I had a great dad growing. He taught me about dressing up. How to tuck a shirt, how to button it correctly, how to do a belt right etc
He passed away when I was 25 and we never got the chance to dress up together while I was an adult.
Fast forward 6 years later and here I am, getting coached by a legend in the game! Thanks for all you do Antonio. You've filled many voids my dad left, and for that Sir I am forever grateful!
God bless you and your family!

Love the videos, been a fan for a long time. In the UK we call it "off the peg" for an off the rack buy and a "tailored suit" is one custom or made to measure. I am a big fan of suits and love my collection, I've always worn suits since starting my working career (20+ years now) I work in London City Square mile. Trust me fit is the most important thing. I could only afford 100 pound suits when I joined the workforce however the guys around me in 5k suits thought mine was tailored and expensive because mine fit perfect. I would spend 4 hours finding the perfect fit then adding accessories to accentuate the style and look. RMRS is amazing and your videos are so good. Thanks again.

Love your work and content! I ride a motorcycle to commute almost daily. And being in a tropical country, it's pretty hot and wet here. While I wear full gear when riding, I often find myself dressed in quick drying fabric clothes that are usually used for sports or gym settings. If I were to dress up, what would be suitable? A shirt with tie, and probably a vest under the safety jacket? I'm not keen on giving up the safety jacket.

  • @walterfoyt5985

I realize everyone can’t afford bespoke, which is why you should go with custom. When you have the paints made they should have side adjusters or bottoms for spenders and a fishtail back. A well dressed gentleman does not wear a belt with a suit, which destroys the line of a suit. This is specially true for a three piece suit.
If you a having a black formal suit made it should have either peak lapels or shawl lapels. No notched lapels. It should also have no flaps on the pockets, a single button and no vent. While it not necessary I love no back pockets, which creates a smother line for the pants.

#1 advice, if you live within any realistic distance of NYC, find when your favorite designer is doing their sample sale, go on day 3 or 4. You'll be able to get killer suits that are usually $3000, for under $750 each.

I used to wear only french cuffs with gold or silver cufflinks, I love the turned back cuff. As life went on, I really got tired of the cufflinks clanking on desks, bartops, counters, etc. I took the jump and started ordering made to measure shirts with opera/cocktail cuffs, like in the old 007 movies. Most people don't even know what they are, lol, but I'm so much happier not having to deal with cufflinks and still having the turnback at the sleeve, particularly when my jacket is off...so much lighter. If you do this, make sure you give the shirtmaker accurately measured wrist circumference.

Bespoke isn't too much money in China. When I lived there I got bespoke suits made for $80. I was able to pick out every fabric, lining, cut, fit, but it took a little while. That being said, if you want bespoke suits, you can get them cheaper by flying to China and getting them. Even in Thailand, which is much easier to do because they cater to tourists and speak English, I got made to measure suits for just over $200 that took just under a week. Too bad none of them fit me anymore. Ah ageing.

    - 00:00 🕴 87% of first impressions are influenced by attire; a suit is the most common impactful outfit.
    - 00:20 📏 Definition: A suit is a jacket and trousers made from the same material, not just matching items.
    - 00:38 🏛 Style Pyramid: Fit, Function, and Fabric are crucial when purchasing a suit.
    - 01:14 🧵 Custom vs. Off-the-Rack: Custom suits fit better, especially for unique body types, while off-the-rack suits may require adjustments.
    - 02:29 🛒 Online vs. Offline: Online offers selection and convenience, while offline provides immediate availability and personal service.
    - 03:16 💰 Budgeting: Spend approximately half your monthly salary on a suit, including shoes and shirt.
    - 03:48 🔎 Ignore bespoke suits due to high cost; custom suits offer a good balance of fit and affordability.
    - 04:41 🛠 Custom Suit Process: Takes time with multiple fittings; requires clear communication to match your vision.
    - 05:32 🗣 Know Your Needs: Be specific about your requirements to avoid miscommunication and dissatisfaction.
    - 06:50 🔄 One at a Time: Order one garment first to ensure fit before committing to multiple items.
    - 07:32 👔 Fittings: Multiple fittings are common to perfect the fit; adjustments should be reflected in future garments.
    - 08:18 🏫 Community: Join a distraction-free, high-quality group for style learning and support.
    - 09:42 🎨 Suit Fabric: Color is crucial; avoid black suits for first purchases as they're too formal.

    - 11:57 👔 Gray Variations: Medium gray is less formal but highly versatile.
    - 12:45 🌞 Seasonal: Light gray suits are great for summer and add variety.
    - 13:45 🟤 Brown Suit: Suitable for casual settings, especially for those with darker or red hair.
    - 15:19 🌿 Tan Suit: Great for summer; a good secondary suit after light gray.
    - 15:48 🔷 True Blue: Popular in Europe and Asia; hard to find and best sourced through custom orders.
    - 16:35 ⚪ White Suit: Very niche and attention-grabbing; not recommended for a regular wardrobe.
    - 17:11 🔲 Patterns: Subtle patterns like herringbone are good starters; bold patterns like windowpane and pinstripes are more memorable.
    - 18:30 🧶 Best Material: 100% wool, specifically worsted wool, offers the best quality and drape for suits. Avoid blends with polyester.
