Thank you! You've done a great job comparing these. From your video, I've decided to get the lite.
Thank you much! I do hope you enjoy it 😁
Great comparison and break down. Thank you for the video!
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video, clear, concise and to the point. No annoying music, or trying to be witty or silly, just the facts. Thank you.
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Thanks for sharing and keep up the research work you do.
Thank you!
Excellent video. Really great comparison. Super clear.
Thank you much!
The XP 2.0 is better value (considering what you get). But I think the XP Lite is the better city bike if you don't plan to go too far or carry anything and your city is not too hilly. Also a better choice for smaller/shorter riders (under 5'6").
Well said!
I have done close to 500 miles on my XP 2.0 and glad I didn't fall for the mid-drive vs. hub-drive hype. Now the bike's weight will always be a concern, it is a great value
@@ElectricRidesUT 2.0 and premium all have twist throttle? I hate that. Zoomo has thumb press throttle
@@ericcoen8894 Unless they've changed things. Both should have a half grip twist throttle.
My Lite is supposed to be here this weekend. It looks to be shorter than the XP, so it may not be that much of an issue. Will let you know.
Excellent review very very educational 💯👍🏾
Thank you much! 🙌
I was lucky enough to get the first gen pre-order sale at $899 plus a free pannier. But at 64 lb and no need for the rack I just use it for pleasure and riding a little bit on the dirt trails, so I took off the fenders, rack and purchased bmx handlebars and reduced the weight and noise. The fat tires looks pretty cool too, like a fat BMX bike. I think with the XP light they knocked it out of the park. For the price and simplicity it's a winner. Most people won't fold the XP 2.0 or especially the premium because of the weight and awkwardness of the folding rolling mass. The company is a blessing and help a lot of ppl to get into this with less money.than other brands.
I just got my Lite about 3 days ago, and LOVE IT, HONESTLY
That's awesome! Is there anything that stands out that you'd wish Lectric did differently?
Outstanding review.
Thanks
Thank you!
Great video, lots of un giving information !!! Thanks I’ve been interested I thought they would of cost thousands of dollars !!! Appreciate your input n feedback !!!! Happy Holidays
Glad it was helpful and thank you for watching!
It's NOT the $200 price difference, it's the TWENTY POUND weight difference that matters...
Bought two Lites a year ago and it is perfect. Use it for camping and we've never had a battery issue. Even hills are no big deal on the Lite. It is light, but about the heaviest I would want to deal with.
If the Lite came with fenders I would consider buying one. If you add fenders and a rack you might as well buy the 2.0 unless you need the lighter weight. Might be a good choice for the RV crowd for getting around a campground.
Completely agree with you!
@@ElectricRidesUT you can get fenders thru them for this bike: Lectrix XP Lite.....!!!!!
Best review I've seen in a couple weeks of researching ebikes. I'm looking for something good for a 160 lbs 5'10" rider in a hilly area to run errands with a 4 y/o either in a trailer or child seat in back. Suggestions welcome!
Thank you! Honestly, there are a lot of bikes to consider so you may have a tough choice! Normally, I'd suggest the RadRunner 2 but since you said hilly area I'd probably stay away since it only has 1 speed. There are a lot of "RadRunner clones" that may work instead. Such as the KBO Ranger, Espin Nesta, Blix Dubbel, Magicycle Ocelot, Himiway Bigdog, the list can go on and on lol.
@@ElectricRidesUT and the quest goes onward! Thanks for the suggestions 🙂
I have the Lite. There is one comment common to a most Lite reviews that I want to dispel. The Lite is an able hill climber on hills below 15 degrees.
If you adjust the seat height such that you can reach the ground with both feet tip-toed, you'll have enough pedaling leverage to climb most hills in PAS 3 with relative ease. The single speed is geared for pedaling in the 0-15 mph speed range (PAS 0 - 3). In PAS 4 and 5, you'll spin out, and it's pointless to pedal. Overall, good usable performance. KevCentral is correct: heavy throttle will get no more than 9-10 mile range, and max range (on PAS 1-2) is around 20 miles from the small 7.8 ah pack. I have spliced an extra XT60 connector to hook up an extra 13AH pack that I will be strapping onto the coming rear rack. This should nearly triple the standard range, for longer rides.
Awesome, thank you for that info!
Liked this review a lot. I am actually selling my XP 1.0 because I'm short 62 year old at 4'11 and the bike was a just a tad too tall, and too heavy for me to lift into my car. I did purchase the Lite as what I really wanted was something I could handle and still have power when I needed it. Yes, I will probably regret not having fenders, but I don't plan to drive an electric bike in the rain and I just want to ride a bike without worrying about weight and height.
Thank you, I appreciate it! Sounds like the Lite would be a good option. Can always buy the fenders down the road later on if you decide, of course.
Buy Bolt Jetson. $279 at Costco.
@@lifeisshort99 Those look like fun little bikes as well!
