Yay for JP Wiser’s Triple Barrel Rye. Loved this video. I agree with everything you said. All it takes is for a snob to introduce you to whisky. It happened to me but I soon found enlightenment. Cheers 🥃
Thanks so much for watching! Snobs serve their purpose for sure! I think it's all good as long as the whisk(e) snob prefaces their opinions with "It's just me, but..." or "I can only speak for myself here, but ... " or at the very least doesn't put down anyone else for how they enjoy their drink.
Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully the video volume has been addressed in subsequent videos. Its always tough dialing in the audio, due to variables like the devices viewers have, and the audio settings and whether or not they have headphones. The struggle is real for us editors!! What are your opinions (or maybe this is a new episode idea) on bar/cocktail accessories? whiskey rocks, round ice balls, strainers, jiggers OH MY! I loved your snob list and it will make me think differently next time I steal a sip of someone else's dram :)
Great idea. It's something we've actually considered. (Creating a series called "Cocktail Quickies", which would be a series of short videos explaining different things needed to make a cocktail, be it hardware, or how-tos in relation to making your own bitters or simple syrups.) Depending on how our latest series of Cocktails is received, we may look into this!
Just gets tiresome, every review, every forum will beat you over the head with "you must buy higher ABV, cask strength, no chill filter, no colouring" etc. Some of us aren't made of money. Also the dreaded grain in blends, more people drink blends!
Yeah, there are some brilliant blends out there, but people tend to just avoid them out of a snobby ignorance. Personally I prefer higher ABV bottlings because of the more aggressive flavour, but you're right - it often comes at a higher price point
So true Alain, your approach to discovering whiskey is refreshing and welcoming. I was a bartender for many years and have heard all the snob comments about whiskey and wine. The only thing it proves usually is that the person making the comment is an ass. Ha ha. Love the song at the end and glad I won't get murdered as a subscriber.

Nice content but i find the music a little distracting, you should turn it down a bit !
