I admit this entire video is trivial.
Nothing about how it runs or shifts, just complaints about the interior and lack of light on the visor. Who needs a step on a very small truck. 0-60 in 7.1 seconds sounds pretty good. How does it handle, ride? Would you like a 20'' touchscreen?
If you dont like it you should have done better homework. I have a 2022 with 50K on the odometer and I love it. Most of this guys complaints could be addressed by paying a few extra bucks. I have USB in the back and i have visor lights and i have a leather steering wheel. it was a part of package that i paid for. I'm glad it did not come with a hard roll up bed cover. they are heavy and take up space but can be bought if you want one; I bought a soft roll up. Too bad about your buddies' tools, but dont blame the truck for your stupid friends.
I admit a step bumper would be nice. If you are a cheapskate dont complain that you got a cheap truck. I get over 50 MPG because I got a hybrid. If wanted an off road vehicle i would have kept my 20MPG Tacoma. My Camry would suck for off road too but i did not buy it for that.
The Sant Cruz is about $10,000 more so...
Do your math and accept responsibility for your own choices.
I don't think he has a realistic expectations on what a affordable truck is. I guess he was expecting a 60k vehicle type expectations 🤷
Most of the complaints are due to not ordering the right option or trim? - Proximity Key comes on the Lariat, the Rut/Mud modes are in an FX4 & Tremor packages, and the 2.0EB model should get to 60 faster than that by accounts of others is more like 6.5 seconds (or less), the Hybrid gets there in 7.1 seconds.
Car and Driver's 2022 review of a Maverick 2.0L EcoBoost netted a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds. And you say that's slow? No cigarette lighter plug, didn't like the door handles, no lighted vanity mirror. C'mon. This guy sounds ridiculous.
I added the Luxury Package to my XLT Hybrid- I never thought I would like a heated steering wheel, but with that and the heated seats, I never have to turn on the heat above freezing. I will also say that I think the Maverick makes a much more compelling vehicle as a hybrid. I did add a locking hard trifold cover to mine as well.
I use it as it is kind of designed to be - basically a small SUV with an open bed that can carry filthy things, and be cleaned with a garden hose.
Likely want a Tremor package Maverick for off roading, better approach angles, factory lift, better shocks, and so on.
As for the dislikes ok, I get some of them. Then again, some of them can be solved by getting the right trim or options packages. This is true for just about every vehicle on the market today.

I'm editing my post. I had said that I just took delivery of my 2024 Maverick Ecoboost and it runs like crap. It does not run like crap. I was comparing it to my 2008 Honda Civic and was driving both vehicles. The Civic offers a much smoother ride. I finally sold the Civic and am finally getting used to the Maverik. The side mirrors are not automatic you have to roll down the windows and actually touch them to move them. I mean come on Ford, what the heck. That is ridiculous. Yes, I have the lower trim, the XL model but it shouldn't matter. Power side mirrors should be standard. And, if they didn't want to put power mirrors on it then at least have like a joystick that you could use to move the mirrors manually but not have to roll down the windows and touch them. Also, when I drove it off the dealer's lot it was kind of going up and down so I brought it right back to them. Fords service guy showed me a little stone about the size of a dime that was in the tread of the tire which created that problem. I've picked bigger stones out of the tire tread of my 2008 Civic and that car was not even affected by them. Another thing is that the spare tire is under the vehicle. Why would they put it in an area where it will get all cruddy from stuff from the road. If you have to change the tire you've got to deal with all the crap on the spare that has come up from the road. the pockets on the doors are not impressive. I put my phone in it and because the walls on it are so low my phone just dropped right out of it. I had to go to the dollar store and find plastic containers that fit perfectly in it so that now I can actually use that compartment. In ending I can say that it does in fact run well. And, although I'm not crazy about the dialing shifter it does shift well without a problem. It changes gears smoothly.

It’s not about the amount of money it’s about what you get for that money. No rear bumper step is annoying if you actually use the truck for truck stuff.

If you hate it that much WHY NOT SELL IT and put 5 grand in your pocket !!! Go buy a full-sized truck and get 12 MPGS . I get 27 to 35 on my Maverick and am loving my first-ever NEW Ford product !!

It's not a FX4 or Tremor. Nor is it a Lariat. What exactly is your point?
Frankly, the Bronco Sport Badlands, Maverick Tremor, or Santa Cruz aren't engineered for substantial off-road use.
A factory installed hard tonneau cover is available for Maverick as are aftermarket ones. It's hard for me to understand why someone would put valuables in an open bed unattended. It isn't a lack of availability of options that caused your aqaintance to loose their stuff. It was bad judgement.
Sounds like much to do about nothing.
If this is the level of thought you dedicate to your business, I would be hesitant to try your products.
Buy a lariat next time. I'll sell you one at msrp

It’s the same platform as the Bronco Sport. It is meant to be an affordable small truck that gets good gas mileage.

Buy a low cost vehicle and want more and more and more things that cost more. Locking bed cover - most trucks don't. The 2.0 ecoboost is 5.9 sec 0-60. Just a click bait video with nit-picky, stupid reasons. Sell it and get a $50,000 truck to get those things.
