Tricks of the trade in the Key of A

  • I just love the key of A - the open strings available make it perfect for fusing blues licks with a slight country twang if desired. I genuinely hope someone gets some benefit from my years of noodling in this key.
    Happy jammin’ folks 😊

Fender Telecaster (‘52 custom shop heavy relic)
Cornell Romany 12 (10 watt valve amp)
No pedals, just straight in to amp.
No computers, laptops, audio interfaces etc. Just my humble little iphone placed a couple of feet from the amp’s grill cloth. Then iMovie then up to CZcams.

This is what I call a lesson. Polite and friendly, whilst being humble and deeply informative. There is more to learn here than I've seen in 100s of other videos. And I've been playing 25 years now. Credit to you 👌

My friend, I've been noodling for 30+ years and never quite got how to properly play up and down the fret board. Until I found your video this morning. Completely obvious and utterly easy, but previous unspoken in such plain terms. Picture the root chord at different positions on the neck, play notes. I genuinely feel like something just clicked for me. Thanks a million Paul.
