I have always thought a volley was simply when a shot is taken before the oncoming ball hits the ground and a half-volley is when the ball hits the ground before (or at the same time) the receiving player takes a shot. The real problem in United is not just about the poorly performing players, but also the flaws of their decently performing players too. Bruno playing so high that United's double pivot are often outnumbered at the midfield, and with Pogba's lack of defensive prowess, makes it all the worse. Our wingers are not tracking back even when the opponents are on our penalty box. Our fullbacks are not the best, even though Bisaka is defensively decent, his attacking acumen is sub par. It is better to let Bisaka play inverted and not go up for the attack.
Ronaldo not pressing hard is a problem too. Infact our press has been totally ineffective as a whole against Leister. Despite keeping it really narrow, they were able to pass through the middle.
Maguire and Shaw appeared like they were just out of the bed half sleeping.
How are they still getting a volley wrong?! It cannot be classed as a volley if it bounces of the ground, that is a half volley.
I like for Zidane. He will likely have more respect from the players . Don is always wrong so let's hope by January we have a new manager in place.
