enzo is no where near world class, and he cant become world class unless he is a very rare player that has huge spikes later in his career.
Isn’t it extremely telling that we don’t know what he’s supposed to be? If he’s a box to box player, then hes unfortunately (for Chelsea) extremely limited in his two way game. If he’s meant to be a creator, then it doesn’t look like he does enough of that. If he’s meant to be a ball winning midfielder, well… isn’t that what they bought Caicedo for?
No matter how we twist and turn here, it doesn’t make him look any better and it’s become symptomatic of Chelsea’s recent recruitment. They buy players because other teams want them. Not because they need them themselves and once they’ve got them, they stand there like: “Nice, we got this player that this other team wanted… soooo, what now? What do we do with him?”. You should know that LONG BEFORE he’s ever even signed for the club.
Here's the thing about fans like Chelsea fans who defends players like Enzo. They will rate their player and say they are better than x players. Then when you push back and say that player isn't that good, average at best. They will say what they did in the video and ask you what they are as a player.

He’s a midtable level player. He doesn’t run, doesn’t defend, he’s positionally unaware, and he gives the ball away a ton. He can spray the occasional long ball, but he’s below average at virtually every other aspect of midfield play. He should be at a club like West Ham, Newcastle, or Palace.

Don is 100% correct in praising Enzo’s performances last season from January till the end of the season. However, Terry is 100% correct in pointing out that Enzo has been incredibly poor this season, and has actually been looking worse and worse as the season has gone on. Caicedo has improved massively compared to his first 3 months at Chelsea, (yes Don is right that Caicedo was poor against City), but Caicedo has been looking excellent recently as our holding midfielder.
Enzo needs to dictate the games FAR FAR better for Chelsea, week in, week out, especially with having the freedom now, as he plays next to a far better version of Caicedo
