Absolutely baffling that the entire pyramid was not at least consulted. The FA is not fit for purpose.
Being a Rugby League fan; the Super League forced through changes that diminished the value of The Challenge Cup to the point that the BBC only screened live games on BBC1 or 2 at the Quarter Final stage... this sparks the beginning of the end of the FA Cup.
'Who cares what Lincoln Town think' - Simon Jordan
PL complain about number of fixtures. Non league play 46 league matches plus various cup competitions, have much smaller squads and vast majority of players have day time jobs. PL - stop moaning
All. The. Football league clubs. Should pull out. Of the fa cup. Watch them panic.
So let's get this right.. there are more football league founders below the prem.. there are more fa cup winners outside the prem.. yet they don't even get in on the conversation??
Yeah cause everyone going to listen to charlton fc chairman 0 ball knowledge
TV revenue is almost entirely to watch the Top 6 elite teams: Spurs, Chelsea Liverpool, etc. Exactly why should these Elite 6 fund the entire EFL as well as the other 14 small PL teams? This is why the Big 6 need a Super League away from these pathetic minnow teams and the Government can't stop them.
@@FredEmberg4444 Spurs last won league in 1961 lol Super League you're having a laugh!
@@FredEmberg4444spurs? 😂😂😂😂
What makes it even stranger is that ALL replays are gone…even before the 3rd round, when the big boys aren’t even in it!
yet funnily enough the replays in the qualifying rounds remain. So professionals in League One or Two can put their feet up in midweek but part-time footballers that earn a living as a builder will have to hop on the motorway for an FA Cup Replay in the 2nd qualifying round on a 4 hour round trip on a Wednesday evening.
Absolutely fantastic contribution from Martin Keown
Big boys saying sod the efl clubs. Crazy
with anything in life there needs to be give and take. If the big boys want rid of the replays (which i understand) Then give the EFL something in return for that, whether its a greater slice of the premier league money or something else. Similar for the fans, listen to the room for once, fans probably don't want to lose the replays, but give them something back, no VAR in any round of the FA cup, put the semi finals back in neutral venues, have kick off returned to 3pm. The problem is they just want to do exactly what they want to do and don't care about the fans or the entire pyramid. They need to be very careful they don't badly mess this up.
If the big boys are playing too much football ,making more in europe its simple if your in the champions league or europa league , then you dont play in the domestic cups .This would give other clubs a chance of winning silverware.
the way things are heading i can see the prem pulling out of the cash pyramid and eventually stopping relegation and promotion.
the fa cup must be boycotted
Question for Simon. What is football without the fans?
I remember Everton being drawn away to Sheffield Wednesday in the cup, it took four games to decide the tie. Best cup replay ever was Everton 4-4 Liverpool. Often more magic in the replay than in the first game. Football is about the whole pyramid not the top six premier league clubs only. Maybe if the top flight clubs put out their strongest team there wouldn't be so many replays. Supporters must realise that they are no longer important.
My chairman 💯
Just another pathetic attempt to stop other clubs growing.
What club??
@@wickedmanrick2582🤦
If you do well in all comps of course you will play more matches it's legit baffling when teams complain...as a Liverpool fan all Klopp does is complain then says the team doesn't need new players when he plays a pressing style where all players sprint after the ball all game.
Boycott would be great drama 😂
Never wanted the european 'super league' before but I'm starting to think go for it. Our game would probably be better off without them, able to thrive and not be held down
How is it that an 8 person group, 4 of which are representing the EFL did not inform the EFL of the decision they made to end replays 😂
Sir Jordanite = Top LAD Proper Clobber 💯 Facts
I think if a non league, or lower efl club are drawn at home to man utd then they should be offered the opportunity to switch the tie to old Trafford for the financial gain, and given a larger portion of the revenue

EFL dont run the FA Cup, the FA does. EFL could put replays into the League cup if they want.
😂 1:22
No replays could also benefit the lower league clubs. Imagine if Tranmere had an away tie at Liverpool and managed a draw against them. Instead of taking Liverpool back to Tranmere, the game would go to penalties and that would give Tranmere a great chance of knocking Liverpool out and going to the next round. Whereas if it went to a replay, the chances are that Liverpool would win the replay
Good. Too many football games for players and fans. Next - scrap the Caraboa cup and reduce the number of teams in EPL to 17.
Yay first
Ha!! GAAAAAAY
Of course if tranmere or Bradford were in the EPL and Champions league I’m sure they wouldn’t be complaining at all.
Nonsense comment.
