Here is my video on what I think is best to be feeding your hedgehog!
All of this is my opinion that I formed on research, so you do not have to agree with what I'm saying if you use something else! :-)

**There are so many more to choose from and so much room to be diverse in what you are wanting to try! Just always look at your ingredients and aim for the meat based foods with no by-product! Corn is a no go as well, it is only a filler!
-try and stay in between 10-15% fat and 30-35% protein give or take a few percentages.

Cat food is best :) Glad you switched! I've had hedgehogs live over 8 years on quality cat food with freezedried mealworms mixed in. I mostly fed Blue Buffalo or Royal Canin. Of course treats of plain baked chicken, fruits, and veggies from time to time.

I’m getting a hedgehog on Saturday morning and I really took your advice I trust you a lot with Hedgehogs so I got the exact same food use! I definitely trust and think that it’s a very good fit I really really want something organic and to only give my Hedgehog an organic and healthy diet with that cat food celery and carrot and meal worms occasionally! When should I start including meal worms in its diet
I feed my hedgehog Blue Buffalo Wilderness Cat Food Weight Control. It has 36% protein and 12% fat. The first ingredient is Deboned chicken and the next two are chicken and turkey meal. There isn’t any corn or grains. I was wondering if this was okay to keep feeding him on? His old owner had him on Purina Kitten Chow but he is 3 years old.

Lizzy Rose i just feed him at night because that's when he wakes up! And 2 tablespoons sounds about right! I just scoop his bowl into the bag until its about half full.

Hey, Liv. So our breeder suggested their cage for the hedgie so we're getting it even after I tried very hard to convince my mom not to. It's only 30 inches long not sure how wide. She returned the living world cage. Is that size cage suitable? I'd rather have the cage we were getting but she won't listen to me and I don't know if that size cage is even ok it seems super small.
RainingVlogs well thats about two and a half feet! Which is pretty good! And if the breeder recommends it then i would take her advice into consideration as well :-) they dont need a whole lot of room. Just be sure you have a proper wheel.

Hey, I had one more question. So our breeder won't send the hedgie home without proof of a proper heating source and cage. We got her recommended heat lamp but we already got the living world XL cage and she says not to get it because it's hard to heat correctly. I'm pretty worried that she won't approve it because of the cage we picked. Any tips on how to get it heated to the right temp with a heat emitting lamp? Thank you
You don't necessarily have to have it attached to the cage! I used to have a heat lamp and I had it attached to an outside steady source (like a railing or a sturdy clothing rack) I would just place the cage accordingly. You can also make your own little stand for the lamp to clamp onto (Assuming you got a clamping lamp). I honestly just use a heating pad and put it under my cage for pips heat source. But either works! just be sure you keep a thermostat close and it doesn't get too hot because that could be scary!

Exotic Nutrition is a good brand for exotic animals.
Despite popular belief, it isn't healthy for them. Some say it is like eating mcdonalds daily. For hedgehogs, in their complete formula, the first ingredient is bloodmeal, which is not an efficient protein source. You should have some sort of meat as the first ingredient, like chicken. Also, there is a lot of corn, which is not good either. For sugar gliders, sugar gliders should not be eating pellets. Their diet is much more complicated, and you should stick to homemade staple diets, like BML or HPW. The instant HPW they sell is much too high in protein for them, and can cause health issues. However, gliderade is a good product for gliders, and their treats for both gliders and hedgehogs are good, and I'd recommend them. I hope this was informational. :)
I use purinas indoor cat natural for my hedgehog Hermione the breeder I got her from used it and had no problems so that's what I use

Joelle Chiong some do and some dont. I wouldnt do it until you know more about your hedgehog because binge eating can cause obesity and that could be really bad for the hedgie. I would just stick with about 2 tablespoons a day. Maybe three.

Alyssa Hood probably should just stick to one food or it can mess with their bellies. High quality cat food is the best way to go honestly.
