I think for a formal shirt its a must.

I always wear an undershirt by habbit and just always do. It does make the shirt looks better especially if its thin and seem like it can see thru the shirt. But for me one big reason is also if i sweat through the armpit it does not sweat thru the shirt or as much. I just hate seeing people wear a bright shirt and sweating thru the armpit of the shirt.

I live in the southern United States where tempratures can be above 90 degrees all summer. Add to that a 60-75 percent humidity and the t-shirt might have to be left at home. A suit jacket, dress shirt and tie with the t-shirt underneath can be uncomfortable. I don't own a t-shirt. The new well dressed me will be buying a few. I'm in your RMRS community. Thanks for everything.

Nice tips, one reason I avoid dress shirts usually is the ones I usually can afford..don't really fit a bigger guy like myself and the collar always chokes me. The older I get the more..well..old fashioned I become and my idea of what I find nice looking as dress cloths goes back to my maternal great grandfather who loved to wear full suits..dress shirt, pants, suit jacket, dress shoes, and a fedora. My grandmother was born in 1948 so you can guess the kind of style her father would have worn through the years.

Antonio, you should interview Chuck Surack, founder and CEO of Sweetwater. Sweetwater is the largest music retailer in the USA, and when it comes to customer service, Sweetwater is the king. Musicians all over the world, including me, have never had a bad experience with Sweetwater, it’s always been good. Their headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana is second to none. They got a music store, 3 recording studios, a cafe, a diner, a hair/nail salon, a fitness center with personal trainer, a racketball court, a free arcade, a putting green, a golf simulator, a video library for employees, and even a slide!!! You haven’t lived until you’ve seen a slide in a music store!! But what’s really great about Sweetwater is that you build a relationship with your Sweetwater Sales Engineer. They’re musicians too. They know what you need and they’ll help you thoroughly. They won’t rest until you’re satisfied with what you have.
Now Chuck Surack himself started Sweetwater as a portable recording studio in his VW bus, which there’s a replica of when you walk into the building. His rule when it comes to customer service is a Golden Rule that everyone should follow: treat others the way that you want to be treated. He calls it the Sweetwater Difference. And he’s a musician himself, he plays saxophone and keyboards.
And on top of that, he wears a suit!!!

I tend to spend a bit more on dress shirts than the average person I know and even though I never wear them with an undershirt, when they break or become unwearable in another way, it's never staining etc. but instead the fabric breaking down, usually at the edges of the cuff or collar.

I usually like to have my dress shirts a bit on the loose side, but I usually wear them with a skirt that starts at the waist. Unfortunately many of my old dress shirts are worn out enough that they don't feel nice anymore, and only look good with a jacket (and my only jacket I can wear them with is a '70's army dress jacket I found at an antique shop), so I'm trying to phase them out a bit. I don't think I want to replace them, especially after seeing this. I'll just end up with the same 6 shirts all over again. I think I'll start getting dresses instead. That way I won't have to buy skirts either.

I’ve used their shirts pretty much exclusively for more than 30 years. They aren’t cheap, but excellent quality. They come with the usual removable plastic collar bones, but better still you can get silver collar bones from H&K that don’t break, buckle or bend and keep the collar looking immaculate.

Nice video! But I have to disagree with the undershirt statement. A shirt should be washed after every wear and with a good deodorant you will not get any stains nor sweaty armpits. If you worry about skin showing through get a twill fabric or a light blue. My 2 cents

You speak too fast. All your videos are good information but request you to speak slowly because all devices do not have speed control like android tv.

...when all is said and done, just bottom-up that last bottom. 5:59 IF you are outside on a summers day, this is ok. Indoors, just no.

I can't wear the undershirt because I live in the tropics.
It'll just make you hot, uncomfortable, and sweat like crazy.

Just now got the feed. Save money: J A Banks or Men's Warehouse. Save MORE money: shop Ben Silver, Brooks Brothers, Maus & Hoffman, etc. off season. The tailors at any of the aforementioned merchants will size a client well. IMHO: 1) a comprehensive shirt wardrobe can be done with oxford button-down and spread collar broadcloth/twill exclusively, 2) unless one is a bodybuilder, rail thin, or obese, custom shirts are a vulgar hustle, and 3) buy collar stays from one of the companies that I mentioned. Compare Slick Collar products to Brooks, Silver, and M&S - nothing more need be said. RE: polo stays - don't wear a polo, instead opt for the henley. Short sleeve shirts are very casual - no need to tack a collar on them. For a better look go for the oxford button-down popover, and roll the sleeves when required.
p.s. Most higher end stores offer custom options (unfinished suits with basting, etc.). The tailor that fitted you for off-the-rack can most likely deliver near ideal clothing. So many "tailor" and "custom made" shops produce low grade products at premium prices. For a truly one-off, ask friends and family to reference a TAILOR, not a "tailor". Tony has mostly good content, but Slick Collar? Ben Silver doesn't sell or use the device... Better, relevant sponsors, please.
