It’s funny watching Penny cut Sheldon’s hair again after that horrid accident with the clippers last time… I really wanted to see Sheldon’s reaction to that, I suppose he eventually forgave her 😂
1st: Gas station sushi?.... Yuck! That was a very bad choice.
2nd. I too can't tell if Bernadette or Emiky are joking and obviously that's the writers intent. Bernie once mentioned crossing a virus with an animal and said "we wouldn't do that, that would be unethical" with a grin

Finally, I personally wouldn't act condescending to another person's chosen studies. But it does happen, so Sheldon is humorously reflecting reality.
But, like you said there are certainly studies that are dead ends for $$. Funniest thing I ever saw about that subject was a woman posting that her husband wasn't making any money with his Egyptology degree. So, he was going back to school to earn a PhD, to teach Egyptology. So...my husband is involved in a higher education pyramid scheme 😂

The mental picture of Sheldon and Hawking becoming a crime-fighting duo simply boggles the mind. :)
TBBT has been off for almost 5 years now, and I'm still not sure whether or not Emily was joking about the knives.
That setup with Sheldon being naked in bed, teasing that he did something with Amy was pure comedy genius lol. This show was pretty good, playing with our emotions like that😂😂😂.
Also, that's what Howard get. He was obnoxious the whole time and the table was turned. I love how every since he been married to Bernadette, he act like, he never blew relationships constantly. Knowing Raj used to pull more girls than him before not speaking to girls. And the only reason, he got Bernadette was because of that pact he made with Leonard.
Poor Sheldon.

I suspect Emily is joking as I'm pretty sure there are quite a few careers in the medical field that involve 'cutting people' outside of dermatology.
As for Bernadette, I'm less sure having worked in a microbiology lab and seen and done things that I'm sure would sound scary if I were to describe them, but are actually pretty innocuous..
