This was a John and Freddie song. Freddie just loved his fans. The rest of the guys seemed to be enjoying it also.

I can go all the way back to the prog days, a great little song is Millionaire Waltz... listening back on it now.. oh so good.. forgotten by many people but prog really got me more in love with Queen.. I'm in my 70's now, my kids and my grand kids all love and know Queen from the early days right up to Adam Lambert too

This was the Queen song played at Freddie’s funeral 😢. He always sang Johns songs so well. Check out One Year of Love, Spread Your Wings, Your My Best Friend, Cool Cat. Freddie and John wrote some really beautiful songs. All 4 members were talented song writers and musicians. ❤

“Friends Will Be Friends” was written by Freddie and bassist John Deacon, with lyrics written by Freddie.
The video was directed by DoRo and filmed at JVC Studios, Wembley in May 1986, and features the band performing the song in front of fan club members. During the show, Mercury “high-fives” audience members, and at the end cuts the mic and sings along with them, letting them lead. Because of this, this performance was nicknamed “Queen’s Greatest Show Never Performed”.

John wrote this song with Freddie. I think it is such a great song, so uplifting.

Show must go on. You need to here this it's so powerful even tho freddie could hardly stand at the time as it was getting towards the end of his life but he still gave it everything he had I think brain may at the time thought he might not be able to do it as there are some high notes in the song but fred turnd and said "No ill f#$king do it" he took a shot of vodka and absolutely smashed it. What a legend wish he was still around today.

This performance, with the Queen fan club, was nicknamed “Queen’s Greatest Show Never Performed. 😅 The song was performed live on The Magic Tour. It was the first and only song that was sung at the end of the concert between We Will Rock You & We Are The Champions since the News of the World Tour in 1977.

In terms of Queen we can say, that anybody can find at least one song that fits to the taste. This melody is so catchy, I love it. They played a mini concert to the members of the Queen's fan club, there were about 900 very happy young people in the audience who didn't mind the long lasting shooting procedure, I wish I was there. 🥳

There’s a song that Freddie wrote for his cat called Delila. Roger & Brian said we’re not singing a song about your cat. Freddie said if Roger has a song about loving his car I can have a sing about my cat. It’s not bad but it’s one of they’re obscure songs. Speaking about Rogers song if you haven’t heard I’m in love with my car. Roger singe lead while still drumming. It was chosen as the ‘B’ side of Bohemian Rhapsody’

An early, early, song called “you take my breath away.” This is early 70’s, a solo with only Freddie’s voice and his piano. In Hyde Park, London. Better than the studio version, and it really does take one’s breath away!

Yes! Hyde Park 1976, Freddie introduced it with just him and piano before it was recorded.
A tender, achingly vulnerable long song..

Looking forward to "You're My Best Friend", it is one of my favorites; a pretty love song written by John. The studio version is probably best for this one. (Others feel free to correct me!)

Thanks Trevor!

Trevor it is so great to see you on your Queen journey as a youngster. HA. There are no bad Queen songs, and I've heard just about all of them plenty of times. But I've had many many years to hear them all. I do hope at some point you will get to Freddie's life long dream of singing opera. That frean came true at the end of his life, and he collaborated with opera diva Monserrat Cable. It is mind blowing, and a good start is Barcelona.

Greay reaction! The more you listen, the more you can tell which songs were primarily written by which band member

    • @TrevorReaction
      @TrevorReaction  Před rokem

From what i’ve heard, Freddie primarily writes the love songs, Brian with some more rock and guitar solos (of course), John about friendship primarily (he was also the secret weapon to some mega hits), and Roger i have yet to figure out but i know he wrote Radio Gaga which was a big hit! And “These Are The Days of Our Lives” which i have yet to watch and react to but I definitely will :)

Songs that John had something to do with, always had a different feel to them. More lighthearted or sentimental. They all had their own style of writing. I think that is why they never really got bored or discusted except for their album Hot Spaces. I think Brian and Roger were not to happy with it. Might want to check out the song "You and I".

Wonderful reaction, Trevor. You will probably like “Save Me” and “Dragon Attack” from the 1981 Montreal concert. They’re outstanding and Freddie really involves the crowd. Musically terrific. Enjoy!

Nice reaction. This has a beautiful melody. On the 1986 tour they played it in the encore between We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. It was a stroke of genius changing it up like that. You're My Best Friend was off the same album as Bohemian Rhapsody and was the second single from that album, A Night At The Opera. John wrote it for his wife. React to the studio video. John wanted an electric piano on the song but Freddie wouldn't play it. Freddie said "why would I play that thing when I have a grand piano"? So John went home and learned how to play the electric piano and it gives the unique sound to this song. They played it live but it didn't sound the same without the electric piano. The song was very popular at weddings in the 70s/80s.

Wow, thanks for all the great facts! I’ll definitely be reacting to that one soon, i know its a Queen classic! And i’ll also be reacting to the Wembley version of Friends Will be Friends once i get to that point in the concert (i’m going through all the songs in order and making separate reactions to each song from that concert). Right now we’re at Love of My Life which i just reacted to and it was so great and beautiful :)
