      A laundromat is not an idea sound studio. We have a newer version of this one coming out soon. The sound should be improved. Not owning the laundromat or being able to control back ground noise we ended up with some static. Hope the message and instruction was well received.

    Thank you very much for such informative video. How often it is recommended to wash a down comforter? Thanks again.

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 8 lety +1

      +nadia navarrete - thanks for the kind words. As far as how often to wash, some of it depends on you. Spilling things in bed or if you are a person that has a lot of oil in your skin consider doing it more frequently. I wash mine 2 times a year at the end of summer and beginning of spring.

  • @Verolinens
    @Verolinens  Před 8 lety +4

    For some reason I cannot reply to this comment from trfrierson - nonetheless, I know the tennis balls work, but you don't have them you can fluff the comforter my hand, but we still recommend taking the comforter out of the drier occasionally and re-orient it to get even drying...

    my down's gettin' a lil gnarly. I fluffed it the other day and a cloud of dust formed a small storm in my room. I was originally going to seek dry cleaning, but my intuition says you are correct about the 'being close to your face for 10 something years.' To the laundry mat with me!

    Would that work with a goose feather bed?(queen size)

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 8 lety

      It is hard to say, it depends on how thick the feather bed is. Most likely it would weight too much once wet. It likely will not fit in the washer or drier. As far as washing it if you could find a washer & drier to handle it, the answer is yes.

    i need help. i gave my mattress topper for Laundry and now its all crumbled . it was made of micro fibre polyster. can you help me fluff it back into shape. it have bumps now 😣😣

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 6 lety +1

      Sorry to here this. I am not sure you can remedy this. The poly string will knot up over time. If you purchase a new one, wash it on a gentle cycle.

    what heat did you day the comforter at????? What was the TOTAL time?

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 5 lety +1

      I start out at high, when it begins to fluff up I scale back the heat to medium. As far as time, it is going to depend on the amount of down your comforter has.

  • @gerlinpic1
    @gerlinpic1 Před 4 lety

    The video doesn't mention the temp of the water for laundering; will hot water kill the dust mites? I'm really afraid to use bleach every time I wash the comforter. I use it sparingly for laundry to begin with, because it harms the clothing fibers and reduces the life of the garment.

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 4 lety

      It might, but hot water is also hard on the cotton. However if you wash it once a year or so, it should have little effect on the comforter.

  • @trfrierson
    @trfrierson Před 8 lety +2

    i put tennis balls in the dryer with the comforter to fluff it. works like a charm

      Heart Break Hotel Inc put socks on the tennis balls so the corlor doesnt come off n comforter.

    • @hellfire4444
      @hellfire4444 Před 7 lety +1

      Some do put tennis balls in the drier to agitate the down a little and the socks would be a great idea to prevent color bleed. I haven't found it necessary to put the balls in, as I pull the comforter out every 5 min or so to reorient it, this accomplish the same thing. Thanks for watching. 1/4 cup of bleach. The detergent varies by brand. Read the label of the detergent that you are using. Don't use too much as you want to ensure that it is rinsed out. Be sure to check out our 150 "How to Video" here www.verolinens.com/how-to-luxury-bed-sheets-linens-tips/.

    Is there anyway to break it in so I don't hear the crackling noise?

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 7 lety

      Many lower thread count shells of a comforter have that scratchy noise. Even with higher thread count shells you may hear the two fabrics rubbing against each other. However, washing the down comforter will reduce this noise...

    when I put mine in a dryer at home for the first time I've ever washed it mine did not fluff back up and it looks almost empty now and I've only had this blanket for like 2 months

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 7 lety

      Chris, as noted in my reply on the other video your other commented on, the down blanket is not ours. Washing is the recommended method of cleaning ours. I can't speak to the blanket that you have. I would recommend that you contact the manufacturer to learn their perspective. Washing should not remove down from the compartments. As well, there is likely a law tag on the blanket what might offer cleaning instructions.

  • @jennaameedi
    @jennaameedi Před 8 lety

    Will this method remove stains ?

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 8 lety

      +Jenna Sexton , it depends on what type of stain is on the comforter. The Le Blanc linen wash is an outstanding stain remover. Le Blanc coupled with a little bleach should remove most stains that a comforter would come in contact with.

    • @jennaameedi
      @jennaameedi Před 8 lety

      +VeroLinens it's blueberry stains and I am afraid drying my down comforter in a dryer will cause the feathers to poke out and ruin the comforter all together

    • @Verolinens
      @Verolinens  Před 8 lety

      +Jenna Sexton It shouldn't ruin it, just don't over dry it - insure you take it out of the drier several times during the drying process, reorient it and put it back in... OBTW - blue berries stains are some of the worse. Le Blanc will take out wine, I have no experience with it and blue berries. Try spotting the area before you put it in the wash.