I’m tall, but even then the xp lite was able to fit me fine due to its adjustability. I’m 6’4 and had close to no comfort issues while riding the bike. But I will tell you, you’ll definitely notice that it doesn’t have suspension. Other than that the bikes great. Goes as fast as one would really need. But For only 200 bucks more I definitely gotta go with the 2.0 that has a slightly bigger motor and battery, and with the added comfort of the front suspension. The lite is definitely worth it, but at that rate I’d just get the 2.0
Glad to read your comment.
I'm 6'2" and I just bought the xp lite in blue to have as a second bike to my G-Force t42.
@@lambjack1 also would like to add, dont try one handing that bike, not really a smart idea lol
I am sure the price of the 2.0 and the Premium will go up soon. The lite should stay the same, thus becoming their best seller.
Very true. The 2.0 can't stay at $999 forever but I'm amazed that it has made it this long at that price.
Good review. After looking at many e-bike reviews, the XP Lite sounds like the best choice for me to do casual rides on mostly flat ground and be able to pack it in my RV.
Interestingly, the price is still "on sale" at $799 (Feb 2024), and at that price, they throw in a free "carry package". The carry package includes fenders, rear rack, and water resistant pannier bags.
I prefer the simplicity and robustness of a single speed compared to a derailleur hanging down that can get knocked out of alignment when packing the bike (although a 7 or 8 speed internal hub would be nice)
I have the XP Lite and no issues. It’s lighter weight and size makes storing it so much easier.
My only complaint is I wish they would have kept the 7 speed gear. I can deal with no fenders rack and forks. But man that 7 speed coupled with pedal assist the 2.0 has made rides so easy.
Oh people... why everyone automatically assume that the purpose of launching the Lite version was the low price only?
There are people who want the foldable bikes to serve their original purpose: small and light!
I DO like XP but don't get why foldable bike have fat tires weigh 70 lbs.
People pay more to buy smaller and lighter bikes. And this Lite was just a perfect choice for me.
Oh, those of you worry about the single speed... please research more about hub-motor type and center-drive motor type. It just make sense to be single speed on hub-motor type. If you want a bike for uphills or mountains, buy a center-drive motor bike with a nice mega-range gear.
Waiting for step thu lite.
Only makes sense "lite" for older or impaired. And "step thu" for older or impaired. Hello Lectric!
Agreed, I feel that step-thru models are the frame styles most people want!
@@ElectricRidesUT , Talked to the folks at Lectric and they said they have no plans to do a step thru for the lite bikes. I ordered the lite bike and I think I should be able to lift my leg across it. I'm old and clumsy.
@@shelleysetzer57 That's too bad, I really like step thru models but I can understand their choice. I appreciate you letting me know!
I think my biggest concern is how the company is far away from me. If I have any issues it could be difficult to get good help and assistance. Thank you for the review.
Thank you for watching! Yeah, it can sometimes be difficult to get service for these "direct-to-consumer" ebikes so I definitely know how you feel.
@@ElectricRidesUT Custome
r Service is 100% reliable, just bought one and they are GOOD when it comes to help you with any issues on your bike.....!!
I like the lower weight but as note but no active suspension will be a no-go IMO
I get the impression that the lack of a suspension fork is a complete deal-breaker!
They have -as anticipated….now moved the shipping date of the Xpremium to July. Then it’ll be August :( this is why I didn’t purchase yet -as I want a bike I actually ride during the summer. I hope they keep the price the same for not keeping their promise.
Good to know, thank you for the heads up. I wonder if the China lockdowns caused the delay.. who knows.
Do you suppose the lite is low enough to please those who need a step thru? How much lower is it than the 2.0?
i like the one gear less maintence
It certainly does simplify things. Most of the time I just ride in the highest gear anyway.
are those brake pads custom made for Lectric or it is just some standard ones that could be bought aftermarket?
For which bike specifically? I know the XP 1.0/2.0s use the standard Tektro E10 style brake pad, which is very common. I'd have to look up which pad the XP Lite uses, may be the same.
@@ElectricRidesUT great thx!
How do you turn lights on 2.0
Hold down the plus button... repeat to turn off lights
anyone know the weight reduction of the xp 2.0 with the fenders and rear rack removal?
Unfortunately Lectric doesn't list the weights of these parts but if I'd have to guess you'd probably shave at least 10 lbs removing them.
I kinda like this bike after seeing how Swagtron Ebikes customer service is and the lack of part support idk LECTRIC might get my money.lol
With all the rumerous ebike companies popping up making similar bikes I feel cust service and post purchase support are going to make or break most companies.
@@ElectricRidesUT Yep & that is the honest truth bro.☝🏽🎯
Got my wife xp lite for Christmas considering getting myself the 2.0 we want to have them for camping I should probably jump before a price increase
Heck yeah! The XP 3.0 is a great buy as well - I'd check those out as well.
It’s all about the weight , but at 45 lbs I still think it weighs too much , but I am very tempted to buy one
If you remove the battery before you lift it that takes off 7 pounds. I have the same dilemma being 5 foot two and 108 pounds
I mean you posted this video in april of 2022, if the prices haven't gone up with all the issues from covid ie logistical issues, build issues, and of course inflation then I find it HARD to believe that the price will out of nowhere suddenly shoot up, especially with the Xpremium and Lite being added to the arsenal, I'm not entirely sure where you came up with that thought. I have heard they run sales for Labor day and Black Friday, the summer is almost already over but if I can get a labor day sale on the xp 2.0 I will buy it.
