    Enchantress actually wins at the end of Suicide Squad, SHE NEVER DIES, which is provable because Harley Quinn is NOT crazy.

    I have never seen the movie but harley Quinn was a psychiatrist she knows how to act making her brain think of something else with out losing sight of her goal making the enchantress think she never broke out of that fantasy

    • @kneau
      @kneau Před 7 lety +13

      jesaplaysminecraft Incorrect; she worked at Arkham as a psychologist, not a psychiatrist. All source material I come across, she is specified to be a psychologist. The only inconsistency I found is in the more recent 'Batman '66' (July 2013 - Feb. 2016) wherein she "appears as Dr. Holly Quinn, PhD, a psychologist at Arkham Asylum."
      The "PhD" might lead some to think she is actually a psychiatrist.
      Anyway, why does it matter? Psychological training. Earning a PhD rather than a Masters. She is intelligent & equipped w/ some psychological training... but not as much as a psychiatrist.
      My thoughts on why *that* matters: maybe someday she will continue her psychological training & become a psychiatrist.
      For now, while she knows enough to psychoanalyse, identify & diagnose many conditions - I don't believe her professional tools expand beyond psychoanalyses & cognitive behavioural therapy.
      She is aware of problems within herself, the Joker & anyone else she chooses to psychoanalyse but she does not yet have the training to help herself or others along any sort of path to permanent recovery or self-improvement.

    • @swandizzle185
      @swandizzle185 Před 7 lety +10

      She had her Doctorate (PhD). A psychiatrist would be an MD. Harley Quinn went crazy between her obsession with Joker and the abuse she experienced at his hands. She still has her training in abnormal psych, and can detach herself from whatever situation she's in perform psychanalysis. she doesn't just want to save Joker, she needs to. it makes sense that she'd take her Harley Quinn role - a moniker he gave her in Batman TAS - to relate to Mr. Jay as a way to coax him toward sanity. sadly, she began later on to realize how far she'd fallen.

      No because to sword only traps the souls that have been killed, and if I remember correctly, she wasn't killed by the sword, she was killed by her heart being crumbled, she could live without a heart as long as it wasn't crumbled, therefore, her sole wasn't in the sword since it did no harm other than help take her heart out

    Actually that Harley's craziness thing can be explained in the other way that is known from the comics and Arkham games.
    Harley is crazy but Harley Quinn is just her other personality. She still has Harleen Quinzel inside her but she keeps her away. Harleen tries to get out every second but Harley doesn't want to change back.

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  Před 7 lety +52

      So she has D.I.D.? Hmm, well that would explain a few things across the different variations of Harley. Still, she seems to come in and out of it in a very controlled manner. Identity disorders usually have a sudden "snap" back and forth. I remember the animated series even had a moment where Harley was arrested and away from the Joker and she says something like "I finally see him for what he is, a lying, manipulative..." then she sees he sent her flowers and she finishes with "ANGEL!" It's always played so much more like the effects of an abusive relationship, but I wouldn't fully dismiss a identity issue. :)

    • @safidraws
      @safidraws Před 7 lety +15

      The Fangirl Harley's character has changed a lot since the animated series. Harley does have several mental illnesses but is in the process of recovering. The joker most of the time acts as a trigger for her. And there is one clear flaw in your theory, it would imply that the justice League already has been built at this point, making task force X useless to begin with. Also, Superman's death was referenced in the movie in several occasions and as we all know he'll return during the JL movie.

    • @AdrianGarcia-ig1eh

    Diablo was a meta in the fact that he was the host of an aztec god which allowed him to see through the enchantress's illusions. In regards to Harley Quinn haven't you ever heard of Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, or the Unabomber because they were all batshit insane and yet they were capable of having completely intelligent and sane conversations with people.

  • @bunnylover9245

    this could be a good theory if not for one tiny thing: Enchantress can't actually read minds. if she could then she would never have needed to "brain suck" Amanda Waller. I would say it's more likely that she can see people's greatest desires, their dreams so to speak. one more thing. I don't feel like you can compare Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn to the others because actors bring their characters to life in ways they think they should be. Just my thoughts though. Hope to see more on this in the future from you! 🐇

      Ghost Sushi I don't know... that doesn't make sense. Think about it. Whenever someone tries to not think about something, they always end up thinking about it. I don't know. I just feel like there is a huge hole in that thought.

