As I see it .....
Stuart wrote the date on his hand, so I see it as very plausible that it got smudged or distorted later. He showed up on the wrong date, but it's all OK, because Raj's clone then contacted him telepathically and set him right.
I feel like it wouldn't matter if they were both successful. Even if a tenured professor isn't rich, he's not poor either. He'd be traveling for work here and there. As a successful actress, so would Penny, and she'd have control over when her time off is. Leonard can't be fired, so he can ditch work whenever and they can't do anything about it. They'd meet up when they wanted and have 2 residences.
Oooooohhhh... thats a very good point. That'd have to be after Penny's rise to fame though. If she wants to get to the level she dreamed of then she doesn't have much control for yeeeeears

I think it's obvious why Stuart was the only one to show up, everyone else wrote down the date on their cell phones, No one can live 20 years with the same cell phone, so they probably changed cell phones and lost the date.
Best not to take that flashforward seriously

A successful actress can have a home base most anywhere, though the only reason for tenor is job security and that wouldn't be an issue, so Leonard could do science at different universities. The only issue is he would have to continually produce result, and I am sure Sheldon would have an opinion on THAT lol. They never state it here or Young Sheldon, but the way they wrote Mary's character is that she was a wild child.. I suspect she became ultra religious after guilt from having Sheldon and his sister so young. No surprise she's getting some booty now carpe diem

I've said it multiple times before, but this feels like an appropriate episode to repeat it again: I really wish Stuart was actually cared about and not just played for jokes. I know that all the characters are overdone stereotypes in various ways, but the extent to which Stuart is played just feels sad and icky to me, not funny in any way. Like, Raj could have been the dead body on the floor and let Stuart actually play as just one example. He's a giant hypocrite for saying he always feels left out then treating Stuart even worse.
