    Really nice improvements over the previous model. Didn't like the fact that it couldn't make it up the hill on throttle the second time you tried it. Would like to see a little more powerful motor to take care of this issue. With new ebike laws coming this bike might be the solution to be able to keep riding ebikes on public roads & sidewalks. Overall I like it . I will keep it in mind in case the new laws stop me from riding my current more powerful ebike. As usual you do a great job reviewing ebikes.

      I have the original XP Lite....just about 1400 miles on it now, until recently I haven't had any issues....it randomly kicks the cruise control off and pulses the motor while cruising, so you have the motor then you don't....I think the controller is failing in it unfortunately.
      Kind of want a new one, with some of the upgrades of this new one, I just might order one. That belt sounds like it would be a worthwhile upgrade too.
      I do not ride aggressively, so I have no issues riding wherever people ride regular bikes, but I can certainly see some people ruining it for others unfortunately.

    I liked your video. You having the original model next to the 2.0 allowed you to make better comparisons than other reviewers who were just remembering the original. You conveyed a lot more info than was available in the preview reviews that came out the day Lectric announced the 2.0 model.

    Tip: You can mount the headlight into one of the screw holes where you'd mount the front rack which is especially good for reducing bumps and vibrations from loosening the headlight joints if your bike has front suspension like on the XP2.0/3.0, ESPECIALLY especially if you got their Elite headlight which is bigger and weighs more.

  • @joeysSEMassachusettsWeather

    You should do a video where you test the range feature. See what the range says when start a trip. Go 5-10 miles and see what the new range is to see if it accurately subtracted to miles out on, or maybe test it when doing a range test to see how far you can actually go based on the range.

    Sir, may I ask if you have a XP 3.0 and buy a XPedition controller, screen and rear hub then install it on the 3.0, will it work with just the power cable to XT60 modifications and the rest of the cables is plug ang play? thank you very much!

  • @joeysSEMassachusettsWeather

    Would love to see the belt drive and compare the cadence between the two

  • @wildbill23c
    @wildbill23c Před 2 měsíci +2

    I have the original XP Lite. Close to 1400 miles on it, and haven't done anything to it.....its showing signs of I'm guessing a failing controller, no codes, but the cruise control randomly drops out, and while cruising the motor starts pulsing power off and on, so you end up pedaling more than you get motor assist.
    The gates belt would be a nice upgrade, as would be the hydraulic brakes I'd assume, I've never had a bike with hydraulic brakes so I have no idea.
    I was hoping they would beef up the motor some, but to keep it in the same price point they couldn't....I'm glad they now have an extended range version though....I've been thinking about getting a new Lectric, but was going to go with one of the higher end models, but I might do that anyhow to get a larger motor...that tiny 300 watt motor struggles on the hills, I'm only 165-170 pounds, add some daily carry stuff in my backpack and that would make the overall weight about 200 pounds.....
    I wonder how those new tires hold up VS the more aggressive tires...I think the tires on my XP Lite are probably getting close to needing replacements, they're getting pretty worn...but that's with close to 1400 miles on it. I enjoy riding it, but around 17 miles is about as far as I'd try to take it without being able to charge it.

      I have just over 2200 miles on my original xp lite and only replaced the chain and upgraded brakes to hydraulics. Bike still runs smooth and easily does hills around my area. I bought 2nd battery since I sometimes do longer trips on weekends for fun. Still have original tires but back tire is showing wear. Considering the new version if pedal assist speeds are the same

      The xp 3.0 and portola are considerably heavier. I have the xp 2.0 and it weighs in at 65 lbs. with the battery. I did add a couple of accessories but they are less than a pound in total. No problem if you are strong enough but xp lite probably better for women and older people.

  • @joeysSEMassachusettsWeather

    I wonder if you can manipulate the tire size to trick to go faster than 20mph.

  • @joeysSEMassachusettsWeather

    Noticed the release model, based on the uploaded owners manual for the 2.0, it does not have the range display option, it skips right over range and goes to voltage. Maybe it did not do well on testing. I noticed some of the earlier releases for testing and reviews had that option, and some did not.

      It depends what you expect. I’ve been just fine with my existing 7ah battery on the original Lectric lite and that’s the bike we always take on camping trips but if you’re planning on long trips over 15 miles it would be worth it. Of course this all depends on the weight of the rider the terrain and how much they pedal. If you do order please consider using the affiliate link in the description of my video. Thank you.

    For the love of god, why don't they move the key location. I hate where the key is on my 2.0. Would be better if the battery could be removed without folding the bike, but that's just a personal preference. Also, why don't they offer an option to replace the existing seat at the factory, it sucks that the stock seats are just being thrown away. I'd like the gates belt option with the other colors, as I like sandstone and the blue. And finally, they should up the allowable top speed to 22-24 mph.

    • @DesuVR

    • @Cloudypoo
      @Cloudypoo Před měsícem

      Regen braking is hardly worth the juice to squeeze. More parts to add on top of a competitive market at the $1000-2000 ebike scene. You'll get like what 1 mile back on a full battery from regen energy. Regen braking is still a predominantly car feature due to the significant energy kinetic energy from how fast cars go and how much mass they carry. A single regen brake event from a car at high speed can capture as much energy as a small ebike battery