    • @Fickji
      @Fickji Před 7 lety +4

      Amanda Waller knows where secret government facilities are located. The Enchantress wants to destroy areas that may pose a threat to her eventual takeover of the world. The Enchantress needed Amanda Waller as the GPS unit to her destruction machine. And it worked rather well until the others showed up. It wasn't Rick Flag that the Enchantress wanted but the location of Amanda Waller. When Amanda Waller appeared the Enchantress stopped going after Rick Flag. (don't think the Rick Flag thing was in contest but might as well put it in)
      I don't agree with the "it's all a dream" theory as that would mean that the Enchantress and her brother are still destroying everything unstopped. I do pose the idea that destroying the heart does not kill the Enchantress as June Moon's own heart may have become the new vessel. That is why June Moon lives at the end. It's the Enchantress rehiding within June Moon as she had done in earlier instances.
      I do have hope that Diablo and Incubus survived the fight/bomb. Diablo is made of fire and Incubus is a "god". So lets say they're just missing in action.

    "Stupid" and "Crazy" are two very different things. You seem to be under the illusion that because Harley is obviously smart, that she can't be deemed mentally insane, and that's just not right. She does have the habit of psychoanalyzing people, but that's because she's smart and well taught. Just because you soak in information doesn't mean you're mentally okay. The Riddler's also crazy and smart and I don't see people saying he's just 'faking crazy' because he's smart. What makes Harley different?

    • @roxyspence
      @roxyspence Před 7 lety +14

      I'd say the main difference is that Harley was relatively sane before she met joker. Her instability only began after she jumped into the vat for him, it is evident that her whole identity is based in keeping up with him.

    • @amberreed5324
      @amberreed5324 Před 7 lety +4

      So Joker didn't go crazy (or supersane, if you want to take that road) after jumping in the vat himself?

    • @roxyspence
      @roxyspence Před 7 lety +21

      When Joker fell into the vat it was a traumatic and person event that could have lent itself to causing his insanity. When Harley did it, it was for Joker, to prove herself to him. It was just one, big, dramatic love confession. Its like the difference between being in a car crash and choosing to crash your car for the fun of it.

    • @luv2bevl1

      Joker was shown to be more of a Mobster in his "life" of crime.
      Some portrayed him as being younger & trying to go up the ranks.
      but still involved in criminal affairs.
      also potrayed to be the Waynes killer, prior to being Joker.
      Doesn't mean he was right, but he could have been sain.
      but if ppl assume you dead, or by his skin tones.
      he could have as said, changed due to rejection.
      Yes, there were several Villains in the Batman lines that have shown to be very intelligent.
      & as for the fact of Harley Quinn, she's "alive" because of that love, something that changes her world.
      Love makes you do very stupid things! everyone does that.
      why would fiction be different?

      @amberreed5324 Před 7 lety +9

      +luv2bevlify
      "Some portrayed...." I'd like to highlight the word "Some", as in not all. He wasn't always only shown in a negative light. In the Killing Joke, his backstory was he was a failing comedian just trying to get by. The only reason he became a criminal was to pay his rent and for the hospital trips when they had to check on their unborn child.
      "also potrayed to be the Waynes killer" from a movie where the director openly said he never read a comic before.
      "if ppl assume you dead" If we're going by visual moving-picture medias, then that's not 100% true, in Batman TAS when Joker created the Creeper, Joker had to constantly push Creeper back in the vat so that he could become insane/supersane/whathaveyou. He still lived through the experience (though sadly was a one off character, if my memory serves correctly).
      "Love makes you do very stupid things!" And I'm not saying that's wrong, I'm saying that Harley herself is not stupid. Stupid actions doesn't mean you're completely stupid. What bugged me is that The Fangirl seems to think that because Harley is smart, she can't be crazy, which is wrong.

    I've always thought, from batman the Animated Series and the other times I've seen her, that Harley isn't mentally stable, but not in the way most people think. Harley isn't crazy or psychotic. She's lucid and knows exactly what's going on. I think that she is not only infatuated with the Joker, but with the whole lifestyle. She WANTS to be crazy and psychotic and everything the Joker wants her to be, but not just because she loves him, but because she craves excitement, and she wants to be able to not care. He fantasy near the end is what she KNOWS is right, and how she feels now, but she does WANT to feel that way. While most people see her as a psychotic person who is madly in love but secretly wants to be normal, and this theory portrays her as ACTING crazy, but secretly being normal, I think she is a normal person who desperately wants to be crazy, to not care about life, but is too lucid and mentally switched on to be able to do that.

