    if you'd put a piece of paper or cardboard between the egg cartons then you'll have a lot neater looking colony. and investing in some cardboard trays would help keep their enclosure clean as well because you won't have all the petrified carrots and apples. and maybe consider not using apples because they stain and go bad a lot quicker than the carrots. the carrots petrify while the apples rot basically

      I have a question and help me please.. i bought some roaches and the store guy told me they are dubia roaches. When i put them on plastic box they start climbing and I heard that dubia roaches can’t climb. So do they climb or no??

      @@xxd5doo5xx89 dubias can climb. they just aren't as good as other roaches. the best thing you can do is if you have clear packing tape? tape like an inch below the top of the containers walls on the inside, if that makes sense. what i recommend is making sure that the plastic you're using is completely smooth and void of any scratches or caked on dirt because they will use whatever they can to get out

      Get a separate tub just for placing them during cleaning. Just kinda bang the egg flats on the side of tub till all the roaches are off. Clean then place back.

      try a closet and if you're serious about it, make sure your house is at least 85

    I've planned to get two white's tree frogs in future and I'm still confused of something.That is....how many dubia roaches for whole year long?I googled how to start a colony & it said 20.Butttttt...those 20 roaches will gone within a week,right?So,do I have to separate roaches that I'll feed and roaches that I'll breed?Thank u

    If you do start breeding other roaches, breed the blatta lateralis roaches! (Turkestan roach)

    Just came across the video and subscribed. Question, I have a reptile room that is 88° and 60-65% humidity during the day and 79° and 65-70% at night. If I get 3 tubs and start with 30 males and 150 females in each one will that be a good start?

      your main concern is temperature. 85-95 degrees. could also take a while depending on what stage of adulthood they're in n

    These roaches have 65 grams of protein in 100 grams nearly double than chicken
    And 3 times than normal cockroach ie periplaneta Americana

    Is it better if there’s less egg crates? I have around 300* females but on a 100+L bin and i feel like they’re breeding slow. There are like >50 egg crates in there and i think that’s one of the problem. Is it?

      ideal breeding temperatures are 85-95 degrees. and fit as many as you can with a construction paper like paper in between each of the egg cartons

    Can you tell me how you prevent the fruit flys from breeding with the fruits and veggies you feed the Dubai? The fruits and veggies leave my tubs wet and breeds fruit flys :(

    I know how to tell the difference between males and females as adults - but is there a way to tell when they are sub adult? I would like to have more colonies (two right now, but can't mess with them till april of 23) and would love to be able to know

      You can look at the last body segment and compare its width to the segment before it. If the bottom 2 segments are wide female. If the last body segment is narrow male. Not 100 percent effective and nymphs have to be a couple colts away from adulthood for greater accuracy. Trying to sex smalls I don't believe is possible with any accuracy

    I’m looking to buy about 25 males and 100 females but I can’t find anyone selling both only males local can anyone help me please. Only problem is I live in Wisconsin and weather is cold so delivery would have to be dead accurate can’t have them outside.

      @@mtithewoodentank4817 depending on what yoire keeping them in. Mime are in a heavy duty plastic toat. I put a large zoo med heating pad underneath it. I havmt got a thermostat yet but they seem to be thriving . I havnt put holes in the toat yet cause it's still getting cold.