Yep I still find it very hard to believe that the price of the XP 2.0 still hasn't gone up, it's crazy! The thought is not mine alone, many have predicted the 2.0 price would be going up for awhile now but they've defied all the odds. Maybe they have a huge backstock of inventory that they amassed pre-pandemic before the price of shipping containers skyrocketed. But I'm not complaining that they are still $1000 - more power to them! 🙌
@@ElectricRidesUT still failing to understand why the price would go up, let's assume they have a normal stock why do you guys and others believe that they'd go up in price?
@@ML-kx9gz The profit margins for ebikes in this "economy" class are pretty thin as it is.. and with the cost of everything going up (shipping containers, tariffs for imports from China, aluminum prices, chip shortages, bike component shortages) Lectric cannot be making a ton of money off their bikes priced at $1000. It's getting harder and harder to find a quality ebike in the sub-$1000 price range due to these rising costs of doing business. Most other ebike companies have been slowly raising their prices.
@@ElectricRidesUT Thanks for explaining, a lot of people are telling me I should skip the lectric xp 2.0 and save a little bit more to get the radrunner 2. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Does anybody know what the average arrival time is? I ordered mine yesterday and am wondering
Got mine in 8 days
does the 2.0 allow rregen or auxilliary power
The 2.0 comes with a geared hub motor which in most cases doesn't have the ability to regen, you'd have to get a direct drive hub motor ebike for that or purchase a custom motor from a manufacturer that makes geared hub motors that can regen like Grin Technologies (which are rare).
The video might have very important information I really looking for but cannot understand you most of the time and the volume is extremely low and I have the phone at the top setting I think you should redo the video and try to speak more clear and raise the volume to maximum because we cannot hear it on the phone and this is very important video for me
Do you think one of the 3 inch tires from Lectric would fit on the XP Lite rear?
There looks to be enough clearance to fit a 3" tire on the rear, maybe. I'd reach out to Lectric and see if they give a max tire size that it'll handle.
@@ElectricRidesUT I did. They gave me the stock canned answer of "it only fits 2.4 inch tires". It unfortunate they don't have the freedom to actually help rather than reading from a script
@@jaycarneygiants Figures that you'd get a typical CYA type of answer.
When you are just considering price and features the Xp 2.0 wins. Not only does the cost of adding fenders and a rear rack bring the total cost of the lite much closer to the XP 2.0, but when you also consider the other up grades not even available for the lite, such as front fork suspension, 500 wt motor and larger battery, it actually exceeds the cost of the lite. If you were to add those, making the lite damn near a rip off compared to the cost of the XP 2.0. Weight savings through feature subtraction being the lite’s only advantage. XP 2.0 FTW.
Compared to other Lectric models (Lite and XPremium) and even a lot of other folding ebike companies, the XP 2.0 is a lot of bang for the buck!
If you're gonna add those things, might as well go for the 2.0. The lite is better suited for those who want to feel like they're riding a BMX with minimum add-ons.
i just copped a lite for my sister and girlfriend to use. i wanted a bike thats easier to ride. i have a 2.0. was worried if i get a 2.0 they wouldnt understand how to use it properly :D
Awesome, I hope that they love it!
Hey, Electric Rides, did you really heart a sexist comment insulting women's intelligence? Really??? You not only allow such a comment to stay on your video, but you like it? WTF
Compare Vivi FM20.
Don't buy a hub drive, that's the first piece of advice for anyone considering an eBIKE. Buy a Lectric XPremium rather than the LECTRIC XP light, it's ten times more efficient and has significantly less faults/maintenance problems and it will last you ten times longer.
Thank you for leaving a comment! Mid drives are definitely great and more efficient but they as far as maintenance they actually require a bit more than hub drives since it puts stress on the bike's drivetrain, so the chainring/chain/cassette. Both motors have their pros and cons. Unfortunately, If you want a sub $1000 ebike there are really zero mid-drive options, though. I'm glad that Lectric released the XPremium, a great step toward mid-drives in the affordable ebike market.
@@charlesr7690 Hub motors have to work considerably harder, their motors burn out a lot more. I run a bike shop and my husband is the engineer, he repairs or replaces hub motors a lot.
@@lisazack6459 Ah, I see. I've noticed most professionals that actually have to deal with servicing ebikes tend to dislike hub motors because of all the issues that come up with them and prefer the mid-drives. Which is understandable.
Not a biased commercial?! Lol! Both informative and misinformative, view with caution. For example, the differences easily exceed $200 when you factor the expense of upgrading to the more expensive battery alone.
If you are referring to the extra capacity battery that Lectric now sells, it wasn't available when I made this review (April of 2022) so this obviously wasn't factored in.
Their bikes are garbage. My XP 2.0 died within 6 months. The warranty is a joke I've called and sent multiple emails to Lectric. They have done absolutely nothing to remedy the situation.
not for me mate, 0 problems at all....bought the XP 3.0 black....Perfect!!!!