  • @roxyspence
    @roxyspence Před 7 lety +3

    I agree with you about Harley. She isn't crazy, she's just crazy in love.
    But I don't think the Enchantresses power is reading minds. Instead, its the ability to know what people want. She used to be seen as a God, no doubt people would have prayed to and given her offerings, in return for their wishes being granted. So it makes sense that she would be able to see people's deepest desires. Meaning, she was able to project an image of their ideal existence, but not read their minds in a broader sense.
    One theory I thought of (people have probably thought of this already, but I'll throw it out there) is that Waller purposely released the Enchantress, knowing she would be the next big villain. We know that Waller was struggling to get her suicide squad approved, and she's not above killing people to get her way, so its likely that she 'created a villain', knowing that they'd be forced to use the suicide squad to clear up the mess.

      I think the biggest problem is that the movie makers aren't trusting the source material. Well considering she was originally a doctor. She's smart enough to be able to psychoanalyze the rest of the team. Harley isn't stupid. She is rather smart and in some cases in the comics and cartoons she at times out smarted the Joker but she is bat shit crazy. I love her. She's my favorite character but she is crazy. She's smart but crazy. If you know anything about Harley you would know that she is crazy. In the cartoons they softened her craziness a bit but in the comics she's brutal and crazy. She uses her knowledge to outsmart others but its her craziness that drives her. I mean she is in a hell of an abusive relationship. She went threw hell in the comics. Absolute hell. She was tortured by the Joker and they did show a bit of that in the Suicide Squad movie. But somewhere in her crazy little mind (taken by the fact that Psychologists have to be able to bend their theories in hopes of understanding one's mental state.) she fell in love with the Joker to the point of helping him escape and all of that torture did nothing to change that. If she wasn't crazy in the first place why would she stay. When he preformed electric shock on her and convinced her to jump into acid. Plus if you remember in the comics the Joker is abusive even after she joined his side. They show him as this loving person towards her but he wasn't at all. That's where the film makers lost touch with the personality of the Joker. He doesn't appreciate her but only enjoys having her around for the fact he can push her around and treat her like crap and she takes it, keeps coming back to him, and brags about him like he's something special. To him she's a punching bag that remains faithful and loyal no matter what shit he does to her. So yeah she's crazy but that doesn't change the fact that she is smart. In the comics she did have a kid but because she knew how horrible he was she hid the child. Is she inhuman...no not like Joker. She's crazy but she does have at least some humanity to her which in my mind is why the the Enchantress was able to use her fancy vision power on Harley and the other members. They all had something that ties into their humanity which, except for Flag, happened to include children. So with her humanity it shows she either wanted a family or had a child and can't be with it. Deadshot can't be with his daughter and Diablo killed his family due to a lost temper. They had something to connect to their humanity for the Enchantress to use. In my opinion Harley did think the Joker was dead but how many times have they pulled that in the comics. However, if you remember in the comics she at times has to face the reality of the Joker's "Love" for her and when she debut in her own self titled comic she was still crazy but she was on her own. She came to the realization that the Joker was bad for her and did her own thing. So I think she saw how willing the team was to fight for each other and realized that if the Joker was dead at least with her friends she wouldn't be alone but could be herself without the abuse and I think part of her knows the future she wants is a future she can't have because it isn't what the Joker wants for himself. He wants to be crazy and torture and break the law. Its who he is so even though she wants the family life with him it just isn't what he desires. I'm not saying your theory is wrong I'm just saying. Harley Quinn is beautiful, smart, cunning, but bat shit crazy and there isn't really anything that proves otherwise. I mean how can she not be crazy when he tortured her and then convinced her to jump into acid all after she broke him out of Arkham. I think even though she was smart and as psychologist she is required to understand a crazy person's mental state; there might have been a crack in her mental state which again could tie into her humanity. She wanted to make him better. She wanted to see something worth helping and curing and he used that in his defense. He took advantage in that slight flaw and used it to benefit him. He as well is cunning and smart. So he's smart enough and cunning enough to use her slight flaw and make her fall for him to the point she'd do anything for him. She has to be crazy to some degree. By every psychology book I've studied she has to be crazy and mentally unstable to some degree.

    What about the heart its self. I know you said it's impossible for Harley to have cut her heart out but then that would've meant that they would all be dead. Making it impossible for that last scene dinner with batman. Also if you had read El Diablo's original back story he himself is cursed. The Enchantress and her brother are magic users and one of the things she can do is sense other magic users. What if her asking him about how long he was able to see was her REALLY asking him how long has he had ha power. If his curse possible came from the same source as Enchantress's power then maybe that's why when faced with beings as strong or possibly stronger El Diablo changed. All his life he could beat anyone with just the flick of his wrist which never made him have to try harder and truly unleash the power he has been holding back. What if El Diablo isn't that different from the Enchantress but just never knew or tried. Sadly he died before he could know.

