I scrolled down to find one of these comments. So glad it was you!
I wasn't expecting this comment, but at the same time I was completely expecting this 😂
Noice
Like your broken fan 😂
The cream paint matches the red perfectly, great choice! The fan looks fantastic, i love it :-)
When are we getting another video from you im really looking forward to it
Thank you so much 😊
@@CHRISTOPHER011 soon hopefully 🙈
@@mymechanics nice one 👍
@@mymechanics hehe i really wanna see you fix something made out of plastic :D
Really nice job that colour looks spot on very vintage look to it when finished
Thank you so much 😊
If you wish to restore the yellowing - then next to the peroxide you gonna need UV light or the sun itself. Sometimes helps a lot, and don"t yellow back over time.
I'd like to see you get a hold of some vintage sewing machines! Your work is awesome, keep at it!
The only issue with that is finding replacement parts if needed and the amount of rust inside. As far as the exterior goes, if you clean it up too much, the machine loses value oddly enough
My grandma has an old singer in her basement.
@@pegpelvispete7968 - Please tell me it's not Gary Glitter! 😱
@@mudkipx9052 - OK... I was joking, you know that right?
OMG even a new sewing machine would be a nightmare to redo
I love it, beautiful! Unfortunately I noticed a common but accidental safety hazard occur at 15:36
NEVER solder wires that will be inserted in a screw terminal! The solder is soft and will "creep" over time and the joint will loosen. This can cause heating/arcing/failure and can be quite dangerous! I nearly had a house fire because of this, I learned the (almost) hard way.
Please research this topic, it is a widespread problem!
Yeah, many do this mistake. Even GreatScott did it and people had to point that out
Houses has burnt down because people solder wires in screw terminals
@hawkturkey Thanks for that, I think you are right! Maybe it's not the problem I initially assumed. Maybe the comment will bring light to the subject for others anyway...
It'll be fine.
It'll buff out.
@@shanebeeder4628You are right, however luckily this time the screw is there to join the wires, and not the wires to a terminal. As mentioned above, never solder a wire that screws into a terminal, fire hazard!
18 year insomniac getting 2 hours sleep in a 24-26 hour period without meds. Since I started watching your vids, I sleep longer and better with or without meds. THANK YOU!! They are so relaxing! The quiet purposefulness rests my overtaxed mind. I am so relaxed I'm like putty when I go to bed. Keep it up!!
We didn't have air conditioning when I was growing up. The old oscillating fan was a true comfort when sleeping at night.
Well, that kept the original color. It conveys the spirit of the time.
When you're at a junk yard. you must think.
"Thats a whole lota content"
We don't call it junk anymore, it gets sensitive. You're supposed to call it "well used". 🤣
There's treasure in the junk yard for sure.
I've gotten thousands of dollars worth of equipment there over the years for next to nothing. Computers, monitors, printers, engine parts, TVs, bags, etc. I've probably spent less than $300 for all of it.
One of the big ticket items I found was a 1500VA APC UPS. It was $450 new and the only thing wrong with it was it had dead batteries. I spent $70 for good batteries and a couple of hours rebuilding the module they sat in, and it's been working for years.
It's more of a open air storage area for unrestored items.
i say its free real estate
@@bengerman9648 so you call it a well used stuff yard?
Tysy, I love the end result but I'd like to give you a very important tip on restoring old plastic and rubber parts that I use to restore old Nintendo Gameboys and original Nintendo controllers. Instead of using hydrogen peroxide we use cream peroxide that women use for making their hair blonde, and it works a treat to remove all of those deep imbedded stains that nothing else will get out. Try it out and tell me what you think.
"Man, look at all this junk"

*Yay, you kept the colors* :)
Awesome restoration
the color and the racing stripe make it great!
What a mental case. This is so botched.
Eric Jones why or how is it?
Jessica R the original patina is lost forever 😞
Eric Jones uhhhh...calling that "patina", is a stretch! It was downright nasty... I think you are just being sarcastic?!
Love it no music no talking just brilliant. For some reason watching your great videos I find so relaxing.
It’s like stepping back in time. It’s like I am there when they’re purchasing the fan fresh off the stock room floor. Awesome!
Amazing. I love these old fans. I have a completely original Arctic Aire from the 1930's that still works and looks like new. It's always nice to see an old fan come back!
I really like colors of the 50's era.
Everything from houses to cars to home appliances, Great colors.
This is a very advanced design for the 1950s, and definitely not "junk."
Eh oui monsieur la qualité Française 😂
I could honestly watch an uncut compilation video of just the paint stripping process. Watching you scrape it off is so satisfying.
I think I figured out why I love your videos so much. The things you refurbish are rarely exotic. They are things you might walk past every day and ignore. What you do to them not only restores them to new but in the case of these older-style items they transport you back in time. You see them like they were not only when they were brand new, but also when they were the latest products of their type. Well done, sir. Thanks again for a great video.
I'm convinced that people who designed fans in the 50's had a vendetta against fingers. They either didn't have little guards around the blades or the ones that did, the guards were so wide it didn't even matter because a kid could still stick their whole hand through them.
It does not hurt much. My grandparents have a similar fan, and since the blades are made out of this rubberish plastic it just hurts a little.
Also the fan will stop immediately after coming in contact with an obstacle because the motor won't have enough power to continue turning the blades
i just touch the blade while spinning and hurt 🤣🤣🤣🙈
@@TysyTube oh well :)
They’ll only do it once. Like sticking you finger on the stove or electric socket.
To be honest, I dont think the guard is there to prevent fingers as much but were to hold the blades should they come flying off the motor.
Common sense tells you not to stick your finger in.
Der ist wirklich schön geworden. Super Arbeit!
ist er eigentlich Deutsche?
Nein Franzose

