Thanks -- the video was shot at a laundromat - so these are not my machines. Nonetheless, glad we could help.
Am nervous about public laundrymats. Who knows what was washed last in that machine or when it was last washed.
What do you recommend for washing pillows at home?
The reason I recommend a Laundromat is because when a pillow gets wet it is very heavy and the wash machines are there are commercial grade . They are better suited to handle the weight. Also, the driers are generally 2 to 3 times larger allowing the pillow to tumble better. Because of this additional size they will dry faster. As far as public laundromats, I agree to a degree, but bleach kills any germs and the heat of the drier would as well. Additionally, think about sheets and more so, pillows in a hotel who know who has slept on them...

Warm. Cold or hot water?
Warm would be your best bet.