    I agree completely on the insanity thing, esp w/ the Suicide Squads version of Harley Quinn. I thought the same thing. She acts more like a person trying to act insane than a truly crazy person, which ofc could be motivated by either wanting to cure joker, & wanting to be w/ joker forever, and even though a person can be incredibly smart & sweet, and have a mental disorder she seems a little to methodical/lacking in impulsiveness to be to far gone if she is crazy. Crazy or not I don't believe she is psychotic, or bad natured. Ofc like she says, normal is a setting on the washing machine, and she could have perhaps episodes where she is normal and episodes where she's insane. She could have PTSD, or MPD, or w/e and wouldn't act crazy all the time but, she does seem to ham it up, and be there enough to make jokes about the "voices in her head" like "....just kidding that's not what they said..." and most crazy ppl will not admit to themselves they are crazy or show humor about there disorder which probably makes them feel helpless at times. Noone is completely sane. Sane or not, gotta love her. She is a sweet and funny character. As for the Enchantress thing perhaps she was all to sure she could seduce Harley into being on her side even though she could see she wanted to kill her b/c few would be so strong to fight and admit the something they wanted & long for so desperately is just an illusive dream that could never happen. Many are not strong enough to fight her even when they make up there minds to do so so even if she read Harley's mind she could think to herself more assuredly "pft I'll fix that w/ this illusion and temptation for no mortal can resist my charms" and for good reason, b/c few have been able to resist which would make her cocky & reckless. Another theory is that many the Enchantress ordinarily can't read a persons mind compleately, just there deepest desires, hence why she needed to "brain suck" Amanda Waller.

Not saying it contradicts your theory but it would mean she knows he's alive but probably won't want her back so if she did ask for her 'puddin' back to enchantress couldn't it mean be together rather than bring him back to life and makes the last scene of him breaking her out more believable to a person in her spell? Buffy does have comics except those are owned by Dark Horse and while Dark Horse is affiliated with DC comics I don't think any character or universe from Dark Horse is considered part of he DC universe like Batman, Superman, Flash, Green Arrow etc are. So I'm assuming we are sticking with DC comics your theory of the blue lady in Angel being Enchantress is incorrect.

    my theory has always been that harley isnt the crazy people say, she lived her old life as a proper woman therapist, i think she always jad a darker side and that side was attracted to the joker, she always wamted to live a crazy life i mean we all at some point have imagined how it would be like to be a crazy villian with no worries, some ppl with mental illness take this a step farther and believe that life would be easier and better letting their inner demons out, so as harley is a rlly intelligent partially sane woman, she likes the crazy that goes on it attracts her and keeps her from having to follow societys rules, tho she is well aware of how badly she is treated she loves the joker due to the fact he is the kne that "set her free" you could say from a trapped proper life, while she may have some feelings towards him she knows he isnt good for her but her mind tells her that he saved her so she obsesses over him, and the fact that those who r good at pyschology know that he has to care about her atleast a little bit otherwise he woulda shot her years ago, now I lnow in some storylines he does leave he to die or they fight and one dies, but thats most times his anger happening, but at anygivn time he could have killed her in her sleep or something but he never did so he has to like her company atleast alittle so this along with him "saving her" in her mind its true love, but she is smart enough to know its not true but sue pushes all rational thought away to be able to live a carefree no law life that she dreams about, but jer mind is still skilled and it often wishes to go back to her life before crime a nornal life, but since she feels joker is her savior she willalways have an attachment to him so when her mind slips into wanting a normal life she still imagines him with her because she now feels they can never seperate due to what they have been through

      "Normal" might be a bit of a stretch, but I find it very hard to believe that a well-educated, very beautiful girl who knows how disorders and manipulative behaviors work fell into The Joker's b/s. She had to know what was happening, and she had to know why he was doing it. Plus, she keeps analyzing the other Task Force X members just to aggravate them, so she's still retained her psychological training and knows how to almost weaponize it. That means she didn't just go crazy after The Joker tortured her.

