  • Some parts of this video on Healing Magic didn't turn out quite the way I hoped. I held off on posting the video for along time because of that. I'm thinking that I'll do a follow up video at a later date to add to the topic. In the meantime please let me (and others!) about the healing magick you do be it for physical pain or injury or emotional stress and pain.

Web md is a good site to check about herb safety and interactions. This site has a special app for checking for contraindications. For people with a Ragweed allergy chamomile might cause an allergic reaction. Otherwise it is a usually a very safe herb to use. Scott Cunningham lists herbs not to use in his magical aromatherapy and herbalism books. I like the intent and will aspect you talked about in your video. In Yoga, it is believed the person preparing the food can transmit their mood onto the food so it is prepared joyfully and with intention. Just seen some lovely patterns for prayer shawls where prayers are said as they are made and given to comfort people. In Ayurveda crystals, herbs, food, Yoga asanas, mandalas, mudras as well as thought and action are used to heal. It all creates the conditions that support healing and well being. xx

Good point! I love that you brought up prayer shawls. My mother has one. It always seems to give her profound spiritual healing when things are rough. I'd love to be able to knit my own! someday. . .

After you talked about how you make your tea in a magical way, it made me realize that I do lots of little things like that in magical ways because of how careful and tentative I am. For instance when I also make tea, when I draw a bath, make myself dinner, or apply makeup

Healing magick is a wonderful way to connect with others or the self. We should live compassionately.

Oh yes! I wish I would have had more time to talk about compassion and how it interacts with healing. Maybe for another video!

I LOVE this video . . . we always hear about Christian prayer and "intention," but we almost never hear about incorporating our pagan spiritual beliefs into our everyday, ordinary actions that support our biospiritual health and perspective. This video, simply put, has been empowering for me! I am adding this magick ritual to my morning tea immediately!

Danni, as ever, you are extremely wise. You hit the nail on the head in your last little preamble. It's so lovely to hear you acknowledge that yes, sometimes life gets in the way of 'higher things'. With honour and an open heart, I walk forward. May YOU find peace in the sacred grove 🙏💚

Aaaa! I did it this morning! The tea thing! I stirred right, with my right hand, and chanted words to the effect of releasing negative yang traits; then I chanted the positive yang qualities I wish to embrace. I stirred left, with my left hand, and chanted words to the effect of releasing negative yin traits; then I chanted the positive yin qualities I wish to embrace. I finished with a simple blessing for all my kin that interact with me (as my desired "affect" upon the world), and I sipped my tea! I LOVE it! So simple . . .

Huzzah! I really go for those simple magics. They just pack a punch and waste no time on prep. I'm glad your tea was extra magical this morning!

I found your shout-out profound. Sometimes we don't have time for 'higher' things...but then, there is wisdom in that too. We can also take the vantage point that making tea, eating, going to work, paying the bills are also part of the path - (take or leave the word spiritual). Shirking out earthly responsibilities to go reflect only on our own spiritual pursuits is not necessarily enlightened. We don't always have to be consciously aware to be where we need to be and doing what we need to be doing.
Mythologies such as the Bhagavad-Gita, teach about following our dharma, where Arjuna must do what he must do, despite not wanting to do it because of opposing moralities. The Vasistha in Hindu mythology (from which we get the yoga pose Vasisthana - side plank) teaches, I think, this perspective of balance: between connecting to the divine and the material at the same time. In side plank one hand is connected to the earth and the other reaches for the heavens. It requires both strength of mind and body. “The magic occurs, explains the sage Vasisthama, when the individual soul merges with absolute freedom, so we can be, as the saying goes, in this world, but not of this world,” states Kaivalya. To go deeper into this story: he is speaking about realising self as divine consciousness in a material body and therefore also being able to detach oneself from material events (Bhuddism), but yet at the same time to be able recognise our life in the here and now and take responsibility in our day to day lives, in spite of and in conjunction with realising we are a manifestation of divine consciousness. In other words, taking a break from Bardic studies may be exactly the path or even the frustration to find motivation to study may be part of the study and the magic itself.
Druidry is earth- based. Let us remember that we are also of the earth. Yet there can be deep connection in this. In the modern world, this may mean both taking walks in the woods and sitting at a computer at work in order to take walks in the woods without worrying about having a roof to come back to.../|\

Tea is so overlooked as ritual here in North America. It has such importance in other cultures. Teas have been part of my practice since before I knew what Paganism was.

Nice video, but on the spell card I would tell people to make sure that the crystal they are using in the bath can survive being submerged in water. Some crystals will break down in water and become brittle or just break. Keep it up, you inspire us!
