That little 180 degree change of direction rubber fitting that attaches to the pump was split in exactly the same place as yours on my Tacoma. Tank was fine with no holes or cracks and the pump seal into the tank was good too. Since you probably cannot get just the little 180 degree fitting, I just went directly from the pump discharge to the windshield washer fitting with a 3/16 inside diameter rubber hose from Auto Zone. End of story. My Tacoma is 23 years old and I couldn't believe how nice the tank was.....looked brand new....must be my low miles of 110K. NOTE; The tank shroud is attached to the tank at two locations with a staple. If you are gentle and careful you can pry the stables straight up and then be able to separate the shroud from the tank with some careful prying. If you can make your repair with the shroud in place, do so. I removed mine so I could make a better inspection of the tank. When you go to reattach the shroud to the tank you might have to enlarge the staple holes with a tiny drill bit (# 60) to make it much easier to push the staple back through the plastic tank flange and then bend the stables back over. If you cannot re use your stables you can attach the shroud to the tank flanges by drilling and using 1/8 inch pop rivets which is an easy job (if you have a pop rivet gun). I highly recommend removing your tire for this job, it takes just a few minutes and gives you much more room to work. Good Luck !!

Thanks for your video my friend. I just bought a Tacoma a couple of days ago, and after a detailed inspection, I found that the windshield washer fluid container is broken. It seemed that removing it was gonna be very difficult. But now, after I saw your very useful video, I thinnk I can do it. Thsnk you.

Aloha my friend!! I had this same problem with my 1997 Camry when I bought it a few years ago. I thought it was the reservoir but it was just that rubber elbow coming from the washer pump. Mine was split in exactly the same spot as yours. That explained why It would only leak if I used the windshield washer. Great video!!

I just bought a new one from Bill Kids Toyota in Timonium Maryland. My "jar and stem were all cracked and leaking too. This comment date is 12/26/2022. The jar, stem, filter, and cap, cost me $189.00 with 6% Maryland sales tax. Thanks for the info on how to access this part.

Thanks for the video. I got the same issue, I took the wheel off fluke you mention and speed up the time in half. It's not the container that leak. It's the pump cost around $21.00 from Autozone.

Same here, the fill neck just dry rotted and fell apart but the tank body still holds fluid. Before this, that half circle pump coupler split along the mold seam and the puddle below led me there. I'll be doing the same as you... new reservoir of some sort.

I think mine has a leak near the top, I think must be where the elbow and hose connected. I still able to use it except I cannot fill up to the top when it used to be. It started to leak after I filled up 2/3 or more than half way. Not sure I want to remove it because I think I may break something during the process; however, thanks so much for the video.

Fixed it last night, wiped down the tube with a big hole in it with lacquer thinner (good hot surface), wrapped with alum-ducting-ventilation tape, the real foil type that's crazy sticky. Will suffice for now.

Lots of price difference on replacement reservoirs; $134, $85, $65......just wonder what the difference in quality is ? Also seem to come in two parts; the filler neck and the tank. The tanks I looked at seem to be identical. Wonder how good the seal is? Anybody have any experience with the replacement tank ?

I bought my reservoir from my local Toyota dealership for $130. They’re harder and harder to source, that’s why I went to the parts dept at dealership. I have 02 Tacoma v6 prerunner. The tank and neck all came together labeled part # 85315-04050. Hope this helps!

I easily repaired my cracked reservoir before it was too late with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin from a kit. Here's the video if anyone is interested in my experience:
    czcams.com/video/cj5d6XI16u0/video.html
This seems to be a very common problem on aging Tacomas. The heat eventually deteriorates the plastic until it cracks or crumbles.

I believe there are repair kits for washer fluid tanks and they use some form of fiberglas patch.