    Ok so here's what I think. First off about Harlequin, if she really wasn't crazy she would have known about the enchantresses mind reading powers so would have just had to flood her mind with different thoughts so she wouldn't see her attack coming. Second about all that baby stuff, what I think is that Harlequin and the Joker wanted to have kids but never talked about getting married. Third of all about the enchantress putting them in a mass allusion, when she asks el Diablo how long has he been able to see, I don't think she meant how long has he been free from her allusion because he answers all his life, so what I think is that she is referring to his ability to see through things like allusions, so if she put them in a mass allusion he would have been able to break free from it. And finally about them not being able to beat the enchantress and her brother well what if her brother and her still weren't at full strength, and like you said el Diablo being some sort of fire God at full strength would be able to overpower him because gods are supposed to be all powerful too, and if they're using most of their powers on the machine thing (sorry I don't remember what it's called) then it would make even more sense why they were beaten when they were supposed to be all powerful, especially since the enchantress in weakened when her brother isn't around. And are they really even all powerful to begin with I mean if humans were able to beat them and seal them away and take the enchantresses heart then they couldn't have really been all powerful otherwise that would have never happened in the first place and also if they were all powerful then the enchantresses greatest weakness wouldn't have been her heart she wouldn't have had any weaknesses or at least none that obvious. That's just my opinion though.

    Actually, there’s a hole in your theory - the Enchantress cannot read minds, there’s a short scene where it is shown that she is absorbing knowledge from Amanda Waller which is why she kept Waller alive. She was able to extract the location of the Army bases and ideas of what the team may want. These ideas were too supericial to hold the team, as Deadshot really wants to be with his daughter not vengeance on Batman. Diablo really wants his family back, not just sex from his dead wife. That’s why they were able to get out of their visions.

  • @EmmtheOriginallyLegal1andOnly

    In Harleys mind, she killed the Enchantress because she faults the Enchantress for Mr. J's death. Therefore the Enchantress could not read Harleys mind because Harley had no thought, rational or otherwise. She was driven only by emotion; which means she suffers from psychopathology issues.

  • @nyxangelo5012

    okay, I see an issue in this theory here. did you forget that katanas sword (the one harley used) traps souls? this theory was well thought out except for that one detail. yes, she was still alive at this point but her soul was gone which may be why she wanted to die. her brother was the brain so he was strong but very unstable if caught off guard. by Diablo fighting him and killer croc underneath him, even if his sister tried to warn him he was not smart enough or fast enough to do anything. his sister on the other hand is smart and fast, but lacked strength even with her heart she was weaker then her brother. she would not have been able to keep everything going at once. you also have to keep in mind how she was able to turn the people into soldiers. it was a one and done deal, she didn't keep control them, she just made them loyal and gave them powers. with all those soldiers, that would have drained her powers and weakened her.

    I took this ream sequence to mean this, now I am going to be talking bout suicide squad extended cut. the part where joker is about to electrocute harleen, and he says ''you took what little memories I had, you earased my mind and left me in a black hole of rage an confusion'' or something like that, I assumed this was a refrence to the killing joke, of which I believe jared leto has been teasing us with on his social media, in this scene harlie screams. ''but I helped you''. then the ending with the dream sequence, I assumed this was an imprint, this wasn't her actual dream this was jokers dream, of his life before her once again a nod to the killing joke in which the joker was a failing comedian who had a wife and child on the way. the imprint is not her dream or wish but more of jokers wish and or memory he may have told her about when she was the doctor, and she put herself in it, I also think its why he has the baby clothes in his death circle.

She was crazy because due to her obsession with him ,she tried to make him love her, erasing his old memories of his past, being nice to him to try to make him want her, so in the end she was pretty much more fucked up than the joker but since she was the only one he had that would do anything for him, live and die for him, kill for him, he took that advantage for his revenge by abusing her, physically, mentally and sexually, but she still loved him because of her obsession, so yeah of course she thought like a doctor because she was like that AS a doctor , she didnt just act like that after joker did stuff to her

    I think Harley is crazy but also in the back of her mind she can feel what she's doing and is actively trying to be harlene quinzell but I can say from experience that trying to act differently then your real self or what you've become can be tricky because you often forget what you're attempting and slip back into yourself. That's why she was crazy and sane at the same time. Plus the director only had a month and a half to write the script and run lines and scenes, causing plotholes

      Planned towards end of the month! Having issues with Universal claiming my videos for copyright violation, so I'm waiting for that to get sorted out first.

    another thing though. Harley had a reputation, a very big reputation, to uphold not just for the Joker but also for the members of the suicide squad. This reputation is her only power inside the squad

    Being antagonistic would mean she's looking for a fight.