Prem clubs have the resources and squads to play these games! Efl clubs don't yet play 2 games every week.. nobody complains about playing too much. Money has corrupted and destroyed the prem. Not many fans even want to get there as they know they will just get pumped literally every game. Look at the relegation places now.. all 3 are promoted teams.. the gulf and rules aren't even feasible anymore for lower league clubs
@@petegas2025 of course it isn’t, if they were making millions in the EPL/Champs league they also wouldn’t care about the lower leagues it’s just matter of fact.
@@adamboow8299 then why do all the fans/players celebrate when they get promoted to the EPL? I’ve never once seen a team try to not be promoted…
@@graememarsh that doesn’t make it right.
Wigan was the last EFL winner. Get over it ffs
Once you alienate the vast majority of football fans in the country, you'll undermine the sport itself.
They were a Premier League team when they won it.
I think scrapping the replays is a terrible idea, but if they were definitely going to scrap them, they should make the lower ranked side play at home in each tie, to help them make money. I'd rather they kept the replays though.
The lower ranked sides want to play away and split 50% of the gate receipts of the larger stadium don't they?
No your telling me a team would rather play at home instead of old trafford the etihad or the emirates what a clown
I mean. I can't juggle. I can't ride unicycle. I can't tame lions. But I'll take the compliment. Thank you, you waste disposal expert.
the top players at the top clubs are playing too much football, as shown this week by the English clubs exit from football, like everything in life football changes, the replays had to go, players are not robots
Do you realise that championship clubs play more games than most prem clubs? Don't have the squad depth and resources.. and guess what!! They don't complain. Coventry have a chance to reach the fa cup final ffs
@@adamboow8299 Do championship clubs play in Europe, and have as many players called up for international football, something has to give if you want quality to maintain, and Im also a fan of Championchip football., just the top level footballers are being over played - something has to give.
Good job they've got loads of resources, 25 man squads and academies to call on then! Poor lambs.
@@thebaz_dublinnothing has to give nothing has to change. It’s causing a problem where there was no problem.
You come across as an elitist narcissistic c……
Why the outrage when you could go straight to penalties and have a higher chance of progressing equaling even more revenue than a replay.
EFL owners are creating ripples in still waters just for the sake of making noise. The replay is as outdated as any lingering redundancy in the game can be. What’s next? They will want the pass back rule to be abolished? To subject throw-ins to the offside rule? Away goal and replay rules stagnate the game, they don’t make the game better. This will make giant slayings all the more epic and create a whole new era of romance around smaller clubs clobbering Goliath on the pitch of glory.
The backlash is about denying lower league teams the opportunity of playing Premier League teams either at their own ground or at the more lucrative venue of the Premier League club...the charm and pragmatic benefits of the FA Cup will be eroded for lower league clubs.
lower league clubs are outdated and redundant too
@@taykitrleevitt4314 this is simply solved by playing matches against the bigger clubs at their stadiums instead because if the argument here is to give lower league clubs home games hoping to draw in hope of forcing a replay match at the bigger parks, that’s simply anti-football so you might as well install a two-legged tie format and simplify it but that is itself counterintuitive to the objective here which is to reduce the number of games rather than increase them. Most big clubs already give smaller clubs the benefit of playing early round matches in the FA Cup fielding largely reserve to academy players anyway so if anything, the abolishment of the replay throughout will increase the number of smaller sides advancing further since those top clubs playing in the various continental tournaments are more likely to preserve their stars giving the Davidian sides greater odds at felling Goliath. Frankly, the EFL is right to speak up but this is a Goliath I am afraid David cannot win against.
Good !! Whats the whinge about the ESL then ? Bring it on ! The PL is a plastic sports franchise league full of plastic sports franchise clubs who only want money. The ESL will give their franchise holders what they want and their plastic fans can enjoy this modern new football world!
TV revenue is almost entirely to watch the Top 6 elite teams: Spurs, Chelsea Liverpool, etc. Exactly why should these Elite 6 fund the entire EFL as well as the other 14 small PL teams? I’m with the big boys on these. Smaller clubs are too greedy and constantly tries to squeeze money out of big clubs. Give big club option if they want to even play the fa cup and don’t punish them if they opt out. Let’s see how the fa cup survive without the big clubs
Utter nonsense 😂 The top of the pyramid relies on those below to keep afloat - where do you think English players, youth players, coaches etc come from? Do you think they grow in the ground 😂. Non league and lower league football is booming as more people are priced out of watching premier league teams in favour of their plastic foreign fans. Many more will turn their back on the premier league. Let's see how well they do without the fans.
The smaller clubs are too greedy? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EFL clubs are very very small clubs
There are more founding members in the efl than the prem. They just do as they please without a care for the pyramid. And your arrogant comment shows that your not a true fan
Still bigger than bournemouth and brentford
The same FA that gave the world the MK Dons. Jokers