What I like the most about these restorations is seeing how complicated the inner workings are. You show the detailed design of every component. Thank you for doing this.
Your assistant is worthy of the highest praise!
Good job, i really like this one! I was gonna make some joke about "not a big fan" but whatever 😁
I think your joke blew him away
This fan is 69 years old.
Nice
I like that he’s so meticulous. He’s inspired me. I think he’s inspired a whole new generation of restorers!
You know this guy is a true master when he whips out his third hand. I only do that under the most extreme conditions.
lol Too funny.
Retrobrighting -mix hydrogen peroxide with something like corn starch, coat the parts, then leave it in the sun a while for UV exposure.
Any other people: nah i'm gonna get a new one
TysyTube: * gets gun out * *G I V E M E T H E B R O K E N T H I N G*
Vintage products are beautiful and so well engineered that they can be fully restored even when 50 years old. I bought a fan for 50 dollars and it barely lasted one month ...
Another fantastic restoration 😍
asimo sss right? I have a Flav-o-Matic coffee percolator made in 1954. I’ve had it all of my life and make coffee in it daily (the best perked coffee ever) and though I replaced the cord once, the coffee pot is still perfect! Don’t find that kind of craftsmanship these days!
I’m a girl. And I’ve been binge-watching all of your vids. Is it weird to find them all fabulous and satisfying at the same time? Eventhough I don’t really know what kind of products or tools you used or don’t even understand the steps. But I do love all of the results. Keep doing what you love and be happy, Tysy.
Tysy muito lindo trabalho. Você faz parecer facil restaurar as coisas. 👏👏👍👍
Love your channel, love your work!
The red pops of color really add another level to this. Another wonderful job well done!
Sweet restoration and I loved that you kept the colors the same. Instead of just filling a land field its like new and can be used for many years.
Prep: get a sandblaster. Will save you a fortune in time and chemicals.
Metal Painting: can skip nearly all the time and cost of that lot with a powder-coating setup. ..And end up with a much, much harder-wearing finish.
Ps. All the paint you've put on that rubber blade will simply crack the moment the blades are flexed.
Still, thumbs up for effort. :)
Best yet 💖 I was watching dreading where you going to put the sticker! Good choice 😁
Great work on all. Loved the red angle , the 3 rubber fins how the came out so beautiful. Also nice electric core. Well done 👍. Thank you 🙏
You really went over the top with this one. Sticking to the original colors, explaining in greater details the steps, putting the sticker somewhere it is not entirely visible, leaving everything stunning, congratulations, the quality of your videos has gone up.
thank you so much 😊
I'm a big *FAN* of your work......Yeah, I went there.😓
Ya just had to didn't you. Nothing left to do now but go get ice cream.
Looks like it's time for a new capacitor in that bench grinder
it is🤣🤣🤣
@@TysyTube It's been a while. haha
Mine doesnt have a capacitor like I've seen in every bench grinder. It has something on the shaft that is spring loaded and when it is turned on it clicks and goes full speed. ???
The Cynic - centrifugal clutch switch; disconnects starter windings when it has reached full speed 😉
Send him one.😂 Just kidding.
So clean and beautiful. Thank you for sticking with the original colors. Very retro
-he has really nice arms and hands-
i can only watch one these type of videos a day or ill get stuck on watching them for hours :)
You could save so much effort with a sandblasting cabinet.
Yeah, but they are expensive.
@@alexandercurtis4427 they also tend to damage the piece unless it is very hard and rigid

When you were doing the paint stripping, it looked like the fan had tons of layers of repainting. Awesone restoration!

This one is my favorite one from all your restorations. I never even seen similar style of fan. It`s beutiful.
I think what I enjoy most is that most of these vintage products were built to last. Planned obsolescence wasn’t on the minds of manufacturers yet. Another great video.
this is the best restoration channel imo..keep up the good work
You’re doing it all wrong!!! Nah, that came out nice. Good job.
Beautiful! When you keep the original color, the work you did really stands out!
Every time I see you take things apart I just can’t believe you would get them back together. You are good.

Very beautifull. A space fan. Magnificent restoration. I'm glad you kept the original colors. I just hope the color on the fan lasts over time.
Everything you see is that the professional has once again unloaded and put together the device and made it very nice. Thanks for this video too.
Red thin line at the edge of the blade would be looks fine. In my opinion. Just for fu(a)n.
surprised the rubber isn't a total mess. how did it survive?
Probably stored in a dark, cool basement.
Or, just as likely, made with all the nasty chemicals that make stuff last but are banned today.
That would be badass to drink an Ice Cold Coca-Cola out of a glass bottle and sit in front of that fan listening to Elvis on the radio like it was summer in 1957.
Bravo! Beautiful work... excellent result! I enjoy your videos very much... thank you for posting! Please, keep up your good work!
looks like you need a nice starting capacitor for your Peugeot high speed polisher. Starting by hand does not look like you.
Il faudrait ajouter une terre vu que la carcasse est métallique 🙃
I used to come across broken antique fans all the time. I hope I run into another one cause I’ve always wanted one. And you make it look easy to fix. Lol

One of the most beautiful fan i've seen in my life, superb colour and great work!
Mesmerizing to watch. Thank you for sharing!
C'est rare de voir du contenu de ce genre d'aussi bonne qualité en France, continue comme ça 👍
My first thought was this wasn't going to turn out well because of the rubber. A few years ago I worked at a factory that fabricated rubber isolation pads and other rubber products. I know how difficult it can be to work with, clean, restore. Tysy proved me wrong again. This turned out amazing as always. Glad you're putting your name (sticker) to the product!
I can’t get enough of your videos.
Truly phenomenal craftsmanship. Love the videos.
